Guild forces attack David Mason’s childhood home in Alaska, unaware he’s turned his Homestead into a deadly trap. The terrain rises toward the middle, from the outer lake to the Ice path circling the Cabin and the surrounding outbuildings.
Battle for possession of the two-story Cabin or skirt the edges to seek out targets along the perimeter. Watch your corners around boulders and jump into the Water for a swim, both on the edges of the map and underneath the ice. It’s cold in there, so keep moving and then get back on land for the flank before you freeze over.
1. Too cold for comfort: The Water is perfect for getting out of sight and setting up a flank; but stick around too long and the cold will creep in as shown by the frosted edges on your HUD. Soon after, your Operator will start to take damage. Jump in, get to your destination, and get out fast.
2. Cabin fever: As the focal point of the map, Cabin is bound to see plenty of action. Give incoming foes a headache by pairing up the Bruiser and Hunter’s Instinct Perks, awarding health and extra score on Melee eliminations with the added bonus of marking the direction of the next closest enemy. Get in position and start swinging.
3. Hug the rocks: Minimize your profile by sticking close to the rocks when moving along the map’s perimeter. In addition to obscuring your position, there are several points with low shelves sticking out, perfect for mounting your weapon while awaiting enemies around the next turn.
Speed is of the essence when swimming in these waters. Look for the underwater flares when navigating below the terrain, guiding your Operator to the next opening in the ice.
Note the Ascenders leading up from the Water into Butcher in the north and the upper Boathouse in the south. These lines offer a quick lift out of the freezing lake and up to an elevated position and, perhaps more importantly, warmth.
The two large boulders midway through the western Ice path mark an ideal ambush point. The wedge between them gives enough space to stay out of sight of the main path until the time is right to jump out and land the elimination.
