Stage 2 of the CWL Pro League, Presented by PlayStation 4, resumed on June 26 with the third week of Division A play at 2:00 PM EDT / 11 AM PDT. When the dust settled, seven teams were found in a deadlock for the four Stage 2 Playoff bids up for grabs.

Here’s what happened during this exciting weekend of CWL action:

Echo Fox Rally to Second

After ending the first half of Stage 2 with three straight losses, Echo Fox (2nd, 7-4, 25-23) strung together four wins in week three to catapult themselves from sixth to second place.

They began their week by taking out Red Reserve (1st, 8-2, 27-15) in a five game thriller, going down 2-0 in the series before they won a wild game of Capture the Flag on Flak Tower.

Following that victory, Echo Fox completed the reverse sweep by winning a Hardpoint and a Search and Destroy on Valkyrie in back-to-back games.

Echo Fox then swept the Evil Geniuses (3rd, 7-4, 27-17) and scraped by Team Kaliber (4th, 6-4, 22-18) before ending their week with a win against Team EnVyUs (5th, 5-5, 22-17).

EnVy were on point in Hardpoint during this series, stealing games one and four from Echo Fox in dramatic fashion.

However, Echo Fox could not be stopped in Search and Destroy or Capture the Flag, claiming victory in game five to end the week with plenty of momentum.

Red Reserve Recover, Remain in First

Despite losing to Echo Fox, Red Reserve stood firm in first place, winning games against Evil Geniuses and FaZe Clan (6th, 5-6, 21-21) to stay atop Division A.

Red almost let their series against EG slip away, as they got too comfortable with a 2-0 lead. In game three -- Capture the Flag on Ardennes Forest -- they allowed EG to win by a single flag capture. Then in a game four Hardpoint on Ardennes Forest, Red buckled under the Geniuses’ offensive pressure forcing the series into a fifth game.

The match was finally settled in the 11th round of an Search and Destroy match on Sainte Marie Du Mont, where Joseph “Joee” Pinnington helped his team to the 3-2 series victory.

Red will have a busier schedule next week, as they will face Epsilon eSports (8th, 0-10, 6-30), Team Kaliber, Team EnVyUs and Splyce (7th, 4-7, 18-27) over three days of competition.

Uncertainty Abound in Playoff Race

Although Red Reserve and Echo Fox lead Division A heading into its final week, nearly every team in the division still has a shot at making the playoffs.

Red is virtually guaranteed to advance, while their fellow Europeans on Splyce will need to mount an incredible three game run next week to see post-season action. Should Team Kaliber lose every game in its upcoming schedule and Splyce manages to best Echo Fox, Epsilon and Red Reserve, they will sneak past Team Kaliber and be on the hunt for the Stage 2 title.

FaZe Clan and Team EnVyUs have better chances at finishing over the playoff cut line, as both teams are a match off of Team Kaliber in fourth place.

With all of these complex playoff scenarios coming into play, only one thing is for certain: there will be fireworks when the CWL Pro League rolls through the week of Independence Day to determine what four Division A teams will be bound for the Stage 2 Playoffs.

The final week of Division A will begin at 2:00 PM EDT/ 11:00 AM PDT on July 3rd with the red hot Echo Fox squad taking on Splyce.
