The Call of Duty World League Championship 2017 is almost here, and it is sure to bring the heat to Orlando, Florida from August 9 through August 13. Here is the lowdown on what you need to know when you head down for the CWL Championship.

Tickets are still on sale on Ticketmaster, while supplies last, for the CWL Championship if you have not grabbed yours already, and for those of you who have already grabbed your tickets and need to plan their weekend, this guide is for you.

General Admission vs. VIP Tickets

As a reminder for the type ticket you bought, there are certain benefits that VIP ticket holders receive over General Admission tickets.

For starters, you VIP ticketholders will receive a VIP hoodie, as well as access to the VIP Lounge. On top of that, you will receive priority seating on all three days of the event that are open to the public, Friday through Sunday.

But regardless of the ticket you bought, you may exit and re-enter the Amway Center at any time during the event. Furthermore, bear in mind that the event is closed to the public on Wednesday and Thursday, so no GA or VIP ticket holders are will allowed in until Friday.

What to Bring vs. What Not to Bring

Fans planning to attend the CWL Championship should read up on the Amway Center’s security policies, as they provide the full list of what can’t be brought into the arena. Don’t bring anything that you usually can’t bring into a live sports event or a concert, including backpacks, outside food and/or beverages, laser pointers, and video/audio recorders

What should you bring? Your energy, your excitement, your favorite Call of Duty team colors to show your support, and your skill for when you play the Call of Duty: World War II multiplayer demo on-site, and. And don’t worry if you don’t have any of your favorite team’s gear, because there will be plenty of exhibitors inside the Amway Center that will offer merchandise from the most popular teams across Call of Duty.

Directions to the Amway Center from Orlando International Airport

If you will be renting a car from the Orlando International Airport, it’s fairly easy to get yourself right to the Amway Center.

From the airport, merge onto Jeff Fuqua Blvd. and keep left to get onto South Semoran Blvd. Take South Semoran Blvd. all the way until you can merge onto FL-408 West. Drive on FL-408 West until you come to exit 11A for FL-15 towards Rosalind Avenue. Take the exit, and then use any lane to turn left onto E South Street. Then make a right on S Garland Ave, a left onto W Church Street, and the Amway Center should be on your right. The actual address of the Amway Center is 400 W Church St #200, Orlando, FL 32801.

CWL Championship Parking Information

For those travelling by car to the CWL Championship, parking is available in the GEICO Garage at 400 West South St.

You can buy a three-day parking pass for the CWL Championship on Ticketmaster.com, or you can purchase one-day passes on the Ticketmaster site, starting on Thursday 8/10.

What to Eat Near the CWL Championship

It might be hard to tear yourself away from the action at the event, but don’t forget to eat! The arena already provides great dining options inside, and outside the arena, there are plenty of places to grab some food and beverages before, during and after each day of play.

For breakfast, the Café Express at 20 N Orange Ave is a quick counter-service option to fill you up in the morning. If you rather sit down to eat, then the Artisan’s Table at 22 E Pine St is a solid breakfast location, while Le Gourmet Break at 150 S Magnolia Avenue is perfect for a French café style breakfast.

For food later in the day, there are plenty of options at your disposal. Some of which include a Spanish small plates bar at the Ceviche Tapas Bar located at 125 W Church St, a sushi restaurant called Amura Japanese Restaurant at 54 W Church St., and a fast-casual favorite Wahlburgers located at 200 S Orange Ave.

Finally, for those who are fans of soccer/football/futbol, the Harp and Celt Pub at 25 S Magnolia Ave is known for broadcasting Premier League Football, which will start right on the weekend of the CWL Championship. It also offers some quality drinks for those over the legal drinking age, as well as traditional and authentic Irish Pub food.

What to Do Outside of the CWL Championship

Orlando is not only the home of this year’s CWL Championship, it is also the spot to some of the world’s most iconic theme parks and attractions.

Less than ten miles away from the Amway Center, the Universal Orlando Resort provides two theme parks on site where you can be at the center of all of your favorite Universal films and worlds. The Universal Orlando Resort also offers as the Universal CityWalk, which offers restaurant, entertainment, and nightlife options. It’s a perfect destination to hang out after watching a full day of Call of Duty or on a non-tournament night, especially because parking is free after 6 p.m. at the resort.

Near Universal Studios is a standalone attraction that gives you one of the best views of Orlando: the Coca-Cola Orlando Eye. For a fraction of the cost of a theme park ticket, you can have a 360-degree view of the Theme Park Capital of the World four-hundred feet in the air.

And if you venture out a bit further, then you can visit the Happiest Place on Earth known as Disney World. Four theme parks, two water parks, an outdoor entertainment and dining complex at Disney Springs, and all of your favorite Disney characters.

If you rather watch a movie right near the Amway Center, then there is a 12-screen cinema right at 155 S Orange Ave that is showing the latest summer blockbusters.
