Progression: Level Unlocks
Global System (CM, MP, ZM, WZ)
Career > Progression > Level Unlocks
Earn XP to progress through 55 Level Unlocks and gain access to Weapons, Equipment, Scorestreaks, Operators, and more.
Leveling Up: From Private to Commander
Your Black Ops 7 journey begins with a straightforward mission: climb through military designations from Private I (Level 1) to Commander (Level 55) by earning XP across Co-Op Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, and starting in Season 01, Call of Duty®: Warzone™.
Rack up XP by performing well, playing the objective, earning Medals, and completing challenges (more on those later in this blog). Each level brings meaningful rewards — new tools, equipment, and tactical options to build your Loadouts wherever you play.
Here’s what you’ll unlock as your level climbs, with each unlock having a description if you highlight it:
- Loadouts: Default and Custom (MP)
- Weapons: Primary, Secondary, and Melee (CM, MP, ZM, WZ)
- Equipment: Lethals and Tacticals (MP, ZM, WZ)
- Field Upgrades: (MP, WZ) and distinct variants for (ZM)
- Perks and Wildcards (MP)
- Scorestreaks (MP, ZM) and additional variants for (ZM)
- Ammo Mods and GobbleGums (ZM)
- Operators, Emotes, and Features (CM, MP, ZM, WZ)
As you progress from 1–55, you’ll unlock six Base Operators and a selection of Emotes to further personalize your experience.
Relocked Content Note: Operators and Emotes remain permanently unlocked, even after you enter Prestige. Check out the Prestige section for full details on what relocks and what doesn’t when you Prestige.
Warzone Integration Note: Any Black Ops 7–compatible Level Unlocks will also be accessible in Call of Duty: Warzone when Season 01 launches later this year.
GobbleGum Note: All GobbleGums are available from the start of your Black Ops 7 career. Those appearing in the Level Unlock track provide an extra, one-time-use bonus version — a little something extra for the journey.
Level Unlocks Appendix: If you need a thorough checklist of all unlocks as your level climbs, check the Appendix at the bottom of this Blog.
Prestige
Global System (CM, MP, ZM, WZ)
Career > Progression > Prestige
Black Ops 7 brings back a classic Prestige journey through 10 Prestiges and hundreds of Prestige Master Levels, but with additional improvements:
- This is the most connected Prestige ever, with Prestige progress while playing Co-Op Campaign for the first time, as well as in Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone (at Season 01).
- New Prestige Themes, based on real-world military roles that evolve into personified symbols of the warrior, from EOD Specialists to Drone Operators to Combat Medics as you progress through the Prestige levels.
- New Prestige Icons and valuable rewards for each Prestige including Operator Skins and Blueprints.
Those players familiar with the Classic Prestige system from past Black Ops titles know what to initially expect:
- Choosing to Prestige: Complete Level 55 to reach Max Level and earn the choice to begin your Prestige journey. You have the option of choosing to Prestige, enabling you to climb through ten Prestige Levels, each featuring an icon and rewards themed around a different military role or symbol.
- Level Reset: If you choose to enter Prestige you will be reset to Level 1, and all Level Unlocks will be relocked. The date you entered each Prestige is recorded, and an instant reward is granted.
- Keep Your Progress: All your Weapon Progression, Operators, Challenge progress, Mastery Badges, Weapon Builds, and customization will be kept if you choose to Prestige.
- Stats Fresh Start: Combat Stats start fresh per Prestige, but you can always view your Lifetime Career Stats in the Combat Record.
- Seasonal Content: Items acquired from the Battle Pass, Store, Weekly Challenges, and Seasonal Events are never relocked.
- Prestige Reward Unlocks: Once you reach Prestige Level 1 and choose to Prestige, you level up again from 1-55. In addition to re-unlocking all the previous content, you gain access to earn otherwise unobtainable Prestige Rewards, Prestige Challenges (related to unlocking new Calling Cards, each with XP rewards), and an increased XP bonus every time you complete each day’s three Daily Challenges (per mode).
- Prestige Level Mastery: Achieve Prestige 1 Mastery, by completing all Prestige 1 Challenges to claim a special animated Calling Card along with a sizable XP bonus.
- Future Prestiges: Level up another 55 levels to reach Prestige 2, where you can relock all content and start the grind again, all the way to Prestige 10, and finally to Prestige Master (see below).
