As one who understands what a beta is...
... the BF3 "beta" was actually the BF3 "teaser"...
... giving feedback on a build that is already obselete is pointless.
It was a marketing gimic.
And how many people on their forums, the CoD forums (the ones who like the game), and any other group of people wanted this beta? Tons. They put it out there not just for testing the servers for stability, but because their fans wanted one.
If it was a marketing gimmick, they would have released a current build and released it earlier. Most of you here showed dissatisfaction with the beta and marked the game as a "meh" or "suck". Some people will hesitate to buy because of the horrendous map Dice gave us. They also released it late and some of you think that the retail will come out the same since they have to start shipping by now. Doesn't sound so much like a gimmick.
It was far from pointless, but if you want to believe that, be my guest.
