The Story So Far

The Guild may be down, but it’s not out. Alden Dorne has a secret weapon and a key ally: neural scientist Victoria Atwood. The ruthless and ambitious Atwood leads The Guild’s technology branch, and her leadership spearheading the company’s most clandestine research programs is about to yield dividends.

After capturing David Mason for Project Synapse, Dorne works closely with Atwood, using Mason’s mind to try and recreate the technology behind C-Link. Why invoke fear when you can control all emotions?

Black Ops 7: Endgame Content

ENDGAME CONTENT SUMMARY

Guild Strikes: Alden Dorne unleashes hell across Avalon in a last-ditch effort to eradicate the JSOC teams. Surprise strikes may occur throughout Avalon, transforming a location into a Nightmare Zone, ensuring no match is the same. These zones have increased difficulty and a Strike Boss that can be defeated for high-tier rewards.

New Skill Track and Abilities: Season 02 introduces the Eagle Eye Skill Track, focused on precision, critical damage, and weapon efficiency. Mid-Season, players can unlock two new Abilities — Sentinel Protocol and Blood Burner — adding powerful support and traversal options to Endgame Operator loadouts.

Glitches (Mid-Season): After defeating a Strike Boss, a Glitch will appear: a mysterious, repeatable, off-map experience where you and up to three others need to survive six waves and defeat the Glitch boss to acquire Nightmare Skills.

Guild Strikes and Nightmare Zones (Launch)

Guild Strikes can trigger at any moment during a match, as Alden Dorne detonates hidden Cradle stockpiles across Avalon. When a Strike hits, the affected location becomes a Nightmare Zone, a high‑intensity hotspot featuring extreme challenges more difficult and dangerous than a current Tier IV area. In Nightmare Zones, standard activities shut down and enemy difficulty spikes.

Find yourself in a Nightmare Zone, and aside from staying alive, you have one overriding objective: hunt down and defeat the Strike Boss. Expect heavier resistance, aggressive enemy waves, and experimental Guild constructs pushing to keep you out.

Nightmare Zones remain active for the rest of the match, offering a fast, high‑risk, high‑reward challenge for squads willing to push into the most dangerous of Guild territory. Expect additional activities to complete, along with impressive rewards that make the danger of a Nightmare Zone well worth the risk!

Power Nodes (Launch)

As you level up your Operator's Combat Rating, be sure to keep an eye out for these special cube-like devices hidden across Avalon. Secure one and gain bonus Power to assist in your Combat Rating leveling.

New Eagle Eye Skill Track and Abilities

Secure precise takedowns by accessing the new Eagle Eye Skill Track, then secure the new Sentinel Protocol and Blood Burner Abilities.

Skill Track: Eagle Eye (Launch)

Sharpen focus for deadly precision, amplify critical hits, and make every shot count.

  • Increased Crit Damage: Critical hits deal more damage.
  • Big Hit: Increases Critical Damage dealt to full health enemies.
  • Last Shots Plus: Deal more damage when your weapon is low on ammo.
  • Rampage: Getting rapid kills briefly increases weapon damage with that weapon.
  • Aim Faster: Aim down sights faster.
  • Armor Breaker: Stun and damage enemies when breaking enemy armor.

New Abilities (Launch)

Once unlocked, you can access these in the Operator Slot Loadout where you choose your Operator and both Abilities.

Sentinel Protocol (Major Ability)

Call in a modified Guild robot to fight your enemies and assist your team. Can revive you and your teammates when downed and inflict a small area of effect attack when swarmed.

For those requiring additional robotic support personnel to aid in Avalon infiltrations, Sentinel Protocol provides an additional, temporary ally. This G-R5 Guild robot has been reprogrammed and offers ranged combat, a close combat pulse attack, and can revive you and teammates when downed. This can be useful when clearing out enemy strongholds or Exfil sites at lower player levels where one wrong firefight can jeopardize your Exfil.

Blood Burner (Minor Ability)

Spawn a mysterious motorcycle good for traversal and combat. Running over enemies charges a special area of effect attack.

Summon an armored bike that not only allows rapid deployment across Avalon but can be used in combat engagements. The Blood Burner can only be ridden by the summoner, though other Operators can be passengers. Dismount, and the bike disappears. The Blood Burner isn’t damaged by enemies or obstacle collisions, can cross water, and can emit a massive energy pulse that can floor multiple foes in its area of effect!

Glitches (Mid-Season)

Mid‑Season, Guild activity spikes across Avalon. Strike Bosses continue to appear during matches via Guild Strikes in Nightmare Zones, but the real challenge begins once you bring one down.

Defeating a Strike Boss can trigger a Glitch, a rare off‑map event that pulls you and up to three squadmates into broken, corrupted C‑Link data. Inside, your squad must survive multiple escalating waves and defeat the Glitch Boss to earn powerful Nightmare Skills.

Glitches are rare, unpredictable, and always high stakes, the kind of moment squads won’t want to miss. They may also appear outside of Strike Boss combat, providing certain [CLASSIFIED] conditions are met.

Exotic Fabricator (Mid-Season) The Exotic Fabricator will allow players to upgrade any Loadout or Field Acquisition weapon to a full Exotic Weapon.

  • The first upgrade will upgrade a weapon to Exotic Rarity and damage.
  • The second upgrade will provide an additional [CLASSIFIED] bonus.
  • The third upgrade will provide a random Exotic Effect.

If you have fully upgraded a weapon to Exotic or have a named Exotic Weapon you may choose to re-roll either the Bonus Utility or the Exotic Effect.

The Exotic Fabricator is a reward for defeating a Strike Boss and may also appear in other Nightmare Zones. The Exotic Fabricator can be used once, so choose wisely.

Nightmare Skills (Mid-Season)

Powerful new Skills that can be equipped in a new unique slot in addition to your Exotic Skills. Each Skill can be upgraded to unleash even more mayhem but choose wisely as you can only have one equipped. More information in the Season 02 Reloaded Blog.

