Sitrep pro now counters silent footsteps

Per 402's twitter, sitrep pro now cancels out dead silence.
I dont know how everyone feels about this, but i think it's pretty crappy and essentially makes dead silence useless and makes sitrep pro OP.
There are plenty of things that counter one another out in COD how is making sitrep pro counter Dead Silence OP?
The reason sitrep pro is so bad in mw3 is it ENCOURAGES corner-camping and sound-whoring, ESPECIALLY in S&D
. Just think, if you have sitrep pro on, ALL enemy footsteps are increased 4X, so if you are camping with a decent headset, you will always have the advantage over the guy that chooses to actually run around. Sitrep Pro trumps Dead Silence now, and there is nothing to overcome sitrep pro. So sitrep pro = camper pro in MW3 ![]()
Or you can stop just runing around and learn where people camp and crouch around them areas sorry the game can not make it much easier for you. Campers suck hence why they camp.
Sitrep not OP.
1. Not everyone will be running it.
2. I believe it will only pick up C4s, Claymores, and Tacts, won't show sentries or SAMs.
3. Also, since I consider SitRep to be like Hacker from Blops, SitRep needs to have another ability since we won't be able to hack things now.
Yeah and it is in the same Tier set as Dead silence so it will balance itself out.

Thats not so bad. If you run sit rep, you will still be loud, loud, loud. As long as they keep the audio levels from MW2 of course.
Agreed i think its going to be the most used perk in that slot. Dead Silence was already looking like a lesser perk than before because they nerfed its main ability of total silence when moving but maybe the saving grace about dead silence is the reduced effect of recon if that becomes a popular perk choice.
I dont know about you but would this perk set up made more sense and have all perks on an equal footing:
Stalker: Move faster while ADS
Stalker Pro: Hear enemy footsteps louder
Sit Rep: Detect Enemy Explosives
Sit Rep Pro: Delay Enemy Explosives

Alexjt, that may have been done for balance reasons. Surely there was some reason to split it up because that does make alot of sence.
What I don't understand is why people are upset about different perks having counters to each other. I was just in a thread where people were complaining that there was no proper count to Assassin, and now I read that its a bad thing that Dead Silence DOES have a counter... which it DID have in MW2 anway, but you were probably to busy running around and your own footsteps sound over-powered the enemies.
Depending on the situation/class set-up/game type I will probably be rocking both Sit-Rep and DS on different loadouts.
The people who run around with SitRep Pro will be much more deadly than those who camp with it. I've always felt that SitRep was a perk for rushers, not campers. Think about it, you can hear everything. So, you always have the advantage, whether mobile or stationary. However, when mobile you have access to more kills and objectives than a camper, so you're going to do much better than that coward.
Trust me, campers won't be a problem. The rushers will be, though.
Let's be realistic about this. Dead Silence is countered by SitRep. As it should. But What SitRep will most likely do is make DS users sound like normal. Which is not that bad, In SnD you need gun skill and tact movements to do well. You secure the area, Plant, Defend the area. Running in planting you should die. And if they don;t have DS you can hear them, so deal with them.
It is good to hear. Ninja in mw2 was too absolute. The perk is still valuable but not dominant.
I agree with you man. Why run Dead Silence if it is useless to people who are wearing Sit Rep? It doesn't make sense to me. AND why call it DEAD SILENCE if you're not dead silent?
Still looking forward to the game. This is honestly the only thing that I am bummed out about.
I love it!! I loved Sitrep Pro in MW2 and can't put into words how happy it makes me knowing the BEADS class just got less OP.
Thank god it counters dead silence. Something needs to! Perhaps sit rep is OP now, but dead silence was OP to start with for all the head set users. A perk to counter a perk. For all the little sound whores.... You can still sound whore a sit rep user! Now it's even ground!!!!!!! Dead silence is one sided and games can boil down to luck rather then skill. I have seen people run by each other, both using deaf silence, and just toss the game out the window in S&D. So seeing a perk that can actually turn this game back into a game of gun skill and intelligence is a god send.
Also, if you are any good what so ever, you can use any third perk and not just deaf silence! In S&D 95% of people use dead silence. Why even have a third perk? It's pointless to use anything but dead silence... UNTIL NOW!
Anyone remember the CoD4 days? You couldn't have dead silence and rush, it was one or the other!
