Neural scientist Victoria Atwood is at it again, and this time she’s taking you along for the ride. Experience a Guild procedure inside the patient’s mind, where their shifting state rewrites the center of the map, at the midpoint of which stands a towering pillar known as The Red. The subject’s state of mind determines the condition of the pillar and its surroundings, from a verdant fixture to a crater where the pillar stands damaged at the site of impact.
Hallways on either side of the main room guide the fight into narrow spaces with Elevators to the west and an Office to the east. Plan your route, whether blasting into the middle or flanking down the sides. And whatever you do, stay focused and keep your mind clear in this strange place.
1. Hug the red: Whether the patient is relaxed or experiencing a rising state of tension, the red pillar at the center of things remains a powerful cover point. Check your minimap and use comms to pinpoint the enemy’s location, then find cover and ambush them as they approach the main room.
2. Hall pass: Whether fighting by the Office or the Elevators, the side paths are perfect for flanking and for catching enemies moving outside of the map’s center. By the Office, toss grenades over the cubicles to hit targets on the other side; by the Elevators, be mindful of the adjacent waiting rooms.
3. Armor up: Liminal’s narrow hallways and main room beg for the use of grenades. If you’re on the receiving end of constant pitches, consider adding the Flak Jacket or Tech Mask Perks to your Loadout, bolstering your defenses. If all else fails, pull out a Trophy System when you need it the most.
