Prebrief

Breach a covert listening station deep in the mountains of Hunan as Operators fight for control of global surveillance in the remastered Frequency. First introduced in Call of Duty®: Black Ops 4, the iconic map challenges players to keep their footing on the high-rise facility while engaging enemies along the perimeter and throughout the main buildings facing the map’s center.

The middle consists of two distinct levels of engagement. The top level features an open, central area with two ladders leading to the lower Maintenance pathway. To the east and west of those ladders are the Surveillance and Servers POIs, each offering a second-floor window over the action. On the outside, battle down long sightlines interspersed with key flanking routes. Watch your step in the heat of the moment or risk a steep fall to bottom.

Frequency Intel

1. Wall Jump > Ladders: The yellow ladders in the center are exposed to attack from multiple angles, so speed is of the essence when transitioning from the lower Maintenance level to the upper Engine POI. Instead of making the slow climb up, use your Wall Jump to quickly hop up the sides, ready to fight.

2. Critical pivot: When taking up position in either of the second story windows overlooking the center, don’t neglect the quick pivot to the platform looking over the southern Catwalk. Not only do you benefit from a great vantage point, but you also cut down the chances of getting ambushed from behind by regularly checking on the highly frequented thoroughfare.

3. Eyes on the enemy: While a boon on most maps, the Vigilance Perk is particularly useful here, giving nearly full minimap coverage on all positions surrounding the map’s center as well as a longer view down the sides. On a condensed map like Frequency, the extra map exposure is crucial in both setting up and preventing flank attacks.
