What is Call of Duty ELITE?

Why did you build the Call of Duty ELITE service?
With over 30 million online players around the world, the Call of Duty community is too large and diverse to create a one-size-fits-all approach, and Call of Duty ELITE must be purely additive to the experience. The Call of Duty "out of the box" experience that our players expect — a great single player campaign, co-op missions, and the deepest and most accessible multiplayer anywhere remains the same as ever. If you want to continue to play Call of Duty as you always have, you will still be able to do just that, including the ability to buy Map Packs a la carte. With Call of Duty ELITE, we're adding a new choice for those who want to get even more out of the game.
Is Call of Duty ELITE only for hardcore players?
Connect, Compete and Improve are universal needs regardless of skill, and Call of Duty ELITE has been tailored for Call of Duty's diverse base of players. If you are a hardcore "Prestige" player or a casual weekend warrior, you can enjoy personalized communities, community-generated video content, and a dynamic strategy guide that tracks your statistics and performance trends. Call of Duty ELITE also offers competitions, events and high-production value, original entertainment programming designed exclusively for Call of Duty ELITE premium members. Different players will use Call of Duty ELITE in different ways, but we want there to be something for everyone.
How is Call of Duty ELITE different with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3?
The Beachhead Studio team has been working closely with Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games to build Call of Duty ELITE from the ground up to support Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The Service includes a number of all-new features and innovations built directly by Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games into the new game. For example, your Call of Duty ELITE community Group and Clan affiliations and identity will be incorporated directly into Modern Warfare 3.
Who is Beachhead Studio?
Beachhead Studio is a new development studio, who is creating the Call of Duty ELITE service for the Call of Duty franchise. We are entirely focused on making Call of Duty ELITE the best gaming service in the world, and improving it every day.

If I get the premium annual membership to Call of Duty ELITE, do I really get all of the Modern Warfare 3 Content?
Yes. The annual subscription to Call of Duty ELITE is an all-inclusive membership, and that means you get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 downloadable (in-game) content, including all of the MW3 map packs and more as part of your premium membership. No need to buy additional in-game Content.
How does the monthly Content program for Call of Duty ELITE Premium members work?
Starting early 2012, we will be releasing new pieces of multiplayer content for Call of Duty ELITE Premium members on a monthly basis. You will be notified in-game that new content is available. You simply have to download it and it’s ready to play.
What kind of content is the Content for Call of Duty ELITE Premium members?
The Call of Duty: MW3 Content will include a variety of high quality in-game content. You’ll receive an amazing array of multiplayer maps and more, released to you monthly during the 9 month Content season, in total adding up to minimum of 20 pieces of content (an approximately $60 value, based on the purchase of at least 4 Call of Duty MW3 map packs at $14.99 within a given year; map pack pricing subject to change). Remember, the Call of Duty MW3 game is sold separately and is required to use the Content.
Will the Content also include avatars and themes?
The Content provided to Call of Duty ELITE Premium members will consist of in-game content. If avatars or themes are made available to Call of Duty ELITE premium members, they will not count towards the 20 pieces of content.
Do I get to "keep" my Call of Duty MW3 Content if I let the Call of Duty ELITE annual membership expire at the end of the year?
Yes. Premium members will be able to keep their MW3 content if they choose not to continue their Call of Duty ELITE membership at the end of the year.
What if I join later in the year, what Content do I get?
We want all premium members to have access to Call of Duty ELITE Content. Whenever you sign up for a Call of Duty ELITE premium membership, you will have immediate access to all the MW3 Content that has been released to date for your platform. As new content is released, it will be made available to you every month for 9 months, during the applicable Content season.
Do X360 and PS3 Call of Duty ELITE Premium members receive their Content at the same time?
Similar to traditional Map Packs, X360 Premium members will receive their Content before PS3 Premium members. All Call of Duty ELITE Premium members will receive a steady stream of content released monthly for 9 months through the Content season, and they will also receive their Content before non-premium members on their console.
Is Call of Duty ELITE a new website? Can I access it anywhere else?
We're on the web of course, but we're designing Call of Duty ELITE to be widely accessible and customized for a number of platforms — via web browsers, through the game, and through mobile applications as well — including iOS, as well as Android smartphones.
So, if I just want to buy Map Packs standalone, I can still do that?
Yes. Call of Duty ELITE has been built around the tenets of value and choice. To us that choice means that players who purchase Modern Warfare 3, who want to extend the game may prefer the option of a map pack. We will continue to offer that option. So if you want to just buy a map pack only, no problem.
How will Call of Duty ELITE compare to free offerings that currently exist?
We believe that the free elements of Call of Duty ELITE alone will be better than any free service currently on the market today. Call of Duty ELITE ups the ante of any free service by offering a range of innovations on well-established multiplayer features, such as leaderboards, heat maps, and rich player data. Additionally, other Call of Duty ELITE features are completely new to the industry. For example, with Call of Duty ELITE's new Groups featured integrated with Modern Warfare 3, you will be able to join custom groups based on your likes, interests, or affiliations, and then have those groups follow you directly into the game. Soon you'll be playing in a social group, making new friends (and rivals!) who play Call of Duty and share your interests, home town, or play style.