Multiplayer Maps

Torment (Launch)

Brand-New, 6v6, Small-Sized

The tendrils have taken hold and blood rains from the sky in Torment, a new small-sized Multiplayer map. Atwood is at work here, attempting to extract C-link data, and created this “Torment”; a mix of David Mason’s memories and fears. Guild crates and shipping containers hang suspended in the air and tangled up in the sprawling root system, while glimpses of a chemical staging lab, quarantine signs, and hazardous materials suggest that there may be more than meets the eye in this hellish place.

Scale the Bloodfalls and enter a portal into the Basin, a blood-soaked arena branching off toward other portals transporting Operators to the center. Ambush and flank enemies on the other side and use the map’s plentiful cover points to defend against enemies attempting the same.

Sake (Launch)

Brand-New, 6v6, Medium-Sized

Fight now, celebrate later as Operators deploy to a Japanese sake factory in this mid-sized map featuring a Production facility, Depot, and Steaming Room. Visitors to the factory can learn about the brewing process through intricate Displays and within the Exhibit, with a Bar upstairs for thirsty patrons.

The various facilities are scattered across the open grounds, including a Loading Dock, an extensive Zen Garden, and a Roundabout entryway, creating pockets of conflict erupting throughout the map. Use your intel to pinpoint the hot zones and get in there to show them who’s boss.

Nexus (Launch)

Brand-New, 6v6/2v2, Small-Sized

Battle erupts in David Mason’s hallucination of a subzero testing facility where TVs with a red static signal are lodged into the ice. As Victoria Atwood tortures Mason’s mind to extract his C-Link data, this twisted vision takes shape in his psyche.

Navigate the nearby Cells where prisoners are held or head into the Tunnel and Mine giving entry to the underground facility. The nearly symmetrical map features an outer perimeter that loops around the central operation; use the available inroads to move between here and the outer loop, cutting down enemy combatants along the way.

Slums (Launch)

Remaster, 6v6, Medium-Sized

The fan-favorite Slums Multiplayer map first seen in Black Ops 2 returns! Duke it out around the central Plaza, one of the most iconic Multiplayer map locations in the Black Ops series, adjacent to the infamous Electronics chokepoint providing cover in a tight space at a meeting point between the middle and bottom lanes.

Engage in fierce urban combat across Upper Street and Lower Street or take to the top lane and ambush enemies from the Garage and Shops. Highly regarded by both casual and competitive players, Slums offers a true test of skill, no matter what your playstyle.

Torque (Mid-Season)

Brand-New, 6v6, Small-Sized

Get into a high-speed foot chase on this map that recalls The Battle of Los Angeles in Black Ops 2. Fight along the main road, using the stranded vehicles along the way for cover, while looking for Wall Jump opportunities across huge slabs of rubble and freeway twisting up into the air.

Enter the Acropolis National Bank to engage in close quarters combat or traverse the thin ledge behind it to access the slanted roadway with overturned vehicles acting as platforms to help jump across a gaping chasm. In this surreal landscape, anything goes. Be ready for it.

Cliff Town (Mid-Season)

Remaster, 6v6, Medium-Sized

Overlook is a tightly packed urban Multiplayer map, first seen in Black Ops 2 as “Yemen,” now reimagined as a cliffside Avalon town while keeping the original map’s legacy intact. Expect a blend of narrow alleys with elevated vantage points and tight chokepoints, rewarding both aggressive pushes and savvy positioning. Its central crevasse and surrounding structures create dynamic combat spaces where SMGs, ARs, and sniper lines overlap, making every flank and rooftop fight memorable.

Mission: Peak (Mid-Season)

Brand-New Skirmish Map, 20v20

Gear up for a brand-new 20v20 Skirmish map bringing more large-scale confrontations to Multiplayer. Work to claim High Value Sectors dotted throughout the narrow medieval streets with a central, snaking road to navigate across, watching for snipers nestled across the terracotta tile rooftops. Around half of the perimeter is waterlogged, offering aquatic opportunities courtesy of the available Tactical Rafts, small harbor, and fishery warehouses on the lower rocky ground, below the main medieval settlement where deadly house-to-house combat rages.

Grind (Mid-Season)

Returning from Black Ops 6, 6v6, Medium-Sized

First seen in Black Ops 2, the legendary skatepark returns with the Mid-Season update. Take the fight inside the park and pro shop, or head outdoors to the expansive skate bowl and halfpipe, where open sightlines and vertical movement create constant opportunities. Use ramps and elevation to outplay opponents, chain together stylish eliminations, and pull off highlight-worthy plays, especially as this map benefits from a variety of Wall Jump opportunities across areas you’d normally clamber through.

Firing Range (Mid-Season)

Returning from Black Ops 6, 6v6, Small-Sized

The classic Firing Range map returns in its Black Ops 6 form, entering the Black Ops 7 map pool with Wall Jumps available for the first time. Expect heavy crossfire along the central Road as Operators battle for control of key vantage points, including the Tower and the upper levels of the Shoot House and Garage. Moving targets glide along their tracks behind the Office and in several other locations, offering a brief distraction while setting up your next engagement. For a less direct approach, break away from the center and head down the Dirt Road, staying alert for ambushes as you pass the Storage unit on the way through.

Multiplayer Modes

Along with a wide variety of Playlists, Moshpits, and Party Games, Black Ops 7 Multiplayer has plenty of new and returning Modes to look forward to throughout Season 02:

Safeguard (Launch)

Returning Mode

In this high-tension game mode not seen in many years, teams alternate escorting a non-combative robot into enemy territory along a set path. Fight off enemies to reach the robot’s destination near the defending team’s spawn. At least one Operator must be near the robot for it to continue down its path.

The defending team must work together to prevent the robot from reaching its objective within the round time limit. Stall the attacking team by downing Operators near the robot, halting its forward progress, and by unleashing damaging attacks on the robot itself, forcing it to shut down and reboot as the clock keeps ticking.

