Like the mighty Cerberus (or CRBR-S?), “Mauer der Toten” shook the ground within the Zombies community when it first launched as part of Call of Duty®: Black Ops Cold War’s Season Four Reloaded.

The latest round-based Zombies experience since “Firebase Z” is a true monster of a map, granting us unexpected twists in the greater Dark Aether storyline, new weapons, mechanics, and undead foes to slay, and most importantly for the Prestige Primer, new Requiem Advancement Challenges to complete.

With that said, there’s no time to waste in saving Raptor-1 – let’s level up:

This Week’s Featured Operators

Three Operators star in our Prestige Primer’s cover image, the first being NATO’s John Baker in his spiffy “Financier” Operator Skin, part of the Bank Heist II Store Bundle that dropped earlier this week. This bundle also comes with the Epic “Cash Back” SMG Blueprint and “Dollar Bill” Reticle among other items, so pick it up in the Store if you’re looking to make it rain all over the competition.

While you’re there, check out the Franchise tab and consider picking up the Special Ops Pro Pack, a unique six-item Store Bundle that can be purchased for USD $19.99 or your regional equivalent. In addition to giving back 2,400 COD Points that can be used toward a Battle Pass or another Store Bundle, this pack comes complete with the new “Hypersonic” Portnova skin, two sleek Legendary Weapon Blueprints, and a couple of other items to complete your pro-level player profile.

Speaking of the pros, the Call of Duty League is currently in its final regular season weekend of 2021 with the Seattle Surge Home Series. There are still plenty of matches coming up that can affect seeding for both the Stage V Major and the Call of Duty League Championship, including a surefire instant classic when OpTic Chicago take on the Los Angeles Thieves this Saturday night at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET.

If you haven’t already tuned into the Home Series yesterday, be sure to watch it today, tomorrow, and Sunday starting at 12 PM PT on the League’s official website or YouTube channel, and don’t forget to sync your account to receive in-game rewards* like Double XP Tokens that can speed up your drive to Prestige Master!

Top Tip – Completing the “Mauer der Toten” Report

After getting excited for the new League Play rewards last week, it’s about time we turned our attention to Season Four Reloaded’s marquee experience: “Mauer der Toten.”

This past week, Requiem’s most elite agents solved Treyarch’s latest intricate Main Quest, leaving us with plenty of questions about the Dark Aether storyline despite saving the best pilot in the business: Raptor-1.

However, with Free Access Week for Black Ops Cold War kicking off yesterday until July 29, agents of all skill levels are joining Requiem’s ranks to join the fight against Omega Group and explore the unknown of the Dark Aether. That may include you, and if you’re looking for some guideposts for what to look for in “Mauer der Toten,” then look to the Challenges section in the main Zombies menu and the “Mauer der Toten” Report within the Requiem Advancement section.

Here are the challenges that you’ll find there, as well as a mostly-spoiler-free guide to completing them:

Broken Seal – Unlock the Pack-a-Punch

You might complete this challenge naturally, as the game directs you toward unlocking the Pack-a-Punch when playing “Mauer der Toten.”

Look to our “Mauer der Toten” guide if you need any additional help in unlocking the Pack-a-Punch, and while you’re there, you can learn about all the Wall Buy and Perk Machine locations up to that point, in addition to some background information as to what’s happening in Berlin.

Unsafe House / Hidden Agenda / Forsaken Harbringer – Collect 21 Requiem Intel / 16 Omega Intel / 11 Dark Aether Intel

Intel can be gathered in several ways within the map. For the sake of avoiding spoilers, we’ll just cover two of the more obvious ones.

First, Special and Elite Zombies, like Tempests or Krasny Soldats, can randomly drop Intel, such as Requiem or Omega Documents.

Also, like in “Firebase Z” and “Die Maschine,” there is a radio box placed in a Military Tent within East Berlin that has several Radio Transmission recordings. Interact with it every game to get some Omega Group Intel, which also helps you understand why you’re here working for them in the first place.

Other than these methods, you’ll have to dig deep into “Mauer der Toten” to find the rest of the Intel. Keep your eyes peeled not just for quest steps, but also Intel pieces that may be hiding around the map.

Tourist – Travel to every area in a single game.

Like all the Intel challenges, this one has to be broken down carefully as to not ruin any surprises.

You’ll complete this challenge naturally by proceeding through the steps of the Main Quest. Part of this involves finding a way to bring Klaus back to life and out of captivity within the Safe House.

Those looking for direct help with this can look to those who have already uncovered the secrets of “Mauer der Toten” and documented their accomplishments publicly... or you can always discover the steps on your own!

Grand Prize – Choose the door with the best prize.

We admit it: we want to help you complete these challenges as much as possible, but don’t want to ruin the discovery of “Mauer der Toten.” With that said, we’re ready to partially declassify this challenge and pull back the curtain on one of our favorite ongoing Easter Eggs if you’re looking for some help.

