The Superstore has multiple open shelves, both at ground level and above, which can make for some unique engagement opportunities. If you sense that an enemy is within the store, it doesn’t hurt to check every aisle, or use a tool that can give recon such as a UAV or Heartbeat Sensor.
Thirty-five self-storage garages are in Storage Town. Almost all of them have at least one garage door open… With their wares available to the first team who can collect them. Leave no storage locker unchecked in Storage Town, lest you miss out on some Legendary Items.
Those who remember the “current” Downtown will find the streets in 1984 to be a bit cleaner. While great for driving your own vehicles through the streets, note that the cleaner streets will offer less cover opportunities, leaving you potentially exposed to snipers on the rooftops.
Notice a room with a view? The Apartment Block near the Ferris Wheel is one of many areas around Verdansk that contains a new landing with a window. Use it to snipe out of the building more safely or get a sense of where enemies are before continuing a climb to the top.
Before the Barakett Market set up shop, Central Square Park offered lush open green spaces. This is great for taking a stroll, but not so much for taking cover; stick to the walls and head for landmarks within the park, such as the monument, to hide from enemies lurking in nearby buildings.
The foothills of the Salt Mine may leave you completely exposed, but still has incredible views over the potential action down below. Just watch your six when you’re up here: you’ll have to set up some protection or a buddy behind you, as there isn’t a border to save you from a flank from the north.
This area may be one of the most unique within Verdansk, but don’t feel overwhelmed: there are plenty of familiar buildings, such as police stations, fire stations, pharmacies, and a video store, that can help ease you into fights in the big city.
Should a Circle Collapse deem the dense woods of West Verdansk a safe haven, prepare for long-range sniper duels from the map’s edge line. Use the points of interest out here as cover, in addition to the rocks and trees that populate this border.
Elevator shafts and the ends of exterior ascenders are a prime place to set up an ambush or protection via equipment pieces. Be cautious when deciding to head up a building using these fast modes of transportation it may be a safer option to take the stairwell and potentially flank those in waiting.
