First introduced in Call of Duty®: Black Ops II, Grind brings players back to the action as they fight in and around the iconic skatepark. Hit up the iconic location and soak in the rays while hopping over grind rails, scaling ramps, and flanking enemy targets through the Full Pipe and Store.
1. Test the limits: As with skating, success here relies on creative use of the available obstacles. Check the ramps to see which ones can be climbed on for a vantage point, like the corner ramp in Quarter Pipe and the ledge halfway down the Full Pipe. Test the map’s limits and squeeze out every bit of advantage you can get.
2. Skater’s instinct: The Vigilance Perk an be a huge boon here by giving you more intel to work off of. With such large cover pieces throughout the park, you might tag someone you wouldn’t have otherwise seen coming.
3. Lighten up: Grind’s open ground results in plentiful head-to-head fights between objects. Try adding a mobility upgrade Stock attachment to your Primary Weapon that improves your Operator’s aim walking movement speed. If your weapon supports it, you’ll move more swiftly while ADS, making it harder for enemies to land shots.
The Full Pipe offers several important advantages. Not only does it provide much needed overhead protection in an area otherwise vulnerable to aerial attacks, it’s also a great pivot point between the Cradle and Half Pipe. The ledge bisecting the two portions is also climbable for a heightened view over the Cradle and toward Quarter Pipe.
The corner ledge in Quarter Pipe marks the ideal defensive point with clear views along the map’s bottom path including the doorway leading in and out of the Indoor area. The opposite view offers less cover while giving a strong view of the large eastern skating area.
The Half Pipe’s top ledge affords the highest vantage point on the map, making it a popular spot for sharpshooters. Climb up from the inner ramp or climb the curved walkway below. While you can’t get to the top portion of the Half Pipe’s other end, there’s still a middle ledge offering a good counter position.
