Pre-orders and pre-purchases are rolling live for XBOX Series X|S, XBOX on PC, PlayStation 5, Battle.net, and Steam as of today, May 28. Note that it may take some time for pre-order pages to fully cascade across these platforms and by region. Continue to check-in throughout the day if you don't immediately see pages live for your platform of choice.
What Platforms are Modern Warfare 4 Available on?
Modern Warfare 4 is now available for pre-order or pre-purchase on the following platforms:

Modern Warfare 4 will be available for pre-order on Nintendo® Switch 2 later this year.
Modern Warfare 4 will not be available on previous-generation consoles, XBOX One and PlayStation 4.
Modern Warfare 4 will not be available on Game Pass at launch.

What are the Pre-order and Vault Edition Benefits?
Let’s take a closer look at the rewards and bonus content included with your pre-order or pre-purchase, as well as Vault Edition content:
Early Access to the Open Beta*
Pre-order or Pre-purchase: Digital Standard, Vault, or Physical Standard Edition
Availability: At the start of the Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta, later this year.
Pre-order any of the three editions of Modern Warfare 4 on your available platform of choice to secure early access to the Open Beta. Exact Beta timing and availability details will be announced soon.
Beta Codes: Players who digitally pre-order Modern Warfare 4 are automatically granted Early Access to the Open Beta and do not require a Beta Code. Players who pre-order a physical edition should expect to receive a Beta Code at the point of sale from participating retailers, granting entry into Open Beta Early Access.
Players who do not pre-order Modern Warfare 4 should still expect to access the open portion of the Beta.

Hunter Killer Operator Skin**
Pre-order or Pre-purchase: Digital Standard or Vault Edition
- Availability: Instantly in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone™, and at launch in Modern Warfare 4, upon pre-order or pre-purchase.
Pre-order or pre-purchase either of the Digital Editions of Modern Warfare 4, and immediately receive Hunter Killer, a clandestine field operative with a talent for ending engagements.
- Hunter Killer (and the Hunter Killer Skin) instantly becomes available in the Operators Menu of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 or Call of Duty: Warzone next time you access the game.
The Hunter Killer Operator Skin will also be available in Modern Warfare 4 at launch on October 23.

Hostile Alliance Operator Pack

Unlock the Hostile Alliance Operator Pack, enabling access to the following Operators at launch: Price, Valeria, Ghost, and Blix. Note that Price and Valeria have masked and unmasked variant skins.
Special Forces Operator Pack

- Availability: At game launch on October 23.
An additional Operator Pack is available for those with the Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition: Unlock the Special Forces Operator Pack, including four Operators, each with a skin representing their country of origin, each with a voice pack in their local language:

- KSK Amphibious (Germany)
- South Korean Special Forces (South Korea)

Signature Weapon Collection
Pre-order, Pre-purchase, or Purchase: Vault Edition
- Availability: At game launch on October 23.
Own the Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition to immediately unlock five different weapons that form the Signature Weapon Collection. The ranged weapons come with multiple Attachments including an Apex Attachment, all of which are accessible at game launch. Here are the available weapons and Blueprints:
- Kastov 762 Assault Rifle and “Voltspine” Blueprint
- ISO Nightshade Submachine Gun and “La Sombra Venenosa” (“The Poisonous Shadow”) Blueprint
- Rezi 12 Shotgun and “Shattered Code” Blueprint
- Oris 8.6 Marksman Rifle and “Volt-Edge” Blueprint
- Combat Knife (Melee) and “Sombra Besada” (“Shadow’s Kiss”) Blueprint
Kastov 762 and “Voltspine” Blueprint
A full-auto 7.62x39mm rifle offering heavy per-shot impact with equally firm recoil. Reliable and forceful but requires control to keep on target.
Kastov Arc (Apex Attachment): An experimental disruption barrel that emits a concentrated high-intensity RF pulse capable of incapacitating infantry, crippling electronics, and destabilizing vehicles caught in its crosshairs.
Iso Nightshade and “La Sombra Venenosa” Blueprint
A full-auto 9x19mm SMG with a fast rate of fire, the ISO Nightshade balances controllability, mobility, and close-quarters stopping power into a versatile platform suited for any operator.
ISO Trace (Apex Attachment): When hitting a target, Special RFID ammunition transmits a signal back to a built-in optic display on the gun, letting you to track down the victim and finish the job.
Rezi 12 and “Shattered Code” Blueprint
A fast-cycling semi-auto 12-gauge, the Rezi 12 delivers powerful, controlled shots with smooth recovery. Built tough and tuned for decisive close-range work.
Rezi Enforcer (Apex Attachment): Enables pump-action cycling and is outfitted with a side-saddle for hot-loaded explosive slugs. The added capability extends the platform’s engagement envelope well beyond traditional 12-gauge roles.
Oris 8.6 and “Volt-Edge” Blueprint
A lightweight bolt-action rifle chambered in 8.6 Blackout, the Oris 8.6 delivers impressive energy from a compact, modular frame. Sleek monolithic design and smooth cycling make it effective for precision fire in tight or mobile engagements.
Oris Razor (Apex Attachment): A compact blade module mounted to the receiver, housing up to three quick access throwing knives for close-range, low-signature engagements. Designed as a reliable fallback when stealth or conservation of fire matters most.
Combat Knife and “Sombra Besada” Blueprint
Own the Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition to unlock a single season of BlackCell access. Timing determines which season of BlackCell of you receive, with the first opportunity being in Season 1:
- Pre-order, pre-purchase, or purchase the Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition and play before or during Season 1 to unlock Season 1 BlackCell.
- Purchase the Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition and play after Season 1 to unlock the current BlackCell season.
BlackCell includes:
- 20 Battle Pass Tier Skips and 1,100 COD Points, instantly unlocked
- Instant access to exclusive content, including a new Operator and Weapon Blueprint.