Everybody loves Mister Peeks, the blue rabbit that you’ve probably spotted more than a few times in Zombies already. You may have seen him sitting atop the Mystery Box in “Die Maschine” or seen his dark side in “Firebase Z,” and in “Mauer der Toten,” his nightlife personality comes out if you choose to stitch him back together again.

Mister Peeks has six body parts strewn about the city. Look for blue bunny pieces all around East Berlin, West Berlin, and the underground beneath the city, including the Sewer Access, Department Store, and Bar areas. When you see a piece of him, interact with it and it’ll disappear in a puff of smoke. Do this all six times, and you’ll be “warped” (with a similar effect to entering the Dark Aether) to Mister Peeks’ exclusive nightclub.

Of course, this dance party comes with a cover charge: when the music plays, the dancing zombies start attacking. There are three distinct waves of combat, each with a “mini-boss” in the form of a Special or Elite enemy. You’ll gain no Essence for kills and must expend your ammo and equipment to survive, but fortunately, you’ll get a Max Ammo power-up no matter if you slay every last zombie or fail to do so before the hidden time limit runs out.

As a token of appreciation for surviving his game, you’ll have the option of choosing one of three doors to win some fabulous rewards – and this is where the “Grand Prize” comes into play.

Each door has a chance of dropping rewards with varying degrees of “grandness.” The true “Grand Prize” might have something to do with the awesome new Wonder Weapon introduced with this map, but you’ll know it when you see the Calling Card reward pop-up.

Complete all the “Mauer der Toten” Report challenges, and you’ll earn a monstrous animated Calling Card featuring an Orda hulking over the streets of Berlin. This Calling Card should be seen as a badge of honor on your profile, but that’s not all there is to unlock as part of this new experience… you’ll have to find out those secrets for yourself.

Gunsmith Weapon Blueprint of the Week

You came to this Prestige Primer for Zombies tips, so let’s set you up with a killer tactical rifle weapon that can help you CARV up all sorts of undead threats.

Earlier this week, the Biker Babes Reactive Bundle came to the Store with an Ultra-rarity Reactive Weapon Blueprint for lone post-launch Tactical Rifle in Black Ops Cold War.

As is, the “Clutch Play” is a superb five-attachment setup for Multiplayer, and could find its way to being a strong primary weapon for Warzone.

For Zombies, however, let’s break this down attachment-by-attachment, especially since this can help with one of the later-level Seasonal Challenges (spoiler alert: that’s covered in the next Prestige Primer).

Optic: Any and all Optics can work here if you have the Tactical Rifle Skill at Tier III, especially the Thermal sight, as it will help you towards completing the “Infradead” Seasonal Challenges.

Muzzle: Suppressors, such as the Agency Suppressor from the “Konsole” Weapon Blueprint, boost Equipment Drop Rate, an ever-helpful bonus when you’re using them against hordes. Be mindful, though, of the reduction in damage range or bullet velocity, which may affect your long-range engagements.

Barrel: The “Clutch Play” has a Match Grade Barrel, which significantly boosts damage range to take advantage of the tactical rifle Skills boost to long-range damage. Also consider using a Barrel that boosts fire rate or, as we have here in our frankenweapon creation, the Cavalry Lancer Barrel from the “Refined Finish” Weapon Blueprint, which increases damage against armored enemies.

Body: The Tiger Team Spotlight from the “Clutch Play” is a gold standard for Salvage collecting, so keep that on there if you can. Otherwise, if you like hip-firing occasionally against massive groups of zombies, then pick up a Laser like the Ember Sighting Point.

Underbarrel: To keep this weapon’s bursts and re-centering tight between them, we find ourselves going toward the Field Agent Grip, which reduces both vertical and horizontal recoil. The Foregrip also does a fine job at reducing horizontal recoil, or you could opt for a Speedgrip to also gain some speed in addition to taming the weapon’s kick.

Magazine: The biggest fast magazine possible is always a great option for a horde-based mode like Zombies, but you may want to consider smaller options, such as the 60 Rnd Speed Mag, as it only hinders your Aim Down Sight speed slightly.

Handle: Speaking of Aim Down Sight speed, anything that quickens it is something we’re interested in across all game modes. Here, we look no further than the Airborne Elastic Wrap, which also gives us the ability to dropshot with a bit of flinch resistance for when a zombie lands a bullseye with whatever they throw at us (and honestly, we don’t want to know exactly what they throw at us).

Stock: We slapped on the Duster Pad, which increases Slide Speed, from the “Refined Finish” Weapon Blueprint, just to give us a bit more mobility with this weapon. Alternatively, you could use attachments that boost Sprint-to-Fire Speed, which can be extremely helpful in earlier rounds when you’ve yet to get a few Perk-a-Colas in you.

Execute the mission.