Where will Call of Duty ELITE be available?
Call of Duty ELITE is available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In addition, there are custom Call of Duty ELITE applications available on iOS and Android.
How much does Call of Duty ELITE cost?
We are offering annual Call of Duty ELITE memberships at $49.99 in the U.S. This offers an incredible value since it includes approximately $60 of MW3 Content (based on the purchase of at least 4 Call of Duty map packs at $14.99 within a given year; map pack pricing subject to change), at no additional cost.
What languages will Call of Duty ELITE support?
Call of Duty ELITE is available in English, French, and German at launch. We’ll keep you updated as we add more languages.
Is Call of Duty ELITE coming to PC?
We’ve been working closely with Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games to customize a Call of Duty ELITE membership offering for the PC. Since the PC is an open platform, it’s difficult to provide the secure data and statistics necessary for the premium tier of Call of Duty ELITE. Because of this, there is not currently a Call of Duty ELITE offering on the PC, but we will continue to update the community with more information in 2012. As we stated previously, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will support dedicated servers for our PC community, and we will also continue to provide PC gamers the option to purchase downloadable content on the PC as we always have. We are working hard to provide our PC fans the best Call of Duty experience they have had to date.

What do you get with the Founder program?
Founders receive lifetime status within the Call of Duty ELITE service and Call of Duty® games, starting with Modern Warfare 3. Benefits include unique in-game camo, player card & emblem. Founders are also eligible for Clan XP boosts to help level up their Clans faster!
How do I become a Founder? Are there a limited number of Founder memberships?
Anyone who ordered Call of Duty ELITE through the MW3 Hardened Edition, or purchased an annual Call of Duty ELITE membership by December 13, 2011 is automatically enrolled as a Founder.
Will there be Customer Service?
Absolutely. It's a priority for us that Call of Duty ELITE membership comes with 24/7 worldwide customer service. We have a team dedicated to programming, administration, and service.
Can I use one account for multiple platforms?
You can link one account per platform to your Call of Duty ELITE account. However, similar to DLC today, your Call of Duty ELITE Premium membership is platform-specific. If you play on multiple platforms and want all the premium features and content you will need to purchase Call of Duty ELITE for each.
What is the minimum age to join Call of Duty ELITE?
You need to be 13 or older to sign up for Call of Duty ELITE's free services or our Premium Membership.
In which countries is Call of Duty ELITE available?
Subject to console restrictions, Call of Duty ELITE will be made available in the English, French and German languages in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Demark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, the Republic of Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and the United States.
What countries are eligible to win prizes from Call of Duty ELITE?
All countries in which Call of Duty ELITE is made available will be eligible to win digital prizes. Due to local regulations, physical prizes will only be made available for the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada (excluding Quebec), Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Republic of Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, United States (excluding AZ, CT, MD, ND, VT and VA), United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland).
What are some of the eligibility requirements to win prizes?
All prizes are subject to eligibility requirements, including limits on the number of prizes an entrant may win during a certain period of time. If you have won a prize with an approximate retail value of $1,000.00 or greater (a "Tier 1 Prize") you will not be eligible to win any subsequent Tier 1 Prizes during the 12-month period after the contest in which you won the first Tier 1 Prize ended (the "Tier 1 Prize Restriction Period"). If you have won a prize with an approximate retail value between $100.00 - $999.99 (a "Tier 2 Prize"), you will not be eligible to win any subsequent Tier 2 Prizes during the 90-day period after the contest in which you won the first Tier 2 Prize ended (the "Tier 2 Prize Restriction Period"). Notwithstanding the foregoing, (a) during the Tier 1 Prize Restriction Period you will still be eligible to win a Tier 2 Prize so long as you have not otherwise won a Tier 2 Prize during the Tier 2 Prize Restriction Period, and (b) during the Tier 2 Prize Restriction Period you will still be eligible to win a Tier 1 Prize so long as you have not otherwise won a Tier 1 Prize during the Tier 1 Prize Restriction Period. There are no such restrictions relating to prizes with an approximate retail value between $0.01 - $99.99. Note that these requirements are subject to change - see eligibility requirements in the Official Rules applicable to each contest, as well as on the contest enlistment page, for the most updated information. Winners are subject to verification before receiving prizes.
I'm a current MW3 Elite member. Will Elite work with Black Ops 2?
Absolutely. If you buy Black Ops 2, you'll be able to enable a range of new Elite features when it launches this November. Stay tuned for updates later this summer.

Are you letting people buy prestige weapons or levels through Call of Duty ELITE?
No, players are not able to buy prestige weapons or levels through Call of Duty ELITE. While Call of Duty ELITE wants to help people become better players, the main way to level up to new weapons, XP and prestige, is to earn it in game.
Will you be charging for multiplayer?
No, we are offering players more choice and are not taking anything away from our fans. If you like playing the way you always have, with a great campaign, co-op and multiplayer experience out of the box, then you can. Additionally, many of Call of Duty ELITE's features that we've listed are free to all Call of Duty Elite members.
What about stats? Do I get free access to my stats with Call of Duty ELITE?
Absolutely. The Career section gives players an in-depth look at statistical details of their own performance and gameplay as well as that of the entire Call of Duty community, including heat maps, load-outs, stat trends, custom leaderboards, and lets you see your Facebook friends online. The Career section is free to all registered users.
Will Call of Duty ELITE support Call of Duty: Black Ops?
Yes. You can still access many parts of Call of Duty ELITE to use with Black Ops. Because Call of Duty ELITE was designed to be deeply integrated into Modern Warfare 3 the full set of features are only available for MW3.
The Program Guide sounds cool, but I'm an average player. How can I have a chance to participate in competition?
Just like a sport, we believe competing in Call of Duty should be fun and accessible regardless of skill. Highly skilled players may want to join the most competitive Tournaments, while a more moderate player can find Operations, Events and competitions that are tailored based on their skill level or particular play style. We want all Call of Duty ELITE premium members to find a range of competition that fits them, and gives them a chance to succeed.
