Because the various apartment buildings within the Barakett Promenade look the same, your squad may be confused if you tell them you are “in an apartment.” So, it may be good to ping the exact area you are in, or use the compass or surrounding points of interest as guideposts.
The massive runway could be an extremely deadly area; not taking cover behind the dolosse and whatever else is scattered on it might leave you open to enemies in the Terminal or Control Tower. In other words, it’s best to clear the runway.
The Dam isn’t just a massive concrete barrier; at its foot, there’s a generator chamber and underground tunnels to explore: These may just contain the loot you are looking for.
Verdansk Hospital’s Northwest Tower has the best high ground spot in the Southwest, allowing you to see over to Downtown, the Promenade, and points west. While up here, use the perimeter wall and hospital letters for cover, lest you end up in the ER.
The watchtower in the woods north of Quarry has an incredible view of its northeastern section. If the collapse isn’t an issue and you like to snipe, consider finding it after you get a loadout that’s appropriate for extreme long-range combat.
If you parachute from the Atlas Superstore – especially from the pitched roof – you can land on top of the roof sections in the Parking Lot. Here, you could get some unique high ground against enemies within the lot or that are checking out of the Superstore.
The Switchbacks and Trails/Karst Transformer locations both have incredible sightlines over to the TV Station and Stadium, two main stops before hitting downtown. Given their obscurity, it may not be a bad idea to scout here prior to your assault on either locale.
One of the secluded locales of Bloc 18 is the Camping Overlook, which has fantastic views of the Stadium and Karst River Bridge. Should your squad be roaming around the Northeast, consider stopping here and taking overwatch before advancing forward.
Although there are no buildings around it, the Crash Site should be on your stop list when travelling through North Verdansk. The downed plane’s fuselage may have some untouched loot that could be what you need to finish your loadout.
Travelling along the frozen Gora River? You may want to take cover within the Frozen Islands; they are pretty much your only source of cover when traversing down the river, which is on low ground compared to the surrounding areas.
