A large flood plain of commercial structures, residential high-rise tenement blocks, and two graveyards (one filled with the long-dead, the other with plane parts). The main airport is also here, and ablaze. Welcome to West Sector.

The western edge of Verdansk is comprised of a mainly flat flood-plain south of the Gora River. It is dominated by the large International Airport, now partially in ruins and ripe to become a conflagration zone. East is the sprawling Airport Maintenance yard, and south is a commercial district comprised of a large Storage Town, and the one-stop shop known as the Atlas Superstore. Further south still are the initial residential areas of West Verdansk; the Torsk Bloc of tenement housing, and structures surrounding the main Graveyard. Try not to join the long deceased. Over on the more rural western edge of the map are warehouses, a small wind farm, and another cemetery; this one filled with the skeletons of rusting airlines, known to locals as Zhokov Boneyard.

Pro Tips

Tip #146

Use the Full Map

Tac Map: Atlas

If you are the leading team in Plunder and need extra Cash, or want to avoid confrontation, consider exploring the far-flung areas of Verdansk away from the action. They could have unopened Supply Boxes or Contracts that could provide that final push without much confrontation.

Up in the Woods

Tip #195

Up in the Woods

SECTOR 2: VERDANSK WEST ZONE 2G: TORSK BLOC

Snipers will find the vista from the Upper Woods area an underrated part of the Torsk Bloc zone. Come here after you loot the Bloc for a sniper rifle or other long-range weapon, and you may get some intel on potential enemies at the Hospital, Train Yard, or Airport Maintenance.

Towering Over the Junkyard

Tip #186

Towering Over the Junkyard

SECTOR 2: VERDANSK WEST ZONE 2C: JUNKYARD

The various structures in the Junkyard don’t have verticality, save for the Comms Tower. It can give you incredible sights over most of Verdank’s West side but will leave you with little cover... Be sure to coordinate with your teammates if you decide to take the climb up here.

As Seen in Ground War

Tip #154

As Seen in Ground War

Tac Map: Atlas

Enjoying the Zhokov Boneyard? What about Port of Verdansk? Those locales, and more, also appear as maps in Ground War, a five flag objective Multiplayer game mode. If you're interested in studying up on multiple Warzone locations, consider getting the full version of Modern Warfare and playing Ground War.

Where Am I?

Tip #148

Where Am I?

Tac Map: Atlas

You can quickly learn where you are in Verdansk by a few area markers: each major location has a name over it while infiltrating the Warzone, the Tac Map also has these major location names, and, at the top of your HUD, it will show the area you are currently in when applicable.

Steps Away from the Stadium

Tip #223

Steps Away from the Stadium

SECTOR 4: VERDANSK CENTRAL AND SOUTH ZONE 4B: BLOC 6

Although the Stadium is a massive landmark landing site, those who see too many people landing there could alternatively land in its nearby Suburbs, otherwise known as Bloc 6. It has plenty of buildings to loot from, and is only steps away from the usually more contested Stadium area.

Out on the Yard

Tip #253

Out on the Yard

SECTOR 5: VERDANSK EAST ZONE 5E: ZORDAYA PRISON COMPLEX

The Zordaya Prison Complex Yard can hold valuable loot and even vehicles, but the guard towers and wall can house enemy sharpshooters. Be cautious when wandering out onto the yard, lest you be sent to the Gulag.

An Aside on Riverside

Tip #162

An Aside on Riverside

SECTOR 1: VERDANSK NORTH ZONE 1B: BLOC 23, JARVDINSK SPOMENIK, RIVERSIDE

If you want to potentially get the jump on players at the Dam or other points northwest, skip them and land towards Riverside. With it being at a less extreme location on the map and having plenty of buildings for loot opportunities, your squad could set some ambushes for enemies sprinting towards a safe zone.

Terrace on the Tavorsk Park

Tip #237

Terrace on the Tavorsk Park

SECTOR 4: VERDANSK CENTRAL AND SOUTH ZONE 4E: TAVORSK PARK AND STYOR SPOMENIK

The Styor Spomenik has one of the best vista points over the park by way of its spiral staircase. Those with long-range loadouts should gravitate towards here when on the hunt within this area.

Towers of Power

Tip #167

Towers of Power

SECTOR 1: VERDANSK NORTH ZONE 1C: ARKLOV PEAK MILITARY BASE

The two Comms Towers are the highest points within the Military Base area. Although they come with a bit of risk, snipers who want to scout ahead for their squad should definitely put both of these points of interest on their radar.
