Rebirth Island is filled with uneven terrain; its highest elevation point is at its center, with the Security Area, Factory, and Docks all located barely above sea level. During any and all infiltrations, know that fighting uphill will often leave your squad at a disadvantage, so plan those drops accordingly.
Although it may seem trivial, learning what cells are open in each hallway within the Prison Block can help your squad build your loadout up in the early game and, more importantly, prevent ambushes. The cells are just big enough to fit an operator, making them prime for CQB combatants squatting in wait for an unsuspecting target.
Quays for Finding Leftover Items
The short concrete jetties around the island might contain some leftover loadout items or Supply Boxes, with one at the island’s northern tip even having a chance at being a Buy Station location. Check all of these small outlets if you’re looking for items when surrounding structures are picked clean but beware that these areas are dead ends surrounded by dangerous waters.
The Yellow Door
The Headquarters Command Center’s first floor has a locked yellow door; those who have the code could crack open the secrets of Rebirth Island, and might get a reward for doing so… Just remember to pack some CQB weapons to deal with fellow Easter Egg hunters who lurk inside this building.
Confusion on the Assembly Line
Other than the Prison Block, the Factory is the most complex area on Rebirth Island given the number of entry points on all its floors. Listen closely to footsteps that may be from levels above and below you and prepare to strike with a CQB weapon when navigating this tricky interior layout.
Back to the Lab Again
The Bioweapons Lab tends to be a hot drop due to its verticality and abundance of items. Fighting your way here after an infil? Try working up the cliffs from the Chemical Engineering Factory and sneaking around up the side stairwell.
Need a less conspicuous way into the Prison Block? Head to where the Shore is marked on your Tac Map to find a tunnel into its basement. You’ll pop up right in the Showers area, which has a staircase up to the main cell block where plenty of action can take place.
Reinforcements by the Boatload
Due to its size, Rebirth Island is prime for multi-party engagements, particularly when playing the Resurgence game mode where respawns can lead to lone wolves diving back in for revenge. If your squad does not want to get overwhelmed, try waiting for fights in progress to settle, then pick off the remaining survivors and collect the spoils of war for yourselves.
Always on Time
The Tram (AKA gondola) shuttles constantly between the top of the Prison Block and a Dockside platform, making it an unconventional sniping location up the island’s east side. However, know that the predictable movement pattern, and the lack of doors and windows, could leave you a sitting duck for trained marksmen looking for a quick pick.
One Packed Penitentiary
It’s no secret that the Prison Block will be the focal point for action on Rebirth Island, only getting less popular if the circle collapse decides to roll over it. Expect flanks from all sides within this massive complex, knowing your loadouts strengths to deal with threats in whatever floor you fight through.
