MOVEMENT

The Modern Warfare 4 movement system is built around responsiveness, player control, and preserving momentum through every engagement. Actions like sprinting, sliding, mantling, climbing, and transitioning to prone can be chained together, helping Operators move seamlessly through horizontal and vertical spaces without sacrificing precision or control.

New traversal techniques give Operators more ways to reposition and adapt under pressure, including Mantle Slide, Mantle Momentum, Mantle Steering, Supline Slide, Pipe Climb, Hand Shimmy, and Climbing Jump. Whether pushing through an objective, taking a new angle, or moving through contested spaces, every mechanic is designed to keep combat fluid, grounded, and in the player’s hands. 

GUNPLAY

For Modern Warfare 4, the new weapon-first technology stack unifies precision aiming, physical weapon handling, realistic audio propagation, enhanced visibility, and combat perception into the most authentic Modern Warfare gunplay yet. Bullet trajectory, weapon motion, operator stance, camera, audio, field of view, and target visibility all line up in one highly tuned combat fidelity system.

MAPS AND MODES

Deploy across 12 all-new Core 6v6 maps at launch, each set in a distinct location with its own visual identity, engagement ranges, and tactical opportunities. Battle through globally diverse environments shaped by the conflict of Modern Warfare 4, from dense urban spaces and snow-covered rooftops to coastal villages and overgrown industrial sites.

Beyond the Core 6v6 offering, Multiplayer also features dedicated Gunfight maps, multiple Ground War: Combat Outpost maps built for vehicle and infantry combat, and Kill Block, a dynamic battleground built to keep players adapting as the fight changes around them.

Alongside returning favorites, Multiplayer introduces new modes that give every match its own set of challenges. In Inflation, every elimination builds your fortune while making you an increasingly valuable target, turning each engagement into a decision about how aggressively to pursue the next kill. With objective-based team battles, high-stakes one-life competition, and more, Modern Warfare 4 Multiplayer offers multiple ways to fight.

KILL BLOCK

Kill Block is a dynamic Multiplayer battleground that reconfigures between matches, reshaping routes, sightlines, and cover before each deployment. Built from three modular Slabs, the facility can create more than 500 unique configurations at launch, changing the flow of combat and forcing players to read the environment and adapt on the fly.

Kill Block also brings expanded Gunfight experiences, including 3v3 and the all-new Gunfight 10v10. Shared loadouts and single-life rounds put the focus on teamwork, weapon proficiency, and tactical decision-making, while the battleground reconfigures throughout the match to create new challenges every round.

GROUND WAR: COMBAT OUTPOST

Prepare for the next evolution of Ground War. In Combat Outpost, establish Outposts to earn resources, then put those resources to work completing further objectives across large play spaces built for vehicle and infantry combat.

Coordinate pushes across the line of battle while powerful airborne Killstreaks fill the skies overhead. Whether securing ground, advancing on an objective, or supporting your team from a vehicle, every battle becomes a test of timing, positioning, and combined-arms coordination.

CUSTOMIZATION AND PLAYER PROGRESSION

The Create-a-Class system in Modern Warfare 4 brings your Operator, Killstreaks, weapons, Equipment, Perks, and Field Upgrades together within each loadout, giving every class a distinct identity and combat role. G.U.N.N.Y. offers Short Range, Long Range, and Balanced loadouts as starting points, while full customization lets you build around your preferred approach to the fight.

Apex Attachments introduce new ways to shape how weapons perform in combat, while two distinct Prestige paths give you more choice in how you progress. Classic Prestige delivers the traditional reset-and-rebuild experience. Regular Prestige lets you restart progression while retaining your unlocked content.