Vault Edition: Call of Duty Loyalty Discount†
Via digital Pre-order and Pre-purchase on platform storefronts
If you’ve digitally or physically owned and played a premium Call of Duty title dating back to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), or have played one of these titles via Game Pass and have an active Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or PC subscription, expect to digitally preorder the Vault Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 with a 10% discount compared to the standard MSRP.
Here’s how this works:
Qualifying Call of Duty Titles
The discount is available if you own and have played a qualifying previous title, through digital or physical purchase, via an active Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or PC subscription that has previously played one of these titles, or by claiming the title via PlayStation® Plus Monthly Games. Any edition of the previous title qualifies. Here are the titles:
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019)
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered (2020)
- Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
- Call of Duty: Vanguard
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022)
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (2023)
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
Qualifying Platform Eligibility
The discount is only available at checkout if you pre-order or pre-purchase Modern Warfare 4 on the same gaming platform and with the same platform account used for the previous qualifying title.
Loyalty Discount: Additional Information
Ensure you claim your Loyalty Discount in time, and note the following intel:
- Expect a 10% discount to the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 4.
- This discount applies to the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 4 only.
- The discount should appear within the in-game store or platform digital storefront, prior to checkout.
- This discount only applies to pre-orders and pre-purchases; this offer is valid until October 23, 2026. This offer is subject to change.
- This discount is not available to Vault upgrades; meaning you cannot pre-order or pre-purchase the Standard Digital Edition and then upgrade to the Vault Edition afterwards and obtain the discount.

Modern Warfare 4: Digital Standard Editions
In addition to the Vault Edition, you can pre-order (on console) or pre-purchase (on PC) a Digital Standard Edition of Modern Warfare 4 on the platforms listed at the start of this Blog. The Digital Standard Edition consists of the full game and the following benefits:

- Hunter Killer Operator Skin (Pre-order or Pre-purchase Instant benefit in Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone)
Vault Edition Upgrade
From Digital Edition to Vault Edition
If you pre-order the Digital Standard Edition of Modern Warfare 4, you can upgrade to the Vault Edition at a later date, provided the upgrade is made on the same platform as your original purchase.
For example, a Digital Standard Edition pre-purchase or purchase on Battle.net can be upgraded to the Vault Edition on Battle.net at a later date of your choosing, unlocking the many Vault Edition benefits detailed above.
Note: Upgrade steps may vary by platform. Refer to your platform’s storefront for details.
How Do I Upgrade to the Vault Edition?
XBOX Play Anywhere (Console and PC): Upgrade through the in-game store or XBOX Store (console, PC, or XBOX PC app) where the Digital Standard Edition was pre-ordered. The upgrade applies across console and PC.
PlayStation: Upgrade via the in-game store or PlayStation Store where the Digital Standard Edition was pre-ordered.
XBOX on PC: Upgrade via the in-game store, XBOX Store, or XBOX PC app where the Digital Standard Edition was pre-purchased. (See XBOX Play Anywhere details above.)
Battle.net: Upgrade via the in-game store or Battle.net where the Digital Standard Edition was pre-purchased.
Steam: Upgrade via the in-game store or Steam where the Digital Standard Edition was pre-purchased.
Additional Notes:
Price: The cost to upgrade from a Digital Standard Edition to the Vault Edition is $30 U.S. SRP (or regional equivalent).
Ineligibility Notes: Physical Edition pre-orders are not eligible for upgrades. The Vault Edition is only available digitally. The Vault Edition Loyalty Discount (see above) is not available if you decide to upgrade.
Modern Warfare 4: Physical Standard Editions
If you prefer to own a physical version of Modern Warfare 4, you can pre-order now at participating retailers globally. These are available in the following formats:
- Physical Standard Edition on XBOX Series X (on disc)
- Physical Standard Edition on PlayStation® 5 (on disc)
The Standard Edition on Nintendo® Switch 2 will be available for pre-order via physical retailers later this year.
Physical versions of Modern Warfare 4 are not available for PC.
The Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 4 is not available as a physical version.
