ACTION EXTRACTION SHOOTER

DMZ is an action extraction shooter where every operation asks you to balance ambition against survival. Infil Hajin solo or with a squad, pursue objectives, engage hostile forces and rival Operators, and secure valuable gear and resources as the situation shifts around you. Once you have what you came for, decide whether to make for an extraction point with your gear and resources intact or risk going farther into Hajin in pursuit of greater rewards.

Successful extraction carries what you recover into future deployments, helping you prepare for what comes next. Stay too long, push too far, or fail to get out, and the gear and resources you fought to secure may be lost. Every run is a risk, every encounter is a choice, and the deeper you go, the harder it becomes to get out.

THE LIVING WORLD OF HAJIN

Every operation in DMZ offers multiple ways to play. Pursue Story Missions, take on Dynamic Operations, complete Side Ops, hunt high-value targets, or explore Hajin and forge your own path. Play solo or with a squad, choosing which opportunities are worth pursuing.

INTO THE EXCLUSION ZONE

Scarred by radiation, mass evacuation, and the collapse of civilian infrastructure, the region is one of the largest and most ambitious Call of Duty environments ever built, designed around exploration, environmental storytelling, and high-risk operations.

From the irradiated Fallout reactor and the highly secured Prison complex to the remains of Hajin City and the heavily defended Military Base, every region inside the border area and exclusion zone offers different combat opportunities, sealed or secret areas waiting to be discovered, traversal challenges, and points of interest with unexpected entrances accessible only via water.

Players willing to push deeper into the unknown can uncover hidden mysteries, pursue high-value gear, and engage in increasingly dangerous missions with greater risks and rewards.

CHOOSE YOUR OPERATION

Every deployment in DMZ begins with a choice. Pursue narrative-driven Story Missions that expand the Modern Warfare 4 story, take on multi-step Dynamic Operations, complete Side Ops, hunt high-value targets, or forge your own path through Hajin.

Play solo or with a squad, and choose whether to push deeper for greater rewards or extract before the situation becomes untenable. Whether advancing the narrative, securing valuable resources, or simply trying to survive, every run offers a different way to play.

PvPvE

DMZ brings rival Operators and hostile forces together in one unpredictable conflict zone, but you choose how much of each threat to take on. Engage enemy factions, move covertly to control escalation, or pursue rival Operators for high-stakes PvP encounters.

The Bounty system turns those hunts into a risk-versus-reward decision, raising your notoriety and putting a price on your head. Every encounter can change the run, whether you fight, avoid, negotiate, or disappear.

FORWARD OPERATING BASE

Before and after every extraction operation inside the DMZ, players return to their Forward Operating Base, a central hub built around preparation, progression, and long-term squad support. The FOB gives players access to key operational services including the 3D Printer crafting station, The Stash where inventory items can be stored between deployments, weapon purchasing, a firing range, bounty boards, and additional upgrade systems that unlock over time.

As players complete Missions, earn XP, and progress through DMZ, the FOB evolves alongside them, unlocking new functionality and supporting their growing capabilities.

TRAITS AND PROGRESSION

DMZ features a dedicated progression system built around persistent inventory and long-term Operator growth. Through the FOB’s Active Duty menu, create a roster of Operators, each with a persistent backpack, loadout, and progression that carry across multiple deployments.​

Earn Trait Points during missions and invest them across three Trait Trees, each focused on a different area of specialization. Unlock passive benefits that allow Operators to develop strengths in combat, infiltration, looting, recovery, or resource gathering. The more you accomplish during an operation, the more XP and progression rewards you earn, giving you new ways to prepare for future deployments and shape each Operator to fit your playstyle.​