Permanent Unlocks
Each time you Prestige, you obtain a Permanent Unlock; an advantage that allows you — at any time before you reach Prestige Master — to Permanently Unlock any Level Unlock item of your choice. Once you unlock the item, it will never relock when you Prestige in the future.
For example, you receive a Permanent Unlock for entering Prestige 1. You unlocked the MPC-25 Submachine Gun at Level 55 and were enjoying using it, but now that you’ve Prestiged it’s been relocked. Spend the Permanent Unlock by clicking on the MPC-25 in the Level Unlocks Menu (under the Level 55 Commander icon), and the gun becomes permanently unlocked across all future Prestiges. You can also use your Permanent Unlocks when browsing item lists in Loadouts if you’d rather find items to unlock that way. The other way to unlock the MPC-25 (or any other item) is to:
- Level Up to Prestige 1, Level 55 and unlock it.
- Look for a blueprint in a seasonal Battle Pass and unlock it.
- Obtain it via a Store bundle.
TIP: Though you may want to unlock a Weapon permanently, you may wish to think about unlocking a Field Upgrade, Wildcard, or Perk as those can’t be obtained via the Battle Pass or Store.
In keeping with the new military themed Prestige levels, Prestige 1 is inspired by psychological warfare, bending reality to control perception. Expect some of the most exclusive unlockable content available. Note that some content requires the full Black Ops 7 game to obtain (for Call of Duty: Warzone players). Here’s a declassified look:

Prestige 10: Death
Climb through 10 Prestiges and you’ll enter rare airspace only for the most dedicated of BO7 grinders: Prestige Master. Here your Level increases beyond 55 for the first time as the Max Level cap extends to Level 1000. Here you’ll earn Prestige Master rewards as you climb from 55 to Level 100 and then will unlock additional rewards every 25 Levels until you reach Level 1,000 and the final Prestige designation: [CLASSIFIED]!
While the final step in Prestige Master is shrouded in secrets, we can reveal new reward and customization options available to players who reach Prestige Master in Black Ops 7:
Prestige Master: Demon of War
Prestige Highlight: “Hellborne” Operator Skin | Jurado
Prestige Highlight: “Sigial Fire” Blueprint, Assault Rifle | AK-27
Prestige Highlight: “Prestige Master” Title
Prestige Highlight: “Orange” Level Color
The climb from hell was long and steep. It’s time to unleash dread.
New: Prestige Master Titles & Level Colors
New in Black Ops 7: players can unlock and customize the way their Prestige Master appears to other players via Custom Title and Level Color unlocks.
Prestige Master Titles: when you enter Prestige Master for the first time you’ll be given the title of “Prestige Master” which appears in most places your Level is shown to other players. Reach Level 100 to gain access to Title Challenges that can be completed in all 4 modes to unlock Custom Titles that customize the way your Prestige Master appears to other players. Prestige Master Title Challenges also each award a chunky sum of XP to keep your Level grind fed with opportunities to make meaningful progress.
Level Colors: another thing that happens when you enter Prestige Master is that your Level Color changes to orange everywhere it is shown. Reach Level 100 to unlock the ability to instead display your Level Color as Navy blue instead of Orange. From that point on, you’ll unlock an additional Level Color option every 25 Prestige Master Levels, including multi-color and animated color options.
Look for the icon in the image shown above and enter the Customize Title Menu where you can swap out your Title for a Custom one that usually comes with a two-fold unlock Challenge (as well as a lot of XP).
Prestige Master Icons
Returning to Prestige Master in Black Ops 7, every 100 Prestige Master Levels you’ll also gain access to a set of legacy Prestige icons from past Call of Duty games, now with Black Ops 7 Prestige icons included. Remember that equipping one of these Legacy Prestige Icons replaces your Prestige Master icon and changes the way your Prestige Master status appears to other players anywhere it’s seen in and out of game.
Overview: Weapon Camos and Attachments
Global System (CM, MP, ZM, WZ)
Before diving into the specifics of how you can unlock Weapon Camos and particular Attachments for your weapon, it’s worth listing some new innovations into Progression, and all these different unlock methods, so you know how to keep track of everything. Let’s start with improvements to Camo Unlocks and other updates:
Black Ops 7 Innovations
The biggest Black Ops launch ever is also the most connected Call of Duty ever, with Progression and Challenge systems across all the modes you play. Whether it’s Co-op Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, or Call of Duty: Warzone, you can Level Up, progress your Weapons, and unlock Camos and Calling Cards regardless of which mode you’re in.
