Many parts of Verdansk North, especially the School and Riverside, are also featured in Co-Op Special Operations within Operations Kuvalda, Harbinger, and Brimstone. If you have the full Modern Warfare experience, you can hop into those operations and explore the area further before dropping into it for Warzone.
Craving some close-quarters combat? Coax the enemy team to meet you in the Training Course, which is fairly cluttered and complex for being such a small footprint in Verdansk. Just watch out for any operators who may be refereeing from the watchtower.
If getting to the ground as quickly as possible is important – i.e. you want to beat enemies to a loot drop or a team firefight is happening – try pointing your Operator down to the ground during a free-fall and deploying your parachute at a lower altitude.
The best squads move in sync and watch each other’s backs whenever one is looting, going for a revive, or during combat. If you want to succeed in a Battle Royale match, keep those communication lines open and protect your squadmates as you would protect yourself.
In a game where you find it’s your Operator against the world, intel becomes the most powerful weapon for survival. Along with paying attention to the Tac Map and Compass, be especially thorough about finding, and equipping, reconnaissance tools such as the Recon Drone, Heartbeat Monitor, and UAV.
Pay close attention to your HUD for additional button prompts, lest you miss a grenade icon and get blown to bits. Furthermore, when your HUD flashes red, it means you are taking damage; the direction of where these red flashes come from indicate where you are taking fire from. Use this to take proper cover and call out enemies.
Field Upgrades may be rarer finds than weapons or equipment, but these one-time use tools can significantly help in keeping you and your trio alive. If you already have one, be sure to ping additional ones for squadmates so you have as much utility as possible for the long road to victory.
There is another empty office just outside of what we all know as Vacant. This building provides excellent sightlines and could be a great counter-sniping position against a team that has taken control of the Vacant building area.
Scrapyard will be familiar ground for Call of Duty veterans, which may make it a hotly contested area if it is part of the safe area. Prepare for close quarters combat within the fuselages, warehouses, and office… And don’t forget to check the catwalk of Scrapyard Warehouse 3, one that’s been a notorious sniper perch for decades.