Successfully escorting or pushing back the robot awards a point to the winning team. If both teams score a point, Overtime begins, adding 60 seconds to the clock. The team who escorts the robot to its objective in the shortest amount of time wins the match.

Overdrive (Launch)

Returning Mode

Kick into overdrive in this charged up twist on Team Deathmatch, where every elimination earns stars that unlock powerful abilities, with medal-worthy eliminations awarding additional stars, based on the following parameters:

  • Earn 1 star for Basic Eliminations like finishing off an enemy with body shots.
  • Earn 2 stars for Core Medal Eliminations including headshots and melee attacks.
  • Earn 3 stars for completing Distinguished Medal Eliminations, reserved for the most impressive eliminations.

Earning stars also grants special Operator abilities, including the following:

  • 1 Star: Awakened Senses: See enemies through walls and replenish your health after eliminating a target.
  • 3 Stars: Physical Enhancements: Increased movement and reloading speed.
  • 6 Stars: Augmented Handling: Improved hip-fire accuracy and improved sprint-to-fire and ADS speeds.

Acquiring all three buffs activates Overdrive, earning double the stars when eliminating enemies. If you get eliminated, or the elimination timer runs out, you’ll start back at your base abilities. The first team to collect the maximum number of stars wins.

Luck Confirmed (LTM, In-Season)

New Mode

Feeling lucky? Collect Lucky Pouches dropped from friendlies or an enemy to earn a bonus +100 Score for yourself and your team. The first team to collect enough Lucky Pouches will win the match and be the most prosperous in this Lunar New Year-themed twist on the classic Kill Confirmed mode.

Solo Hearts Moshpit (LTM, In-Season)

New Moshpit

Attention single players only: Expect a Moshpit during the days around Valentine’s Day especially for you, with respawn modes and a Party Size set to 1. All 6v6 maps will be available, with Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Hardpoint in rotation.

Third Wheel Gunfight (LTM, In-Season)

Returning Mode

Who needs a date when you can grab your squad and dominate 3v3 with the return of Third Wheel Gunfight? The addition of an extra player on each side intensifies combat across the mode’s smaller map sizes. Will you spread out, maximizing map coverage, or stick together like lovebirds, winning or losing it all together as one?

Gauntlet (Mid-Season)

New Mode

Flex your skillset in the new Gauntlet mode, challenging teams to vie for victory over five different game modes, played one after the other. The team with the best results across all five modes is declared champion.

Similar to the Pentathlon mode in Black Ops 6, two teams of six compete through a series of modes. The first team to reach the Score Limit wins. The modes in question are Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, and an additional [CLASSIFIED] mode. The mode changes every two minutes, and modes are chosen at random.

Infected (Mid-Season)

Returning Mode

Jump into this fan-favorite Party Game and face off against the undead or become one of them. Eliminated survivors become infected. Infect everyone or survive to the end to win.

For newcomers to the mode, a single player is randomly chosen to start as the infected following the match countdown. The infected player’s goal is to eliminate the remaining survivors; for each takedown, the fallen Operator will then join the ranks of the infected, while the remaining survivors must work together to fight them off until the match timer runs out. But this time, there’s a twist: when playing as an Infected, you can earn one of two Mutant Injection Scorestreaks to torment the Survivors. Become a Mangler or Disciple and cause some chaos.

Additional Loadout Content

Unholster the deadly Lockshot, acquire multiple targets, and take them all out one after the other with this new low-cost Scorestreak unlockable in the Mid-Season for use in Multiplayer and Zombies.

New Scorestreak

Scorestreak: Lockshot (Mid-Season)

Score: 450

Mastery Badges: Yes

A sleek smart pistol with 3 rounds that can lock onto multiple targets. A single trigger pull eliminates every locked target in quick succession. Unlock via Weekly Challenge.

Multiple enemy Operators in sight? No problem. With this smart gun in hand, you can bundle them up, fire, and hit all marked targets in the blink of an eye.

Overclock Abilities

  • Multi-Lock: Adds one round to the magazine, allowing you to lock onto one additional enemy.
  • Quick-Lock: Reduces enemy lock-on time.

Black Ops 7 Ranked Play (Launch)

The definitive Ranked Play experience returns for Black Ops 7! Compete using the same settings, maps, modes, and weapon restrictions as the Call of Duty League® to earn and progress your Rank and unlock exclusive Ranked rewards. Competition begins with the launch of Season.

Note: Read on, or consult the Competitive Settings Page of the Call of Duty League Website here, for the available Modes, Maps, Game Settings, and Restricted Items in this mode. In addition to Restricted Items listed on the Call of Duty League Website, any items not used by Pro players in CDL competition due to “Gentleman’s Agreements” between players (“GAs”) will be restricted in Ranked Play. This ensures that the Ranked Play experience matches what you see in official Black Ops 7 Call of Duty League competition as closely as possible.

Ranked Play: Overview

What exactly is Ranked Play?

  • Play Like the Pros: Play competitive 4x4 matches using the same settings, maps, and mode, and restrictions as the Call of Duty League.
  • Show Your Skill: Win 3 Placement Matches to receive a starting Rank and then earn SR (Skill Rating) after wins based on your performance to further progress your Rank. Losing matches deducts SR.
  • Earn Rewards: Unlock exclusive Ranked Play rewards as you reach new Ranks or career win milestones. Rewards include Rank Skins, Rank Camos, Blueprints, and additional Ranked Play rewards each season.

Ranked Play Access: To ensure that everyone competing in Ranked Play has a baseline experience with Multiplayer, all players must earn 50 Wins in Matchmade Multiplayer games to unlock access to Black Ops 7 Ranked Play. Wins earned before the start of Season 02 count towards unlocking the mode. Wins in Party Game and Limited Time Modes do not count towards this unlock requirement. Then you’re ready to play.

