If you aren’t in a building within the Tavorsk Park, you may be exposed to those that are. When roaming around the park, try finding natural cover, such as rocks, cliffs, and trees, as you escape to a safer area.
TV Station: Broadcasting Live from Central Verdansk
Veterans of the Call of Duty franchise will find the TV Station to be familiar ground: the area shares part of its layout with the Call of Duty 4®: Modern Warfare map Broadcast and its remaster in Modern Warfare. Just don’t let those rose-tinted glasses blind you from the subtle changes found in this retro version.
Snipers will find the vista from the Beech Tree Hill area an underrated part of the Torsk Bloc zone. Come here after you scavenge the Bloc for a sniper rifle or other long-range weapon, and you may get some intel on potential enemies at the Hospital, Train Station, Airplane Factory, or other areas nearby.
The various structures in the Junkyard don’t have verticality, save for the Comms Tower. It can give you incredible sights over most of Verdank’s West side but will leave you with little cover... Be sure to coordinate with your teammates if you decide to take the climb up here.
Craving some close-quarters combat? Coax the enemy team to meet you in the Training Course, which is cluttered and complex for being such a small footprint in Verdansk as it references a classic Call of Duty map. Just watch out for any operators who may be refereeing from the watchtower.
From the hangars to the numerous broken planes, the Boneyard has no shortage of items despite being a dumping ground for scrap metal. Follow your Tac Map to see where Contract drops are and be meticulous when exploring the area.
It is possible to reach the top of every crane in Port, although it requires some parachuting. If you do, you’ll be rewarded with one incredible 360-degree sightline that goes from across the Karst River all the way to the Gulag.
Those who remember the “current” Downtown will find the streets in 1984 to be a bit cleaner. While great for driving your own vehicles through the streets, note that the cleaner streets will offer less cover opportunities, leaving you potentially exposed to snipers on the rooftops.
Below the Giant Maintenance Warehouse is a basement level that stretches across a large portion of the Factory. Don’t forget to scavenge this area for items… And prepare for the claustrophobic CQB situations.
Few points of interest are as complex as the Railyard, a network of warehouses with a massive Tower as its landmark. Although it may take a while to learn every room, sightline, and route through the area, doing so will make you into a master of this popular area.