- Also expect improvements to Prestige with valuable rewards, and the return of Weapon Prestige for the first time since Black Ops 4.
- There are more Mastery Camos to unlock than ever before (16, including four in Co-op Campaign for the first time ever).
- Camo unlock criteria improvements based on player feedback and learnings from Black Ops 6means more logical improvements in the way Camos are rewarded.
- There are deep Challenge systems to further reward playstyle mastery and unique feats, including the return of Calling Card Challenges, Mastery Badges, improvements to Daily Challenges, and Reticle Challenges.
The Challenge Tracker also receives an overhaul, allowing you to easily view the Calling Cards and Camos that you’re close to completing. Or you can manually track Challenges you’re focusing on. Both are visible in the Lobby Menu or in-game via the Options menu. In addition:
- Three Calling Cards and three Camos are shown at a time (instead of one) for easier tracking.
- Progress towards your next Camo for “Last Used” weapon is automatically shown in the first untracked slot.
Weapon Attachments
Weapons > Loadouts > Gunsmith > Build Weapon
Note: Not all weapons have Attachments: They are not available for Launchers or Melee weapons.
Base Weapon Attachments: To begin with, the Gunsmith Menu has an exhaustive inventory of all the different Optics, Barrels, Lasers, Fire Mods, Stocks, Magazines, and other types of Attachments for every weapon that uses them.
Unlock Criteria: These are unlocked by leveling the weapon up in your chosen game mode. Unlock these at a faster rate by employing 2 WXP Tokens. Attachments form the foundation of adjusting each weapon to the style of gameplay you favor.
Seasonal Weapon Attachments: As the name suggests, these Attachments — usually offering impressive or leftfield offensive capabilities — are offered as earnable rewards, available during a Black Ops 7 Season. Expect these rewards to continue throughout Black Ops 7’s live seasons.
Unlock Criteria: These are unlocked where they are showcased. If you miss unlocking these Attachments, they become available in the Armory (Career > Armory) after the content is no longer available by previous means. These types of Attachments are accessed in the Gunsmith where all Attachments are fitted.
New: Prestige Attachments: Available to view in the Gunsmith for every weapon that can have Attachments fitted to it, Prestige Attachments are unique to each weapon and are denoted by a bright blue star and notation next to them. Only one Prestige Attachment is available per weapon.
Unlock Criteria: These are unlocked once you level up a weapon to its maximum level and then decide to access the Weapon Prestige for that weapon. The Prestige Attachment is then permanently unlocked and able to be used.
New: Weekly Reward Attachments: Weekly Reward Attachments offer the same degree of entertainment and firepower as Seasonal and Event Attachments, and one becomes available to unlock at the start of every Season, and consistently throughout that Season. More information later in this Blog.
Unlock Criteria: These are unlocked via Weekly Challenges. If you miss unlocking these Attachments, they become available in the Armory (Career > Armory) after the content is no longer available by previous means. These types of Attachments are accessed in the Gunsmith where all Attachments are fitted.
Weapon Camos Overview
Weapons > Loadouts > Gunsmith > Customize > Camo
Career > Challenges > Camos
Note: Make sure you keep up to date with the Weapon Camo grind by accessing the free Black Ops 7 Weapon Matrix Guides, available online here, which lists all criteria for unlocking Weapon and Weapon Prestige Camos. This will be constantly updated and improved throughout the live seasons.
For any Camos you unlock that are not associated with your weapon, or your weapon’s Prestige, access the Weapons > Loadouts > Gunsmith > Customize > Camo > Universal to see every camo arranged by type. The following Weapon Camos are available across Black Ops 7.
- Promotional: Unlock Camos for preordering Black Ops 7, purchasing certain items from partners or the Call of Duty Store, or via other promotional considerations.
- Events: Some Weapon Camos are awarded during an Event, usually as a final reward.
- Weapon Camos: Every weapon has a set of Military, Special, and Mastery Camos to unlock, for completing certain actions, missions, or quests in Co-op Campaign, Zombies, Dead Ops Arcade, and Call of Duty: Warzone. These are detailed later in this blog.
