Cap on semi automatics in MW3

I wanted to know if there was going to be a fire cap on semi-automatics in MW3 because one thing that irks me about MW2 is the people with auto FALs and pistols.
I hope so..
I hope not, it ruined them for people with legitimately fast fingers.
That is true, but it was a huge exploit in MW2. The way an automatic FAL killed was ridiculous. I'd rather them cap the guns then having people abusing them. But heres to hoping they can up the cap so someone with a fast finger can still benefit, but a turbo controller doesn't abuse the system.
I some what agree with you, but i am unfortunaly one of the people with legit fast fingers, i can fire a ak47 semi auto at 1.52sec while fully auto on that gun is 1.44sec. i just wish that people would stop possing as legit and play to their skills; note I am a exibition shooter

Should there be... yes.
Will there be... IW.
... what do you think?

100% agree with this.

I don't think a ROF cap is the answer - when they brought in the cap for CoD4 I was disappointed - it really nerfed the M14 and the pistols for me where every few shots your trigger would essentially fire a blank. There was a ROF cap in place for MW2 as well and it varied from weapon to weapon (e.g. Deagle had a lower cap than the USP) and from what you guys are saying, there were still auto FALs. Maybe they could check the timing in between shots and if it's uniform across 10 shots, then they know the user is using a modded controller and boot them. Whatever their solution is, I hope it's not a ROF cap - just screws people who can legitimately pull the trigger fast.
I used to play a TON of paintball and airsoft matches. My trigger finger is F>A>S>T and the ROF cap killed me. I couldn't use the FAL or M14. I know this is an IW forum, but BLOPS was the worst for the cap. The FN FAL (effin fail is more like it) was terrible after they "fixed" it.
I think the best way to guard against modded controllers is to get rid of them... If you can't compete on a level playing field, then why play? But I'm not a troll and this isn't a flame thread so I'll drop it. I just hope they find a way to guard against it but still leave enough room for fast fingers.
That's what I am hoping for also.
I don't think there is going to be a firing cap. I thought that it was a good idea at first when Black Ops came out but I came to hate it. I really feel that it hurt more than it helped. Sure, the modded controller a holes can be annoying but I don't remember there being all that many in MW2. They just put themselves on display so everyone can see what scum bags they are.
I wish they would add a selector switch

This. Correct me if I'm wrong but has any COD game recently used the dowm button on the control pad?
Pretty sure that can be used, but I'm not sure if it's in use, especially now that we can cycle through killstreaks and I have no idea how you switch sights on the hybrid sight.
Weapon attachments - left thingy, cycle killstreaks - up/down thingies, actual killstreaks - right thingy.
Don't quote me on it.
Hey! I said don't quote me on it!
But yes, why wouldn't you? Everyone's thingy is a thingy of power, amico! Look at the movie "The Thingy"! Epic movie!

That would be unfair.
I have a fast trigger finger, so I stand a chance with a FAL when facing against someone with a fully auto. If they capped the fire rate on the semi auto's then they would become less effective for people like me. Heck, why even use a semi auto if it limits how fast you can shoot it?
Also, "semi-Auto" implies that you can shoot the gun as fast as you can pull the trigger. If you cap that, then it's not really a semi-auto, is it?
Good point. Tell Treyarch and SH this.
I think you misinterpreted me. I don't want a CAP that faults people that actually have a fast finger because I have one of them too. However, I hope with MW3 they can find a way to either ban people with modded controllers (I know they will have theatre and report but how effective will it be?). Or I hope they have a cap that is high enough that it isn't detrimental to people with a fast finger, but can distinguish between a normal person and a modded controller. Because in MW2 you can tell when someone who is using a mod compared to someone who is a fast shooter. The FAL especially doesn't miss a beat. Againt this is coming from someone who uses their middle finger to shoot faster with the FAL or the USP 45
Like many posts it would be best not to cap but use another solution to deal with modded controllers. Perhaps a simple report and ban as in BO? So legit users on single shot can continue to enjoy their fav. gun.
