The Venom-X: Infinite Warfare’s Glob of Green Goo Launcher

The Venom-X is here. And it launches all of the gooey, green-y, grenade-y goodness you desire. Unorthodox? Sure. Extremely the good stuff? Absolutely.

Imagine you’re in a confined area. Maybe it’s a few city blocks, maybe it’s a racetrack in the woods, maybe it’s a futuristic resort: doesn’t matter, you’re stuck in this confined space and anywhere from one to six other people want to kill you. In fact, they’ve selected weapons and rigs specifically designed to do just that. Sounds rough, right? What’d you do to them? You’ve gotta defend yourself. These maniacs are out to get you. What weapon do you reach for? You could go the regular route: assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs are all fine choices. But, what if you really want to devastate people? Put some fear into them. Well, friend, it’s time you met Infinite Warfare’s newest weapon: Venom-X.

The Venom-X comes to you with one mission: get green gooey stuff all over your enemies and then blow ‘em up. It’s an experimental projectile launcher with two distinct modes. One fires a long-range projectile that sticks on impact. The second mode quickly fires shorter range projectiles with lower damage but more scatter. As far as a secondary weapon goes, it’s about as robust as you’re gonna get.

Still not sold on the Venom-X? Here’s three reasons to give it a try.

Long Range: Green Goo Grenades

You read that correctly. The long-range projectiles this little fella fires are sticky grenades of gooey, green ka-boom. No aiming down the sights. No need for “super accurate” gun skills. Just spot an enemy, point your Venom-X in their direction and let that sticky green sucker fly. They’re useful when you’re anticipating somebody coming around a corner as well. Like, if you’re playing Domination and you can see a group of enemies making for an objective? Make sure there’s an explode-y gob of green waiting for them when they try to take ‘B’.

Short Range: Slow Advancing Enemies

If you ever find yourself surrounded and need to take care of multiple enemies in your immediate area, consider spraying them green. The short-range fire of the Venom-X sprays an area with less damage but you can see enemies cowering and trying to clear their sights. That buys you time. If you run out of ammo on your primary weapon and don’t have time to reload, you could do a lot worse than switching to the ole’ Venom-X and spraying goo. It’ll buy you a few extra seconds to reload and fire or, if you hit them right, take them out entirely. Feels a bit better than switching to a pistol, no?

This Is How You Reload

Take it in. You see that green sack of goo? That’s your ammo. It’s satisfying as hell to take out enemies in unconventional ways and it doesn’t get less conventional than ending someone with goo. Just don’t get caught up in the animation of the reload. It’d be hard to blame you though if you did. We could watch this reload GIF for hours.

At this point, you’re excited to see the Venom-X in action. Or, you’re tired of getting exploded by other people wielding it with the confidence of a drunk teenager. So, stop reading, get out there and ruin some stranger’s confidence with the Venom-X. You’ll be glad you did.