Ranked Play Security Requirements

When Multiplayer Ranked Play launches in Season 02, RICOCHET Anti-Cheat™ will require a stronger form of Remote Attestation for PC players, in partnership with Microsoft. This extra layer of protection sets a new standard for Ranked Play, building on our existing TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot requirements.

If you’re a PC player and need more information about security requirements, click here.

Placement Matches

How you earn your starting Rank has changed in Black Ops 7 Ranked Play with the addition of Placement Matches! Placement Matches get you into higher Ranks significantly faster than in Black Ops 6 and make starting your Ranked Play career easier than ever. Players start Unranked and must win three Placement Matches to receive a starting Rank. After each Placement Match Win, your Minimum Starting Rank will update to show a projection of where you’re expected to place. Win three Placement Matches to receive your starting Rank and begin your climb!

SR (Skill Rating)

When you receive a starting Rank, you’ll also receive a starting SR (Skill Rating) number. Your SR directly corresponds to your Rank and Tier:

  • Win to Earn SR: Earn SR after each Ranked Play win — the amount you receive is directly related to your performance in the match relative to the skill of the other players, your team’s margin of victory.
  • How SR is Calculated: If you’re seeing large SR gains after wins, it’s a good indicator that the Skill Rating system considers you to currently be a lower Rank than you deserve to be based on your recent performances. Continue to win matches to increase your SR and climb towards promotion into higher Ranks.
  • SR Losses: When you lose in Ranked Play, you’ll also lose SR. This is similarly determined by your performance and the other match factors outlined above.
  • Loss Forgiveness: Occasionally, an SR Loss will be forgiven to minimize frustration and ensure a fair playing field:
    • New Season Protection: Your first three Losses of the Season won’t result in SR Losses (kicks in after Placement Matches).
    • Rank Up Protection: If you get promoted into a higher Rank, your first 3 Losses in that new Rank won’t result in SR Losses.
    • Daily Loss Protection: Your first Loss of the Day won’t result in a SR loss.
    • Matchmade Teammate Quit: To reduce the frustration of having to play shorthanded, you will not lose SR if you lose a match where a matchmade teammate quit while the match was in progress. This does not apply if a player in your party quits, however.
    • Matchmade Teammate Rejoined: Your SR Loss is reduced in the case that a matchmade teammate quits but then rejoins the match later.

Ranks

Ranking System: Your SR directly corresponds to a Rank and Tier. Continue to win matches to increase your SR and work towards promotion into higher Ranks and Tiers:

  • Bronze
    • Bronze I: 0 SR | Bronze II: 300 SR | Bronze III: 600 SR
  • Silver
    • Silver I: 900 SR | Silver II: 1300 SR | Silver III: 1700 SR
  • Gold
    • Gold I: 2100 SR | Gold II: 2600 SR | Gold III: 3100 SR
  • Platinum
    • Platinum I: 3600 SR | Platinum II: 4200 SR | Platinum III: 4800 SR
  • Diamond
    • Diamond I: 5400 SR | Diamond II: 6100 SR | Diamond III: 6800 SR
  • Crimson
    • Crimson I: 7500 SR | Crimson II: 8300 SR | Crimson III: 9100 SR
  • Iridescent
    • 10,000 SR+

Top 250 Rank: Only the best of the best will claim a spot in the highest Rank: Top 250. Here players who’ve reached 10,000 SR (Iridescent Rank) are ranked by their current SR from #1-250. All Ranked players can follow along the battle for Top 250 #1 Overall via the Top 250 Leaderboard accessible via the Ranked Play menu. Active CDL Pros and CDL Broadcast Talent are visually called out in the Leaderboard with info cards so it’s easy to keep track of your favorite players and personalities over the course of the Season.

Hot Streak Flames: Win three matches in a row to earn a flaming Rank, which your teammates and rivals can see as one indication of your impressive skills! Continue winning to progress the Hot Streak Flames. Flames expire after a loss or after 72 hours.

Your Rank Each Season: Each Season of Ranked Play is its own skill journey and depending on your Rank you’ll need to re-place at the start of a new Season:

  • Bronze, Silver, and Gold Players: Your Rank and SR are not impacted at the start of a new Season, and you can continue where you left off at the end of the previous Season.
  • Platinum+ Players: You must win one Placement Match to get placed into a Rank and start the new Season.

Competitive Integrity Solo & Duo Parties Only in Higher Ranks: To ensure a fair playing field for players in the Top 250 and highest Ranks, only parties of 1-2 players will be allowed to form in Crimson Rank or above. Players in Diamond Rank or below will continue to be able to form 1-4 player parties as long as they fit within the Party Skill Restrictions:

  • Crimson Rank and Above: Can only form 1-2 player parties. Can only form parties with players within 1 Rank.
  • Diamond Rank: Can only form parties with players within 2 Ranks.
  • Bronze-Platinum Rank: No Party Skill Restrictions.
  • 4-Player Parties: Can form Ranked parties with any combination of Ranks as long as all players are Diamond Rank or below. Party will matchmake based on the highest Rank in the party.

Map and Mode Veto: Before each Ranked match, three map and mode combinations are presented in the Lobby and Ranked Play teams can vote to veto one of the presented options. After both teams make their veto pick, the remaining option is selected. If both teams veto the same option, the match’s map/mode will be randomly selected out of the two non-vetoed options.

