WELCOME TO SEASON 05
Tear through the competition with new maps, modes, weapons, and more in Season 05. Fight through a rural Japanese town packed with close-quarters combat in Multiplayer, survive the undead chaos in a new Zombies Survival map, and race against time in the Endgame Burn Run Assignment.
Season 05 delivers a huge season of content. Multiplayer brings a hard-hitting lineup led by the brand-new Jubilee map, set in a rural town in Japan where the action never stops. In Zombies, rip through the undead in a new Survival map at launch and prepare to confront the Warden in the epic Mid-Season conclusion to the Black Ops 7 Zombies story. In Endgame, race against the clock in the new Burn Run Assignment and further enhance your Operator with Ability Boosts.
New and Returning Maps
Jubilee (6v6)
- Fight through a rural Japanese town as a festival turns to chaos and the streets erupt in conflict. Battle in the front courtyard of the Palace museum, explore local cuisine in the pop-up Festival, and test your luck in the pachinko room.
Frequency (6v6)
- First introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Frequency returns fully remastered with greater detail than ever before. Deploy deep into the mountains of Hunan where Operators engage in constant battle over control of the listening station’s global surveillance capabilities.
Dig (6v6)
- Following its debut in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Dig returns in remastered form, sending Operators to an archaeological dig site in Avalon where rival forces clash over what lies beneath. With the enhanced movement of Black Ops 7, now’s your chance to experience the map like never before.
New and Returning Multiplayer Modes
Overdrive Domination (Launch)
- Domination comes to Overdrive, bringing an objective-based twist to the high-octane game mode. Capture, hold, and defend objectives while eliminating targets with style to earn stars for your team.
Gauntlet Rush (In-Season)
- Each game mode lasts for two minutes before seamlessly switching to the next one within the same map to keep the action hot. Eliminate enemies and play the objective to rev up toward Operator enhancements including faster movement speed, weapon swap speed, and improved headshot damage.
New Weapons
FG42 (Assault Rifle, Battle Pass)
- Full-auto assault rifle. Excellent damage and respectable rate of fire. Balanced by slower handling and short open-bolt delay.
- Designed with a side-mounted magazine and front and rear sights for a clear sight picture, the FG42 Assault Rifle presents a reliable armament capable of performing well across a variety of combat scenarios.
Gremlin (SMG, Battle Pass)
- Full-auto dual submachine guns. Excellent mobility and firepower, limited at range by inability to ADS.
- Go to town with a weapon in each hand using the dual-wield Gremlin SMG. The weapon’s excellent mobility and handling give you the tools to outmaneuver enemies and get up close to inflict maximum punishment.
Mammoth (LMG, Event Reward | In-Season)
- Full-auto light machine gun. Twin reciprocating barrels provide massive damage with manageable recoil. Slow rate of fire, mobility, and handling.
- The Mammoth LMG hits hard and stays on target even through sustained fire. The weapon’s low recoil and slow fire rate assists Operators in providing covering fire for their teammates, featuring a Prestige Attachment that rapidly speeds up the weapon’s reaction speed.
New Attachments
Jäger 45 Grid-Breaker Kit (Jäger 45, Weekly Challenge Reward | Launch)
- Converts the Jäger 45 into a recharging EMP device with improved movement speeds. Fires a localized blast that deals minor damage and disrupts enemy electronics.
M34 Novaline Garand Conversion (M34 Novaline, Weekly Challenge Reward | In-Season)
- Converts weapon into a top-loaded semi-auto rifle with devastating firepower and accuracy complemented by a solid fire rate.
EAM IR-VIZ Thermal Reflex (Most Primary Weapons, Weekly Challenge Reward | In-Season)
- A lightweight thermal sight from EAM for improved visibility.
M15 Mod 0 AMR .50 Cal Kit (M15 Mod 0, Weekly Challenge Reward | In-Season)
- Converts the M15 MOD 0 to fire .50 caliber rounds for improved lethality at an impressive distance. Sacrifices fire rate and recoil control for raw power.
Multiplayer Ranked Play
The ultimate competitive experience continues in Season 05 with the addition of Frequency and more maps to the Ranked Play map pool, all-new Season Rewards to earn, and Skill Rating tuning adjustments based on player feedback and data from the previous season. Hit Iridescent for the first time last season? Prove you belong and do it again in Season 05.

SR Tuning Adjustments
- To help counter the SR inflation observed in higher Skill Divisions during Season 04, we've increased the base SR loss for the following Ranks:
- Platinum: Base SR loss increased to -25 SR
- Diamond: Base SR loss increased to -30 SR
- Crimson: Base SR loss increased to -40 SR
- We've also updated how Opponent Rank Adjustments are awarded. Players will now only receive positive or negative Opponent Rank Adjustments when the opposing player is 3 or more Rank Tiers above or below their current Rank.
- For example, a Platinum III player who outperforms a Diamond III player will receive a positive Opponent Rank Adjustment, since there is a 3+ Tier difference. However, outperforming a Diamond I player will no longer award a bonus, as the difference is only 1 Tier.
- Previously, any opponent above or below your Rank could trigger these adjustments. This change makes Opponent Rank Adjustments more consistent by reserving bonuses and penalties for matches against players who are significantly higher or lower in Rank.