- Prestige Weapon Camos: Every weapon also has a set of Prestige Camos to unlock, also detailed later in this blog.
- Weekly Challenge Camos: Expect two Weapon Camos to be awarded every Season, once certain Weekly Challenges have been completed.
Note: Standard and Universal Camos: Not all Weapon Camos are the same. Some only cover a specific weapon. Others are universal, or animate, or even change color during combat. Here are the two general types of Weapon Camo:
- Standard: A weapon camo that is only able to be applied to the current weapon it is unlocked for.
- Universal: A camo that can be applied to any weapon once both the camo and weapon are unlocked.
Challenges: Weapon Camos
Global System (CM, MP, ZM, WZ)
Career > Challenges > Camos
Weapons > Loadouts > Gunsmith > Customize > Camo > Challenges
Unlock Camos that can be equipped to your Loadout Weapons in the Gunsmith.
Welcome to the Black Ops 7 Weapon Camo system, available the moment you start using a weapon, where you earn Camos at your own pace, along with additional improvements based on player feedback:
- In Multiplayer and Zombies, the Military Camo requirements have been reduced (80 Headshots per weapon in MP instead of 100, 1,000 Critical Kills per weapon in ZM instead of 2,000) for better pacing.
- Sniper and Shotgun Military Camo requirements have been updated to use Point-Blank Kills (Shotguns) and One-Shot Kills (Snipers) instead of Headshots, to better align with the roles of these Weapons and make it easier to progress with them.
- Final Mastery Camo (Singularity, Infestation, Genesis, and Apocalypse Camos) now unlock automatically when you’ve earned the previous Mastery tier on 30 weapons — a similar system to older Black Ops titles — meaning no more individual Challenges that need to be completed on each gun to unlock the final Mastery.
Take any (or all) of the 30 Primary, Secondary, or Melee launch weapons, and embark on a three-step process to unlock Military, Special, and finally Mastery Camos, now across all four game modes (Co-Op Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone at Season 01).
Step 1: Military Camos
Your Weapon Camo progression begins by unlocking nine Military Camos. These are unlocked sequentially with a specific Challenge for each Mode. They must be unlocked individually per weapon. Once unlocked, they can be used (for that weapon only) in any game mode. Here’s the Challenge criteria:
- Co-Op Campaign: Critical Kills*.
- Multiplayer: Headshots*.
- Zombies: Critical Kills*.
- Call of Duty: Warzone: Eliminations.
*NOTE: Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, Launchers, and Melee Weapons have different criteria in some cases:
- Shotguns
- MP: Point-Blank Kills (not Headshots)
- ZM: Point-Blank Kills (not Critical Kills)
- Co-Op: Point-Blank Kills (not Critical Kills)
- Sniper Rifles
- MP: One-Shot Kills (not Headshots)
- Launchers
- MP: Kills or Scorestreak Destructions (not Headshots)
- ZM: Eliminations (not Critical Kills)
- Co-Op: Kills or Guild Equipment or VTOL Destructions (not Critical Kills)
- Melee Weapons
- MP: Kills (not Headshots)
- ZM: Eliminations (not Critical Kills)
- Co-Op: Kills (not Critical Kills)
Co-Op Campaign: Get the following Critical Kills* to earn each of these Military Camos:
Foliage: 10, Desert: 25, City Digital: 50, Pine: 75, Forest: 100, Sludge: 125, Plateau: 150, Nocturne: 200, Topaz Snake: 250.
Multiplayer: Get the following Headshots* to earn each of these Military Camos:
Underbrush: 5, Woodland: 10, Slate Digital: 20, Redwood: 30, Poison: 40, Toxic: 50, Mountain: 60, Stalker: 70, Ruby Snake: 80.
Zombies: Get the following Critical Kills* to earn each of these Military Camos:
Char: 100, Tundra: 200, Flood Digital: 300, Cedar: 400, Marshland: 500, Mire: 600, Ravine:700, Skulk: 800, Emerald Snake: 1,000.
Call of Duty: Warzone: Get the following Eliminations to earn each of these Military Camos:
Autumn: 5, Arctic: 10, Forest Digital: 15, Balsam: 20, Arid: 30, Oil: 40, Snowcap: 50, Hunter: 75, Sapphire Snake: 100.