Forfeit: Vote with your team to end a match early if your team is getting blown out, or you’ve lost a teammate. All teammates must vote for the Forfeit. Forfeited matches count as a standard loss and do not result in SR penalties or suspensions. Forfeit becomes available in the Options Menu at a designated point in each mode:

  • Hardpoint: Winning Team reaches 100 Points
  • Overload: After the First Round
  • Search & Destroy: After the Third Round

Rules and Restrictions Overview

It’s important you understand the ruleset of Ranked Play before you challenge the best Call of Duty players to a match or two:

  • Loadout and Restrictions: All Loadout content is unlocked in Ranked Play to ensure a fair playing field. Some items are restricted based on CDL rules and “Gentleman’s Agreements” (“GAs”) as decided by the CDL Pro player community:
  • Weapons: Only Assault Rifles, SMGs, Pistols, and Melee are allowed in Ranked Play. Snipers can be used in Search & Destroy but are restricted in Hardpoint and Overload. Individual Weapons in each of the above Weapon Classes are also restricted based on CDL Rules and “GAs”.
  • Attachments: Many Weapon Attachments are restricted in Ranked Play and cannot be used. You may bring a Weapon Builds with restricted Attachments into your Ranked Play Loadouts, but the problematic Attachment will be flagged and removed if you try to use it in-game.
  • Equipment, Field Upgrades, Perks & Scorestreaks: Individual Loadout and Scorestreak item types are also restricted for use in Ranked Play based on CDL Rules and “GAs.”
  • Wildcards: Only the Perk Greed Wildcard is currently allowed in Ranked Play according to CDL Rules and “GAs.” All other Wildcards are restricted.
  • Perk Combat Specialties: Core and Hybrid Perk Specialties are not used in Ranked Play and will not activate.
  • Overclocks: Overclocks are not used in Ranked Play.
  • Friendly Fire: Watch where you’re aiming! Friendly fire is enabled in Ranked Play.
  • Suspensions and Penalties: Disconnecting from matches, friendly fire, and inactivity will incur SR Penalties and Suspensions.

Map Update: Rebirth Island Winter Refresh (Launch)

Season 02 of Call of DutyWarzone™ begins with a snow-covered Rebirth Island winter refresh. It’s a cold, crisp day and you can almost feel the wind chill your bones.

The island now appears to be under Guild control, and NOVA 7 production has necessitated the processing and refining of vast quantities of sulfuric chemicals resulting in new structures and topographical changes, a number of [CLASSIFIED], and more surprises to discover.

New Point of Interest: Turbine

A large-scale Turbine along the north shore of the island has been developed by Guild forces, west of Industries, east of Dock, and due north from Prison. Offering enhanced rotational possibilities for the Operator, the exterior platforms and concrete bay house a large sulfur vat and a wall of “NOVA 7” canisters. Access the door controls and enter a small, windowless control room under the vat.

Move further along the gantry to access the main area; a gantry-connected building with a roughly hexagonal Sulfur Extraction chamber inside the island itself. Dominated by a massive central turbine, there are plenty of entrances and exits at various heights to ensure this is a well-traversed area. The previous waterlogged bunker has been filled in as the Guild’s sulfur extracting becomes this faction’s major focus.

Unmarked POI: Outpost

Enhanced loot, combat, and traversal opportunities are available in this unmarked point of interest that lies east of Stronghold, and southwest of Living Quarters. Previously a rough hillside promontory with difficult-to-navigate and exposed pathways, you can now seek additional cover at the jetty with three docking bays.

Further up the slope is a raised cargo bay, and a SAM battery; either side of the Outpost itself. This Comms edifice with a prototype laser cannon and radar dish offers robust protection and sits above a locked bunker.

Rebirth Island: Other Points of Interest

The rest of Rebirth Island is just as you remember it, though snow has drifted across the ground, and sightlines have improved somewhat. Here’s what to look for:

Stronghold: The southwestern tip of the map contains a helipad, maintenance warehouses, garage and comms tower, and are all intact and where you’d expect them to be. Expect high traffic to the southeast at the new unmarked jetty and Outpost (detailed above).

Living Quarters: There are additional exit routes across from the tents, medical huts, and the five color-coded personnel buildings have been renovated by the Guild to improve visibility for the player. A small Guild Outpost allows for easy traversing between here and the Stronghold POI. Operators should expect increased activity in the vicinity.

Control Center: Everyone’s favorite landing spot remains intact. This old, concrete edifice offers even clearer and crisp sightlines across to Prison and Living Quarters, or down to Stronghold and Dock.

Headquarters: The trio of highly tactical buildings (including “Grandma’s House”, the ruined communications building 03, and the “lighthouse” sniping tower) remain intact, unless of course, the tower falls during the initial infil.

Factory: The Guild container ship “Endeavour” has docked at Factory, a sprawling Guild-branded facility across from the snow-lined dockside and outbuildings, with the cargo area filled with Guild crates as the faction continues to secure the island.

Harbor: The turbine generator room (number 6) and dilapidated mechanical warehouse remain in the same shape as you remember them, though the ocean waters are freezing and the exterior dockside is windswept with snow.

Prison: The interlocking rabbit-warren of corridors, imposing cellblocks, exterior steps and ascenders, and the surrounding vicinity remains unchanged (aside for some reasonable sightlines to Turbine), and there’s still a chance an aerial bombardment demolishes the prison roof or water tower at the start of a match. But have all the prison’s secrets been revealed?

Dock: Another place to secure a Helicopter, The Aurora cargo ship is docked here, with Guild containers atop the deck and in the hold. Otherwise, this remains a low flanking route along the northwest side of the map.

Industries: Aside from some minor Guild equipment and rebranding along the main structure, this is just how you remember it, though long-range target acquisition is now available from the roof or helicopter promontory when aiming at enemies around the new Turbine location.

Chemical Engineering: Changes across this building can be considered minimal, though the top of the pitched roof allows for long-distance sniping to the upper exterior of the Turbine.

Bioweapons: Guild equipment has been positioned into this L-shaped building at the northeast end of the map, and each floor except the basement has been renovated by the Guild. It seems organic laboratory trials are under way. The flat roof has been given a fresh sealing, and the submarine docked to the north has departed.

Rebirth Island: Gameplay Features and Updates

A snow-covered Rebirth Island the familiar combat action you previously dropped into the map for, along with the following refinements and returning features:

  • Footprints in the Snow: In certain locations, deeper snow compacts under foot, meaning you can track player footfalls visually.
  • Enhanced Target Acquisition: Expect better and cleaner lines of sight for multiple reasons:
    • Snow: The layers of fallen snow allow you to focus on spotting enemies more easily.
    • Guild Renovations: Around five of the familiar POIs have been renovated by the Guild, and are architecturally more modern, brighter, and clearer.
    • Adjusted Lighting: A lack atmospheric fog across the entire island allows for some of the cleanest sightlines you’ve seen with the sun at the same angle as when the map first debuted in Black Ops Cold War.
  • Vehicular Routes: With the addition of snow jumps designed for vehicles, you’re more easily able to maneuver from one road to another.

