Seize a cliffside fishing village in Avalon as The Guild moves contraband through hidden coves. Check your corners and watch high and low for enemy targets as you traverse the map’s narrow alleyways and hair-raising chokepoints. Vantage points in the Church and Market overlook the action below, with explosive close-range fights breaking out around the Ruins and Fountain.
Black Ops 2 veterans will recognize the layout as the 6v6 map “Yemen,” now reimagined within Avalon, bringing the intense street fighting action that made the original so satisfying, now playable with the updated mechanics and weaponry of Black Ops 7.
1. Upgrade your map: Cliff Town offers dense urban combat within a sizable space where danger lurks at every turn. Equip the Vigilance Perk to improve your situational awareness when moving through the map’s winding routes, offering an enhanced minimap that provides a wider look at your surroundings to help track down enemies who appear on your radar.
2. Mark the interiors: The map’s tightly packed buildings add a dangerous element of surprise to every pathway. Through continued deployments — or some time spent solo in a Private Match — you’ll start to learn which buildings are accessible and where their specific openings are located for a clearer idea of where the true danger lies and where you’re safe to focus elsewhere.
3. Inside and out: Sweep through the map’s buildings for close-quarters combat and along the Street and Alley to engage enemies from a greater distance. Though you may prefer one playstyle over the other, a balanced approach will give a greater understanding of the different map strategies so that when it’s time to zero in on a particular approach, you’re already aware of how the enemy may try to counter your attack.
Wall Jump or climb the ladder up to the archway perch overlooking the Street for an incredible view. Watch that opening straight ahead in the Church and check the Fishing building to the right; drop down to the lattice roof and along the ledge into the upper window to change up your view. Used at the right time, this is arguably Cliff Town’s greatest vantage point.
The Tailor sits right where the Street and Alley split at the Church, a steep drop in the middle, before they connect again at the back of the yellow building. The demolished wall and window provide excellent covered views over the Street and Alley toward the Church, and, at the back, clear cover over routes incoming from the Market and Stalls.
Right beside the Tailor, the Market balcony gives an elevated view over the Street as it turns behind the yellow building. Move inside for arm’s length combat with rear access to the Stalls and a side path down the stairs perfect for ambushing passing enemies.