Step 2: Special Camos
Once all nine of a weapon’s Military Camos have been unlocked, you can start unlocking Special Camos. Each weapon has three Special Camo Challenges that unlock the Special Camo for that weapon. Once unlocked, they can be used (for that weapon only) in any game mode. Special Camos can be unlocked in any order (rather than sequentially like Military Camos). Each of the three has a different unlock criteria, with different Challenges for different Weapons and Weapon Classes based on the playstyle of the Weapon.
For example, the MXR-17 Assault Rifle has the following Special Camos (which are the same for all weapons), with a unique unlock criteria for each mode, once all Military Camos have been unlocked in each particular Mode:
Co-Op Campaign MXR-17 Special Camo Unlock Criteria:
- Cinder: With eight attachments equipped: get 150 Eliminations.
- Caiman: Get 150 Eliminations with the MXR-17 at Rare Rarity or higher.
- Network: Get three kills rapidly with the MXR-17 10 times.
Multiplayer MXR-17 Special Camo Unlock Criteria:
- Diamondback: With 5 or more Attachments equipped: get 50 Eliminations.
- Raptor: Get 30 Kills while or shortly after sprinting.
- Mainframe: Get 20 Kills with an underbarrel Launcher Attachment equipped.
Zombies MXR-17 Special Camo Unlock Criteria:
- Mutilate: Get 5 Critical Kills rapidly 15 times.
- Slither: Get 10 Kills without reloading 15 times.
- Pathfinder: With the Cryo Freeze Ammo Mod equipped: get 300 Eliminations.
Call of Duty: Warzone MXR-17 Special Camo Unlock Criteria:
- Shimmer: Get 5 Headshot kills.
- Tyrant: Get 5 Eliminations while using a Suppressor.
- Trace: Get 5 Eliminations without taking damage.
Step 3: Mastery Camos
When you’ve unlocked a particular weapon’s nine Military Camos and three Special Camos (12 Camos total per weapon), you enter the final phase: true Camo Mastery! Each game mode has a different set of four Mastery Camos, including Co-op Campaign for the first time: There are 16 Mastery Camos to unlock; more than any previous Call of Duty game!
Mastery Camos must be unlocked individually on a per-weapon basis and once unlocked, can only be used on that Weapon. But the results are worth it!
Co-op Campaign Mastery Camos
Co-Op Campaign Mastery Camo: Molten Gold (Animated; slow vertical camo movement, reflective).
Co-Op Campaign Mastery Camo: Moonstone (with Rainbow flecks that dance in the light).
Co-Op Campaign Mastery Camo: Chroma Flux (Animated; slow horizontal wave motion).
Co-Op Campaign Mastery Camo: Genesis (Animated; rippling motion, Reactive; changes color with additional flecks when fired).
Multiplayer Mastery Camos
Multiplayer Mastery Camo: Shattered Gold (reflective).
Multiplayer Mastery Camo: Tempest (Animated; writhing electrical storm).
Multiplayer Mastery Camo: Singularity (Animated; ethereal void, kaleidoscopes of light and stars move in multiple directions, Reactive; kaleidoscopes intensify).
Zombies Mastery Camos
Zombies Mastery Camo: Golden Dragon (Animated, subtle ripples, reflective).
Zombies Mastery Camo: Bloodstone (Animated, subtle crystalline veins shift pattern, reflective).
Zombies Mastery Camo: Doomsteel (Animated, rotating cogs, green waves of ethereal energy, reflective).
Zombies Mastery Camo: Infestation (Animated, flickering dart tendrils, color-shifting sinew, Reactive; sinew becomes enraged).
Call of Duty: Warzone Mastery Camos
Call of Duty: Warzone Mastery Camo: Golden Damascus (reflective).
Call of Duty: Warzone Mastery Camo: Starglass (Animated with angular reflections and liquid interior).
Call of Duty: Warzone Mastery Camo: Absolute Zero (Animated with angular glow and dark bubble encasement).
Call of Duty: Warzone Mastery Camo: Apocalypse (Animated, void-rippling blackness with undulating red flecks, Reactive; void becomes deep crimson).
Unlocking Mastery Camos
Once you’ve unlocked the nine Military Camos, and the three Special Camos for an individual weapon, you can start to unlock the four Mastery Camos one at a time. The four Mastery Camos are unlocked as follows:
First Mastery Camo: Molten Gold (CM), Shattered Gold (MP), Golden Dragon (ZM), Golden Damascus (WZ):
- Molten Gold (CM): Eliminate 20 Special enemies.

