Starting with Season 1 of Modern Warfare 4, a new Operator Skin toggle gives players more control over the Operators they see in Call of Duty: Warzone only, while Carry Forward continues to provide access to previously earned and purchased content.
Over the last few years, Call of Duty®: Warzone™ has brought together Operators, weapons, and experiences from across recent Call of Duty titles in one shared experience. We know some players enjoy that variety, while others would prefer Call of Duty: Warzone feel more aligned with the world of the latest release, including the upcoming Modern Warfare® 4.
With the launch of the next chapter of Call of Duty: Warzone, we aim to support both player preferences. Starting with Season 1 of Modern Warfare 4, we’re giving players more control over how Call of Duty: Warzone looks and feels with a new Operator Skin toggle function.
Operator Skin Toggle in Call of Duty: Warzone
This all-new filter has been built specifically for the Modern Warfare 4 chapter, giving players more control over the Operator Skins they see in Call of Duty: Warzone only. When toggled on, the filter displays only Modern Warfare 4 Operators in-game, giving players the choice to see other Operator Skins in the game:
When the toggle is set to ON:
- Enemies: If a player sees another Operator in-game or in-lobby that is using an Operator or Operator Skin that is not from Modern Warfare 4 (for example, a Black Ops 6 Operator Skin), they will instead see a MW4 Operator.
- Parties and Squads: If a player's party member has a non-Modern Warfare 4 Operator or Operator Skin equipped, the player with the toggle on will still see a MW4 Operator. This also applies to your in-game Squad.
- Self: If a player equips a non-Modern Warfare 4 Operator, they will still see the Operator they equipped and the Operator will not change to a MW4 Operator.
The toggle will be set to OFF by default, and your own Operator will not be affected.
Operators and Weapons from Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Black Ops 6, and Black Ops 7 will remain available in Call of Duty: Warzone starting with Season 1, including the Skins, Blueprints, and Camos you’ve earned and purchased for them. The collection you’ve built remains yours to use, and existing plans for Carry Forward for previous titles are not affected with this update.
Carry Forward Plans for Call of Duty: Warzone
All weapons from Modern Warfare II through Black Ops 7 will continue to be accessible through the Legacy tab in the Loadout menu of Call of Duty: Warzone. While these Weapons remain available to use, Gunsmith functionality and prior Custom Loadouts will not be supported for legacy Weapons or legacy Blueprints. However, these won’t be left as base Weapons without Attachments; instead a five-attachment version of each legacy base Weapon will be available, as well as any Blueprint for a legacy Weapon with their existing Attachment setups.
Our goal for this chapter of Call of Duty: Warzone is for the weapon meta to feel distinctly rooted in Modern Warfare 4, while preserving access to nostalgic choices that players know and love. Raven Software will continue to deliver on its commitment to balancing weapons on a biweekly basis, keeping the MW4 weapon lineup fluid and interesting throughout each season.
We’ll have more to share about our plans during the Modern Warfare 4 year in the coming weeks.