Dynamic Infil Events Continue: Just as before, the island comes under attack as you drop into a match, with the possibility of the Water Tower, Prison roof, or Lighthouse collapsing after an aerial missile barrage.

Dynamic Infil Event: Infil Gas Explosions: Drop into Rebirth Island with your head on a swivel; a gas bomb may detonate at one of various locations, creating a spherical pocket of acrid gas that act as a choking hazard before dissipating as a match progresses.

Classic Blueprints (Hidden): Search the island for some hard-hitting and familiar Weapon Blueprints from past Call of Duty titles to use in the match!

  • Dotted around the island are a [CLASSIFIED] number of past weapon Blueprints familiar to Call of DutyWarzone fans, each cunningly stowed away.
  • Finding and picking up the weapon does not unlock it in your weapon collection; you can only use it for the remainder of the match.
  • These staged weapons are relevant to their map location, and are fan-favorite armaments from previous titles, and may come with any associated Tracers and Death Effects.
  • Expect weapons from Modern Warfare® 2Modern Warfare 3, and Black Ops 6.

Snowstorm Gas: The weather is about to take a turn for the worse during your Rebirth Island Winter matches as a dangerous snowstorm gradually swallows the island in poisonous, intense blizzard-like conditions. These act like a normal Circle Collapse, and Gas Masks, Decontamination Stations, and the Irradiated Perk (assuming these are active in your game mode) are all recommended if you’re caught near the vicinity.

Vehicles: Expect a similar pool of vehicles across Rebirth Island compared to previous battles, along with the TAV and RHIB for aquatic activities. Note the two land-based Polaris vehicles benefit from new topographical snow ramps dotted across the island, allowing easier navigation to the road structure. Here are the expected vehicles:

  • Tactical Amphibious Vehicle (TAV)
  • Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 (ATV)
  • Polaris RZR Pro R 4 (UTV)
  • RHIB (Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boat)
  • Heli

New Killstreak: RC-XD: The Black Ops 7 Scorestreak comes to Rebirth Island as available loot and performs in a similar way to its Multiplayer counterpart. Drop the vehicle and steer it to an intended target, using jumps and boosts to traverse the environment before delivering an explosive payload to the enemy. Immune to gas, but not to damage from enemy weaponry or Killstreaks.

New Killstreak: Smoke Screen: Smoke Screens are found as loot and purchased at Buy Stations, and when called in expect a single payload of five shells that detonate into smoke clouds in a slightly offset row, with each cloud lasting a few seconds, much like a smoke grenade, though it doesn’t impact your health.

Redacted Contracts (Launch)

Rebirth Island only

Begin a Redacted Contract without knowing the objectives by seeking out a specially marked Tablet with a “?” icon. Once started, a random objective is given, though players with experience completing a Bounty, Scavenger, or Recon Contract will know what to expect. The reward for taking a chance on a Redacted Contract is the usual reward, plus bonus in-match cash.

New Perks (Launch)

New Perks: Slot 1 Perk Refresh

Season 02 introduces a refresh to the Slot 1 Perk category, replacing several existing Perks with three new options designed to emphasize survivability, squad movement, combat awareness, and supports a distinct playstyle. Here are the Perks for Season 02 Launch:

Field Medic (Launch, Slot 1)

Replaces Veteran

Resistance-Enhancing Perk: Field Medic is built for players who thrive in high-pressure engagements and clutch revives. Reviving teammates is faster and more impactful, restoring momentum when it matters most. When you revive an ally, they immediately receive an inserted armor plate from their inventory and a brief movement speed boost to help them reposition. The same benefits apply when you’re revived, giving both of you a better chance to stay alive and rejoin the fight.

Beyond revives, Field Medic increases your bleed-out duration, giving your squad more time to bring you back, and provides resistance to several tactical effects, including Flash, Concussion, Gas, and Shock equipment. It’s a strong choice for a Squadmate in an aggressive squad that expects to trade downs and push through chaos.

Drill Instructor (Launch, Slot 1)

Replaces Grenadier

Agility-Enhancing Perk: Drill Instructor rewards constant movement and tight squad positioning. After sprinting for a short duration, you’ll begin regenerating health, allowing you to stay mobile without a reliance on cover. In addition, nearby allies gain movement speed and faster mantling, helping squads reposition quickly, scale terrain more efficiently, and maintain pressure during rotations or engagements.

These bonuses apply to allies within proximity and briefly persist after they move out of range, encouraging coordinated movement without requiring perfect formation. Drill Instructor effects do not stack, reinforcing its role as a single leadership-focused Perk within a squad.

Surveyor (Launch, Slot 1)

Replaces Cold-Blooded

Awareness-Enhancing Perk: Surveyor enhances situational awareness. When nearby opponents interact with Buy Stations or activate Contracts, they briefly appear on the map, offering insight into enemy positioning and intent. UAVs you deploy cover a larger area and your mini-map is zoomed out, always giving you a broader view of the area of operations.

Surveyor also highlights downed enemies through walls within closer range, making it easier to track threats during multi-squad fights and prevent unexpected revives. This Perk is ideal for players who value information, positioning, and anticipating enemy movement before engagements begin.

New Modes and Updates (Launch, In-Season)

Core Modes

From the launch of Season 02, you can expect a familiar variety of Call of DutyWarzone modes across three maps: Verdansk, Haven’s Hollow, and Rebirth Island (with its Winter update). Drop into the following Core Modes:

Battle Royale (150 Players, 25 Minute-matches): Quads, Trios, Duos, and Solos on Verdansk.