Second Mastery Camo: Moonstone (CM), Arclight (MP), Bloodstone (ZM), Starglass (WZ):

- Tempest (MP): Get 5 Kills without dying 3 times.
- Doomsteel (ZM): Eliminate 10 Elite Zombies.
- Absolute Zero (WZ): Get 10 Eliminations while in the Top 10.
Final Mastery Camo: Genesis (CM), Singularity (MP), Infestation (ZM), Apocalypse (WZ):
The Final Mastery Camos has no individual Challenge; they unlock automatically in a similar way to legacy Black Ops titles: Unlock the Third Mastery Camo on your chosen weapon, then complete the following:
- Genesis (CM): Unlock Chroma Flux on 30 total weapons.
- Singularity (MP): Unlock Tempest on 30 total weapons.
- Infestation (ZM): Unlock Doomsteel on 30 total weapons.
- Apocalypse (WZ): Unlock Absolute Zero on 30 total weapons.
New: Challenges:
Weapon Prestige and Weapon Camos
Global System (CM, MP, ZM, WZ)
Career > Challenges > Camos
Weapons > Loadouts > Gunsmith > Customize > Camo > Weapon Prestige
Weapon Prestige returns in Black Ops 7 for the first time since Black Ops 4, delivering deep progression and rewards to the weapon leveling process. The option to enter Weapon Prestige appears after reaching a weapon’s max level. Weapon Prestige is available across multiple modes: Co-Op Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone (at Season 01).
The Weapon Prestige Progression Journey
Every weapon in Black Ops 7 features an optional Weapon Prestige journey to earn, with multiple unique Weapon Camos along the way. Here’s how the Weapon Prestige Progression System works:
Step 1: Weapon Leveling
The first part of the progression involves you leveling up your weapon as normal:
- Start Leveling: As you would with any weapon, use it in any game mode, and the weapon begins to Level Up. You can keep a note of your weapon’s level, and its Max Level, in the Weapon and Gunsmith Menus. In Black Ops 7, you’ll progress your Weapon wherever it’s used – including Weapon Progression in Co-Op Campaign.
- Unlock Attachments: As you continue to Level Up your Weapon, you unlock Attachments available for it, as you normally do.
- Reach Maximum Weapon Level: Once your Weapon reaches Max Level, you are presented with the Option to enter Weapon Prestige.
- Double Weapon XP Tokens: These are extremely useful when shortening the time it takes to level up your weapon throughout the Weapon Prestige experience.
- Example Weapon: MXR-17 Leveling: To demonstrate the path to Weapon Prestige Mastery, we’re using the MXR-17 Assault Rifle. Use it in Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, or Call of Duty: Warzone (at Season 01), noting the Leveling icon in the top-right of your Loadouts menu, that states the weapon’s maximum level; in this case, 47.
Step 2: Weapon Prestige 1
Once you reach maximum level with your weapon, you can choose to enter Weapon Prestige. Choose to Prestige your Weapon, and the following occurs:
- Level and Attachment Reset: Your Weapon Level returns to 1, all Weapon Builds and Blueprints are reset, and all earned Attachments are relocked and must be earned again through leveling up the weapon.
- This does not include Optic Attachments, which remain permanently unlocked once obtained.
- Weapon Customization (Blueprints, Camos, Reticles, Charms, Decals, and Stickers) are maintained and not reset when Prestiging your Weapon.
Entering Weapon Prestige 1 unlocks the following:
- A unique and impactful Prestige Attachment that’s different for every weapon.
- A Permanent Unlock for your weapon, allowing you to choose one of your weapon’s attachments to permanently unlock, circumventing the Prestige Attachment relock for that selected Attachment.
- A Weapon Prestige 1 Camo: This is automatically unlocked and is Universal, and can be equipped to any weapon.
- A Prestige Build: A new Build of the Weapon is created automatically, with the Prestige Attachment and the Camo applied. Choose an Optic to place on it, slot in the Attachment you permanently unlocked, and begin Weapon Prestige 1!
- Your weapon receives a Prestige icon next to it, which is visible to you and all players during a kill cam.
