This new upgraded version of the classic Alcatraz map is similarly a mid-sized area that’s filled with Buy Stations, UAV towers, unique loot, and even a new boss - all primed DMZ Recon in Call of Duty: Mobile. Stick to the outer edges of the map and explore the safer areas, or head to the center of the island to enter the high-risk Prison POI. This guide will cover it all and provide the tools you need in order to navigate Rebirth Island. Read further to see exactly what each icon represents on the Tac Map.
There are 9 POIs to explore on Rebirth Island, click/tap on each of the names to find out a bit more about them. These are the same as in Battle Royale too, but there are some modifications and unique changes for DMZ: Recon specifically around the Prison area. So, get the lay of the land early to give yourself a leg up on your enemies.
Buy Stations are necessary to keep yourself geared up for the firefights ahead. Re-up your Loadout with Equipment, Armor Plates, Ammo, and Scorestreaks. It all costs money, but it is the key to survival during a long match and likely to be a hot-spot also sought after by enemy squads.
In Battle Royale, these act similar to other BR modes where the final circle can end up in many different places and the radiation zone is somewhat dynamic.
In DMZ Recon, the radiation zone uniquely closes around the island like rising water. First triggered by an in-game moment where an explosion is seen in the horizon, afterwards the radiation slowly envelopes the island starting at the shoreline and closing in synchronously until only the Prison remains.
UAV Towers are the ultimate source of intel. In order to find these locations scattered around the map, look for the tower icon. Interacting with one pings enemy locations in the area around the tower. Once enabled, enemy players will be able to see that the UAV Tower has been turned on. So, they will know to either avoid that area or hunt you down because they know someone must be around. Use this to your advantage.
One of the reasons the updated Prison POI is labeled as “high danger” is because it is also where Nikto, the new Boss, resides. First you’ll have to use the first terminal in a two-part extraction process, with the first terminal residing inside of the Prison, and then you’ll head to the roof.
Waiting on the roof is Nikto, guarding the second extraction terminal with his durable riot shield and equipped with a powerful pistol. Fighting him is no easy task as he also has aerial support that will help him take down any players trying to escape. Once Nikto is eliminated, this new extraction (Exfil) point will be available to all players.
Exfils, aka Extraction Zones, are indicated by the blue and black icon. There are several different types of Exfils on this map, each with their own indicator and countdown, but they are more static compared to Serpent Island with one Exfil on the north side, near Bioweapons, and one Exfil on the south side near Stronghold.
Outside of that, there is also the unique Exfil point that is only accessible through the Prison POI. This Exfil requires you to open the gates to the Prison, find the computer terminal on the bottom floor, interact with it, head to the roof, defeat Nikto (the new boss), and then Exfil from the roof via the green smoke.