Resurgence (44 Players, 15 Minute-matches): Quads, Duos, and Solos on Haven’s Hollow and Rebirth Island.

Casuals (Players and Bots): Quads. Battle Royale Casual on Verdansk. Resurgence Casual on Haven’s Hollow and Rebirth Island.

Be sure to check your Socials and Raven Software’s Comms for weekly playlists and updates to Modes as Season 02 progresses!

New Core Mode: Ranked Play: Resurgence (Launch Window)

Trios, Haven’s Hollow

Rank up and prove your prowess as Ranked Play: Resurgence returns! This competitive game mode features skilled Trios dropping into Haven’s Hollow to prove their mettle: Compete in high-stakes, fast-paced matches built around a refined ruleset, with weapons restricted to those found in Black Ops 7, as well as some Perk and Attachment restrictions. Battle to increase your Skill Rating, earn exclusive rewards, and climb the Skill Divisions on your path toward the top.

How to Play and SR Requirements

In Resurgence Ranked Play, you’ll compete against players in similar Skill Divisions as you battle to earn Skill Rating (SR). SR is awarded for outlasting other squads, eliminating opponents, and completing in-match challenges with eliminations contributing to your entire squad’s SR total. The amount of SR earned from eliminations adjusts based on the division of the opponent you defeat, increasing when taking down higher-ranked players and decreasing against lower-ranked ones, with a maximum of 150 SR available per match. Starting in Silver, each match also carries a Deployment Fee, deducted at the beginning of the game.

Loaded Resurgence (Launch) and Loaded Resurgence Casual (In-Season), LTM

Rebirth Island, Quads, 32 Players (8 Squads)

Loaded Resurgence is a fast-paced variation on the classic Resurgence experience that drops players into the action fully Loadout-equipped from the start. Core Resurgence rules still apply — as long as one squadmate remains alive, fallen teammates can redeploy after a short countdown — but the immediate access to full loadouts accelerates engagements and rewards aggressive, coordinated play. There’s also a new way to earn all the Perks, if you complete the Specialist Quest!

  • Every time players eliminate an opponent, they earn an extra Perk, up the point where Specialist is awarded.
  • This Perk accumulation continues even if you’re eliminated!

Expect a higher-intensity Resurgence variant prioritizing momentum, mastery, and constant pressure. Drop in at launch, and with Bot opponents as well as real humans later in Season 02.

Rush Resurgence (Weekend LTM, In-Season)

Rebirth Island, Quads, 32 Players (8 Squads)

Ready for a quick drop? Rush Resurgence brings all the chaos of a fast-moving move, but in an even more rapid form:

  • Redeploy timing is reduced — allowing you back into the action with more haste — and disabled at the third Gas Circle.
  • There’s a Fire Sale Public Event at the second Gas Circle.
  • There are the same number of Gas Circles, but these close with a different timing:
    • They remain stationary for less time than normal (for example, the first Circle closes after around 45 seconds).
    • They take longer to close (for example, the first Circle takes two minutes to close).
  • This leads to matches ending in around half the time compared to normal Resurgence.

Extreme Resurgence (Weekend LTM, Mid-Season)

Haven’s Hollow, Quads, 100 Players (25 Squads)

Simply put: Mayhem. All the usual Resurgence rules apply as you drop into Haven’s Hollow with regular loot, Gas Circle activity, Contracts, and Public Events intact, but there’s one important different: A massive influx of Operatives: Instead of the usual 52 Operators (13 Squads), expect double the number to drop in; 25 Squads and 100 total players ready to battle for ultimate supremacy!

Iron Gauntlet Beta (In-Season, Mid-Season)

Verdansk, Duos, 150 Players (75 Squads)

Drop into Verdansk later in the season with heightened intensity and competitive Battle Royale ruleset designed to test your gun skill, positioning, and decision-making, rather than luck. You’ll need an iron will and a trusted squadmate to survival these trials

  • Scarce resources: This is a high-stakes drop in a survival-focused environment where every decision counts.
  • Competitive Duos: The last squad standing wins.
  • Rapid Collapse: Circles collapse more rapidly than normal BR, leading to more frequent engagements.
  • Earn that loot: There are no free Loadout drops and Buy Station prices are increased.
  • Don’t rely on a ride: Only Bikes and ATVs are available.
  • TTK Delay: Base health has been raised (from 150 to 300 units). Regeneration delay has been adjusted, and regeneration rate has been reduced; all designed to slow down TTK.
  • Loot rebalancing: Epic and Legendary weapons spawn less often, and Killstreaks as well as Cash drops are rarer. Weapons are from the Black Ops 7 pool. Common weapons usually start with extended mags and iron sights (primarily for ARs and SMGs). There are no Perks in loot.
  • Tough But Fair: One-hit kill protection is enabled. Stim shot has been removed.
  • Returning Mechanics: The Gulag, Contracts, and respawn mechanics are the same as the main Call of DutyWarzone Battle Royale mode.

Note: Iron Gauntlet will be in Beta at launch: This is the first playable iteration of a Mode we will continue to refine before it returns in a later Season with updates based on your feedback. This Mode is also planned to form the basis for an expansive new aspect of the game! Play this mode, and let us know how you’re liking the loot, game economy, TTK, and other elements that interest you.

A New Battle Royale Experience (Mid-Season)

Mid-Season introduces a brand-new Battle Royale experience with the arrival of the Avalon map in Call of DutyWarzone. Built from the ground up, this is a new Mode that draws inspiration from Call of Duty’s Battle Royale origins, Black Ops 4 Blackout. More details will be revealed at Season 02 Reloaded.

Primary Weapon: REV-46 (Launch)

SMG, Battle Pass Page 3 HVT, Page 11 HVT Battle Pass and BlackCell Blueprint

Levels: 34

MAGS: 4

MAG SIZE: 35

Mastery Badges: Yes

Attachments: Optic, Muzzle, Barrel, Underbarrel, Magazine, Rear Grip, Stock, Laser, Fire Mods

Customize Options: Blueprints, Camos and Reticle Unlocks (CM, MP, ZM, WZ), Accessories (1), Decals (1), Stickers (3).