- Weapon Example: As shown above, entering Weapon Prestige 1 with the MXR-17 allows us to unlock the following:
- A unique Prestige Attachment; the MFS Semi-Auto Fast Mag, which converts the MXR-17 into a powerful semi-auto weapon with faster aiming and reload, a reworked recoil, though greater damage fall off.
- The weapon’s first Weapon Prestige Camo “Skulls”, first seen in Black Ops 2, is applied.
- A Permanent Attachment Unlock for the MXR-17, which we choose to use to unlock the Aria Assail Grip that improves Handling and maneuvering speeds.
- At this point, we employ the MXR-17 again in any mode and begin to level up the weapon through Weapon Prestige 1.
When you reach Weapon Prestige 1, you can level up your weapon again, just as you did before. Once it reaches Max Level, you can optionally enter Weapon Prestige 2.
Step 2: Weapon Prestige 2
You can now choose to continue your Weapon Prestige a second time. The following occurs:
- Level and Attachment Reset: Your Weapon Level returns to 1 once again, and all Weapon Builds and Blueprints are reset, and earned Attachments that aren’t permanently unlocked are relocked and must be earned again through leveling up the weapon.
- This does not include Optic Attachments (or Weapon Camos), which remain permanently unlocked once obtained.
- You are awarded the Weapon Prestige 2 Camo, available to be equipped to any weapon.
- You are awarded a second Weapon Prestige Permanent Unlock.
- You are awarded a unique and weapon-specific Charm.
- Your weapon receives a Prestige 2 icon next to it.
- Weapon Example: As shown above, entering Weapon Prestige 2 with the MXR-17 allows us to unlock the following:
- The weapon’s second Weapon Prestige Camo “Dia De Muertos”,first seen in Black Ops 2, is applied.
- The “MXR-17 Expert” Charm is automatically equipped to the Prestige Build created when we entered Weapon Prestige 2.
- Another Attachment we choose to unlock using the Permanent Weapon Attachment unlock function. We chose the 15” Wraith Barrel for even better Handling. This is now a three-attachment weapon before the next set of leveling begins.
- At this point, we employ the MXR-17 again in any mode and begin to level up the weapon through Weapon Prestige 2.
Begin Weapon Prestige 2 and you can level up your weapon one more time, before you finally (and automatically) enter Weapon Prestige Master.
Step 3: Weapon Prestige Mastery
You can now start your final Weapon Prestige journey: Weapon Prestige Master! The following occurs:
- Your weapon receives a Weapon Prestige Master icon next to it.
- Your weapon remains at its previous Level, but now has a Max Level cap of Level 250.
- All Attachments unlocked via Weapon Progression for your weapon are now permanently unlocked.
- You unlock three Prestige Master Camos at levels 100, 150, and 200, as well as some impressive XP rewards.
Prestige Master Camos
The three Prestige Master Camos are not Universal and instead work in the same way as Military Camos: These are unlocked sequentially and individually, per weapon. Once unlocked, they can be used (for that weapon only) in any game mode. Here’s the Challenge criteria:
- Prestige Master Camo 1 “Cobalt Circuit”: Reach Weapon Prestige Master Level 100 with your chosen weapon.
- Prestige Master Camo 2 “Vermilion Cypher”: Reach Weapon Prestige Master Level 150 with your chosen weapon.
- Prestige Master Camo 3 “Violet Network”: Reach Weapon Prestige Master Level 200 with your chosen weapon.
Step 4: Weapon Prestige Max
The last step is straightforward, and concludes the Weapon Prestige journey for your weapon; simply reach Weapon Prestige Master Level 250 and:
- Your weapon receives a Weapon Prestige Max icon next to it.
- You unlock a unique final Camo, which may be animated, or a returning fan-favorite from a past Black Ops game. This Camo is Universal and can be applied to any other weapon in any mode.
- Weapon Example: As shown above, the grand prize for completing Weapon Prestige with the MXR-17 is the original Zombies “Afterlife” Camo from Black Ops 2!
Black Ops 7 Weapon Prestige offers a deep progression with each Weapon, virtually no more wasted Weapon XP, and double-quick progression if you utilize any 2XP Weapon Tokens throughout the grind.
Challenges: Reticles
Global System (CM, MP, ZM, WZ)
Weapons > Loadouts > Gunsmith > Customize > Reticles
Unlock customizable Reticles for different Optic Attachments by completing Reticle Challenges in Multiplayer, Zombies, Co-Op Campaign, and Warzone.