New Zombies Survival Map: Eidskallen Lighthouse
Return to frigid Eidskallen and survive for as long as you can on Beacon Island and its Lighthouse in a new Survival Map placing the crew on a confined section of the Totenreich Round-Based map.
Earn the following rewards for reaching certain round milestone in the match:
- “Valhallan” Animated Emblem and 1,000 XP (complete Round 10)
- “Eidskallen’s Light” Weapon Charm and 2,500 XP (complete Round 25)
- “Gift Card” GobbleGum and 5,000 XP (complete Round 50)
Directed Mode: Kowakujō
Get extra guidance for the Main Quest on Kowakujō with the introduction of Directed Mode for the map, providing on-screen quest steps and a max round cap of 15.
- Drop into the scorching fires of a volcanic landscape where supernatural forces guard a crumbling castle harboring the World Seed and other smoldering mysteries. Go toe to toe with the Oni, wielding heavy armor, a massive spiked kanobō, and the power of electricity, joined by Scorched Zombies, Hellhounds, and more.
- Players who complete Kowakujō on Directed Mode will earn the “Yōjinbō” Operator Skin for Carver, “Kowakujō Directed Mode Completion” Calling Card, and 5,000 XP.

Make your stand in the Outer Ward and fight to the finish. All pathways outside of the initial area are locked, so make the most out of what you’ve got as you battle the castle’s ravenous hordes. Use the following map items to further increase the temperature in this already scorching environment:

Mid-Season Zombies Map: Rex Infernus
The Warden’s corruption runs deep in the final chapter of the Black Ops 7 Zombies narrative as an all-new Round-Based Zombies map launches in the Mid-Season. Cleanse the Shadowsmiths’ places of power and arm yourself with a new Wonder Weapon, GobbleGum, Perk-a-Cola, and two more Ultra-Rarity legacy weapons to survive the ultimate confrontation.
New Endgame Assignment: Burn Run
Get pumped in Avalon with the new Burn Run Assignment, challenging Operators to a race against the clock in a bomb-rigged vehicle that’s ready to explode. As the music rages on, step on the gas and pass through all thirty arches, each one embroiled in flames so you know exactly where to go.
The pathway is littered with Fear enemies and objects; run them over to add additional seconds to the clock and seek out bonuses like repair wrenches and speed boosts to keep your vehicle in working order as you blast through the racecourse. Keep your eyes on the road, hit everything in your path, and get to the destination.
Exotic Ability Boosts
Upgrade your Major and Minor Abilities with new, rare enhancements that can be acquired in the match, further empowering them with advantages including reduced cooldown times, extra ammo, the chance to inflict additional damage types, and other bonuses improving their effectiveness in the field.
Found in item cases, Ability Boosts are mixed in with other reward types and are chosen based on your currently equipped Major and Minor Ability. Though Ability Boosts have a small chance to drop in Zone IV regions, they are primarily found in Nightmare locations. Open your Tac Map and check the rewards list of various Nightmare level Activities and Assignments to discover where you have the best chance of discovering them.
- Each Major and Minor Ability has two Exotic Ability boosts to choose from. Once acquired, the Ability Boost will remain until you either wipe or swap out the affected Ability.
Endgame’s free-to-play period is planned to continue through to the conclusion of Season 05, so be sure to jump in with your squad to explore all that Avalon has to offer in this expansive PvE mode. Once Season 06 of Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone begins, Endgame will no longer be accessible via the Call of Duty: Warzone menu and will be available only to Black Ops 7 owners.
New Weekly Challenges
Complete challenges every week of the season to unlock new Loadout items, Camo rewards, and XP. Check the Weekly Challenge menu at the start of Season 05 to see the available rewards and the challenges required to unlock them. Complete any six challenges across any or all of the four supported modes to unlock the weekly reward, including new Attachments, the Mace Melee weapon coming later this Season, “Thorny Connection” VST SMG Weapon Blueprint, and more.

This week’s weapon update addresses a handful of bugs and several hot ticket balance items. Among the tuning changes are adjustments to the AN-94 and Swordfish A1, as well as a partial rework to the recently released DS20 Mirage Dual Fire Kit. As always, thanks for the ongoing feedback.

The AN-94 vastly outclassed the TTK of other Assault Rifles with its hyperburst and skyrocketed in usage over the last few weeks. We have changed the damage profile to no longer have a 4-shot kill to the body in the Max Damage Range, which will allow other full-auto weapons to compete against the hyperburst in a head-on engagement.

DS20 Mirage
We have made some changes to the DS20 Mirage and its Dual Fire Kit to increase the power level and address some of the specific pieces of feedback we have seen since it launched. The biggest change is that the two fire modes will now share ammunition, which removes the need to manage two separate reloads. The new implementation also allows other attachments to improve relevant stats on the alternate fire mode, such as range and velocity. The Dual Fire Kit now also improves mobility and handling to give it a more defined role as an aggressive build for the DS20 Mirage. Finally, the DS20 Mirage’s full-auto mode will have improved headshot TTK potential up close both with and without the Dual Fire Kit.

We are adding a delay of one second before the Fabricator Mag will start generating ammo after firing. This will reduce the effectiveness of the magazine in extreme aggressive play, as well as tax the ammo count more when engaging multiple targets in quick succession.

We’ve continued to see feedback that the Swordfish is too strong. While it doesn’t have the highest usage, it is making a high impact in the hands of the players who are running it. The vast majority of builds are using the Penta Burst Mod, so we are mostly focusing on the recoil and Burst Fire Delay of that attachment. The base weapon is just receiving a minor Burst Fire Delay adjustment, as we feel it generally has appropriate strengths and weaknesses.
Swordfish A1 Adjustments
- Burst Fire Delay increased from 280ms to 300ms.