Full-auto submachine gun. Extremely fast fire rate. Switch between a folded and unfolded stock position to change handling and recoil characteristics.

Sporting the highest fire rate in its class at a blazing fast 1,111 rpm, the REV-46 is flexible both literally and figuratively, with a stock you can fold and unfold. This is an excellent hit-and-run companion weapon when the stock is folded, and offers impressive recoil control, supporting accurate fire off the hip and down sights, with the stock unfolded.

The weapon’s foldable stock makes the REV-46 extremely versatile, allowing you to alter its characteristics to best match your environment. Its advantages are balanced out by a lower damage output. Aim in, make your shots count, and take them out.

A Weapons Matrix and Camo Tracker is available for this weapon here.

Prestige Attachment

Customize Options: Blueprints, Camo and Reticle Unlocks (CM, MP, ZM, WZ), Accessories (1), Decals (1), Stickers (3).

Full-auto assault rifle. Fires superheated rounds that ricochet off solid surfaces.

Second only to the Peacekeeper MK1 in fire rate, the EGRT-17 Assault Rifle rapidly outputs rounds, dealing impressive damage to the body and head, with the added feature of ricocheting rounds to catch enemy targets in the rebound. Despite its high fire rate, the EGRT-17 offers highly accurate recoil control, offset by a slower reload time. For Operators looking to down enemies with quick, accurate fire, this is one to take to the range.

A Weapons Matrix and Camo Tracker is available for this weapon here.

Prestige Attachment

Fire Mods > MFS Heated Echo Rounds

Heated energy ammo that bounces more effectively against surfaces. Most effective when firing on the ground in front of the target.

Melee, Battle Pass Page 10

Levels: 30

Mastery Badges: Yes

Attachments: None

Customize Options: Blueprints.

Melee weapon. High damage, moderate to long range, and slow to moderate attack speed.

Hack up the competition with a rotating saw that makes short work of enemies. The H311-SAW shares a similar damage profile as the Knife and Flatline Mk.II, but with a longer reach and a slightly slower attack speed, and the results are messier. Take hold of the deadly weapon and slice your way to victory.

A Weapons Matrix and Camo Tracker is available for this weapon here.

Camos Confirmed: Weapon Prestige > H311-SAW

The Universal Weapon Prestige Camos for the H311-SAW (above): Prestige 1: “Swamp.” Prestige 2: “High Voltage” (Animated, First Seen in Black Ops 4), Prestige Max: “Tasty.”

Customize Options: Blueprints, Camo Unlocks (MP, ZM, WZ), Accessories (1), Decals (1), Stickers (3).

Pump-action grenade launcher. Grenades stick to solid surfaces and can be remote detonated. No ADS.

Enjoy the look on the enemy’s faces as you fire flashing sticky grenades that latch onto the first solid surface they encounter. Shoot volleys of them at enemy targets, use them as traps on the ground and walls, and pull the trigger to set them off.

Prestige Attachment

Magazine > MFS Airstrike Mag

Improves offensive abilities through a modified projectile that travels faster, can bounce off surfaces, and can be detonated sooner. An increased inner damage radius improves the chance to deal max damage to nearby targets.

Camos Confirmed: Weapon Prestige > GDL Havoc

The Universal Weapon Prestige Camos for the GDL Havoc (above): Prestige 1: “Textile.” Prestige 2: “Navy.” Prestige Max: “Flamingo” (Animated).

Semi-auto shotgun. Well-rounded for mid-range performance.

Unleash on enemy Operators with the SG-12, offering a much higher fire rate compared to the other currently available semi-auto Shotguns in addition to providing the longest effective damage range in its class. With eight rounds in the magazine, you can pepper foes with rapid successive shots, balanced by a lower overall damage output compared to the other Shotguns.

Prestige Attachment

Laser > MFS Pulse Fire Taclight

Dedicated flashlight that improves firepower through the addition of binary trigger firing functionality and tactical stance at the expense of damage range. Flashlight is visible in ADS.

Camos Confirmed: Weapon Prestige > SG-12

The Universal Weapon Prestige Camos for the SG-12 (above): Prestige 1: “Chrysalis” (First seen in Black Ops 4). Prestige 2: “Rocket Box.” (First seen in Black Ops 4). Prestige Max: “Shimmer” (First seen in Black Ops 4).

Primary Weapon: Voyak KT-3 (Mid-Season)

Assault Rifle, Event Reward

Customize Options: Blueprints, Camos and Reticle Unlocks (CM, MP, ZM, WZ), Accessories (1), Decals (1), Stickers (3).

Full-auto assault rifle. High damage and excellent handling, with slower fire rate and moderate to high recoil.

Expect a full reveal at Season 02 Reloaded. Expect an impressive Assault Rifle with characteristics that aren’t too dissimilar to the AK-27, but with a slightly slower rate of fire, and a shorter range. However, the Voyak KT-3 also shares some advantageous attributes with the Peacekeeper AR, offering a similar level of fast handling and mobility.

Customize Options: Skins, Camos and Reticle Unlocks (CM, MP, ZM, WZ), Accessories (1), Decals (1), Stickers (3).

4-round burst marksman rifle. Fast cyclic fire rate and minimal recoil, but slower mobility and handling.

When it comes to recoil control, no other Marksman Rifle comes close to the Swordfish A1, a deadly accurate weapon that fires rapid quad bursts that stay on target inflicting punishing damage on enemies hit by all four rounds. It beats out the comparable M8A1 for overall damage output at the cost of a longer burst delay and slower mobility.

Prestige Attachment

Fire Mods > MFS Penta Burst Mod

The combat benefits of this Attachment have been deemed [CLASSIFIED].

Camos Confirmed: Weapon Prestige > Swordfish A1