If you’re wishing to customize your weapon’s Optic sight Attachment with a particular type of reticle (and a good amount of additional XP), there’s a set of Challenges for you to undertake, including Reticle Challenges in Co-Op Campaign for the first time:
- Step 1: Gain access to the Reticle Challenges by equipping an Optic Attachment to your Weapon once you’ve unlocked it.
- Step 2: While in Gunsmith, access the “Customize > Reticles” menu, and progress through ten Reticles available to unlock in each Mode.
- Step 3: Complete the unlock Challenge for the reticle in question. These are usually unlocked by completing a set number of kills while ADSing (Aiming Down Sights) in the applicable mode.
- Unlock via Optic, Across Compatible Weaponry: Reticle Challenges and Unlocks are related to each individual Optic, meaning you can affix the Optic to any Weapon that uses it, and complete the challenge with that compatible Weapon.
- Unlock Access: Once a Reticle is unlocked, you can choose to use it on the compatible Optic in any mode. For example, if you unlock and Optic Reticle in Multiplayer, it can then be used in Co-Op Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, or Call of Duty: Warzone.
- Specific Optics: Optics are available for all Primary Weapons and Pistols. Note that some weapons — like Sniper Rifles — have specialized Optic sights only available to a particular weapon class, so check the Optics menu across all weapons to ensure you’re unlocking all Reticles. These are divided into “Short”, “Medium”, and “Long” ranges in each weapon’s Optics Menu, depending on what is available for that weapon.
- Note: You may also have “Shared” or other Reticles unlocked via other means (a Store Bundle, Event, etc.) that are listed and able to be equipped here.
Reticles: Unlock Criteria
Each Reticle has a default reticle (usually a red dot), along with its own set of ten challenges, with each Challenge unlocking a new reticle design. The number of ADS kills depends on the selected mode:
- Co-op Campaign: Get 150, 300, 450, 600, 750, 900, 1,050, 1,200, 1,350, and 1,500 kills while aiming down sights.
- Multiplayer: Get 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, and 500 kills while aiming down sights.
- Zombies: Get 200, 400, 600, 800, 1,000, 1,200, 1,400, 1,600, 1,800 and 2,000 kills while aiming down sights.
- Call of Duty: Warzone: Get 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200, 225, and 250 kills while aiming down sights.

Calling Cards Challenges
Global System (CM, MP, ZM, WZ)
Career > Challenges > Calling Cards
Complete Challenges to unlock Calling Cards that can be equipped to your Profile.
With over 680 Calling Cards to unlock, this is the biggest set of Challenges ever seen in a Black Opsgame. It’s made all the more gigantic with the inclusion of a robust set of Co-Op Campaign Calling Card Challenges, additional challenges for every Mode, and a whole host of Dark Ops Challenges we’re unable to tell you about!
Calling Card Categories, Sets, and Cards
When you access the Calling Cards Challenge Menu, you can view the available Challenges across all four Modes, in four separate Categories:
- Co-Op Campaign: Career, Endgame, Dark Ops.
- Multiplayer: Career, Hardened, Prestige, Dark Ops.
- Zombies: Career, Hardened, Prestige, Dark Ops.
- Call of Duty: Warzone (Season 01): Career, Hardened, Prestige, Dark Ops.
As usual, select a Category, and some are sub-divided into Sets. For example, Zombies has four Categories: Career, Hardened, Prestige, and Dark Ops.
- Zombies Career has three Sets: “Fresh Meat”, “Trophy Hunter”, and “Quarantined,” each with six related Challenges to complete. When all six are unlocked, an Animated Master Calling Card is unlocked, and the Set is complete. Unlock all of the Sets, and the Category is complete.
- The Prestige Category has more Sets than the others (11), with each set becoming available at a designated Prestige. Enter Prestige 1 and the Prestige 1 Calling Card set becomes available, and so on. These Calling Card sets will remain locked for players who do not choose to Prestige.
- Dark Ops has no hierarchy. There are no sets here, just fiendish challenges that only become known once you complete them!
100 Percenter Cards
As shown above, the infamous “100 Percenter” Animated Calling Cards are the ultimate goal for completists, and the Black Ops 7 deep challenge system is bigger than ever, now that 100 Percenter Cards are available for Co-Op Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone!
