The toughest people on planet Earth play COD.

Posted by RAMBONER on Mar 11, 2013 8:56 AM

Nearly every lobby, every night when my mic is on I get the glorious opportunity to hear the "toughest, baddest, meanest, most fearless" human beings in the world.  Boxing, UFC, NFL, NHL need to really start looking into COD players to fill their spots when they need some "muscle".

Last night I am playing core KC on Meltdown.  The lobby is full beginning to end and the final score is 56-48.  Back in the lobby I tell my buddy "dam man that was fkn boring how in the hell does a match go that slow" and from the depths of "billy badass" a guy on the other team procedes to tell me how bad he would F me up and what a B1tch I am.  Now he sounds like a grown man not a 12 year old, actually the opposite he is definately my age or older (33).  I let him spout off a few minutes and say "I wasnt even talking to you so wtf is your problem the match was boring".

Big mistake.......Now he wants my address and is going to come to my house and kill me.  I am actually having a hard time typing this out of fear for my life as Mr. internet tough guy could show up any minute.

Why is it that everyone gets so worked up and is so aggressive?  When I was younger I was like that but now the only way I am fighting is if you hurt my kids, wife, dogs or a catch you breaking into my house.  In which case I will just shoot you anyway and call the Po Po.  The good ol make my day law.....but the last thing I am going to get worked up over is a video game.  There is a large number of people who play this game that would LITERALLY risk their lives over some smack talk in a lobby.  The wrong guy says the wrong thing to some psycho who lives close and it could, potentially lead to a bad situation.  OVER A GAME.....A VIDEO GAME.

Quick story:  In a lobby a few weeks ago and a guy is going at me about coming to my house and "beating me up" and a friend of mine IRL who I am playing with procedes to get into an argument with this guy and give him his address.  Now fyi my buddy (not a great friend) is a very very pudgy 5'8" 230lb guy who couldnt fight his way out of a wet paper sack and who I could literally roll up with one arm or just sick my 5 year old on, but he proceded to actually give this guy his address adding to the "internet tought guy" phenominon.

Kind of long winded here but my point is there are some flat psyco people out there who are not just "internet tough guys" and would gut someone with a spoon and enjoy it.  Why risk it over sounding tough to some guy you are never going to see or meet

I remember a discussion I made about that incident. I can't believe someone would loose it like that! Crazy.

A few weeks ago my friend and I found our way into a match. My friends clan tag is (vtec), he drives a Honda and its a pretty nice car I might add. This the first vehicle he's been able to call his and is proud of it. Anyway, some guy on the other team saw it and lost his damn mind. He went on about how he drives a Mustang and how he "gets the *******" with it. I even found out he takes steroids to get "jacked". His ego was so huge that if anyone else started to talk, regardless of whether it had to do with the conversation previously had, he insisted on speaking over that person to avoid being contested.

What's funny is that he didn't know the difference between Hyundai and Honda, he honestly said they were the same company along with Acura. Funny how these guys tend to be utter morons

I don't know much about cars, just how to do the basic maintaince. I do know he drives a 2012 SI and it's the higher end version of the car. Point is, why dis someone over their car when its clear you know nothing of them

I don't get it either.  Some people do it to just troll and others are just...well they are not right in the head lol.  I've gotten all sorts of hate mail from people when I've just finished stomping them.  I respond with "U mad bro?" and then that is that.  I funny some of it to be quite amusing.  It just makes me realize how messed up we as a society really are.

Sometimes its too entertaining to mute everyone. I especially like the super ghetto tweens. They freak out over everything and some stuff they say is halarious, that is, if you can understand them

Absolutely!  i almost always keep the mics on, it warms my heart to upset these little DBags that aren't supposed to be playing COD anyways.

Every so join a game mid stream and can't mute (wish there was a persistent mute all except party option) and am surprised by the decent discussion taking place.  BUT. More often than not the heros are online spouting something not so decent.  I often think IF aliens were judging humanity based on listening to COD lobby chatter they would toast the planet and move on.

Wow, is that what's going on?  I mute everyone in the lobby before the match, if I get dumped into an on-going match, I mute them individually from the dashboard before I play. Sometimes I get killed while I spend 10 seconds doing that, but it's just a game!

Most of the time you can't understand what they're saying, or they're humming, making stupid 12 year olds noises or subjecting everyone to their idea of awesome music.

All mic's have a way to be muted on or off, unless you have anything of any significance to say, why do you even have it on?? You can still hear the idiots and children if you must but at least you won't be contributing your coughs & sneezes.

Mute 'em all, then kill 'em!

I think its safe to say we all get frustrated at some point playing the game, its simply part of it. Other such as the person you encountered are manifesting through online interaction what they can't do in real life.

    Its pathetic, but real.

I encounter them, but remain quiet. I do however always question the ones who continuously cry about campers, with one simple question. Did they beat you?

I like to go along with people and encourage them when they get going. Always ends in them suddenly realising that you were making an idiot out of them and they go quiet.

On multi-team you get some real hard men. Like Steven Seagal hard.

I am opposite to these people. My fave thing is to see someone struggling who is low level or just struggling at the bottom of the team and to try to encourage them. I'll be behind them and start using their name (You'd be surprised how many people listen to comms without a mic!) 'Come on xxn00bxx lets go get 'em!' 'Oh you were close there, don't worry he was hacking you'll get him next time! C'mon lets go hunt him down!' and actually help by calling out locations when I see enemies etc.

Obviously, some people hate this, especially the good player who is having a randomly bad match! But I am being genuine and trying to help them and maybe pick them up a bit. I get a lot of friend requests and messages after games when I do this. I don't think people expect anyone to actually be friendly during the game!

Nice! I do the same thing quit a bit. I'll even go as far as giving up CPs to struggling players sometimes. Gave up a Swarm a couple of days ago.

I just find it funny and love it when people obviously benefit.

If you have a good name you are more likely to have a Spoons in your ear.

The last guy I helped was called Ketlz (Kettles) and I loved this name. I was talking to him all game anyway and in the lobby. Which is lol because he didn't have a mic but when we got back into the next game, he followed me everywhere and we were a good team!!

Ran into this same crap last night. I was playing with a friend and some guys from his clan and as soon as we jumped into this lobby there were these two hillbilly pieces of trash just throwing the N word around like nothing. Well just so happened that one of the guys in my friend's clan is black and took offense, obviously, once they started directing the talk towards him. A bunch of internet tough guy talk ensues and after threats of real-life violence are given one of the racist clowns gives out his address and says to come find him. One guy was in Ohio and the other Washington so nothing will ever come of it but you're right, one of these days it's going to happen between two idiots in the same town and who knows what'll happen.

Well, as long as not other innocent people get hurt, I say let them destroy each other. Let the problem resolve itself. lol

About the N word thing, I hear that ALL the time. I see clan tags KKK and there player cards have a Nazi flag on it. I see this crap all the time. Ignorance is bliss unfortunately.

Haha yeah I guess. Just seems so silly and pointless to me. People seem to get their feelings bruised so easily and can't just let **** go. It really says a lot about their lack of self-worth when they feel they need to bully or try to intimidate others over a game.

Your right about that!!!! I just don't understand why CoD brings that out of people, especially starting with MW3. I mean, you would get trash talk now and again in BO1 but the rage the past two installments that is brought out of people is really astonishing. Even going back further I still can't say "it's always been this bad.". Not much you can do about it though.

True...the neanderthal contingent seems to be growing with each release. It's pretty disappointing but considering that it doesn't take a ton of brain cells to jump right into any CoD game, it's bound to continue.

Because Black Ops opened the door for CoD to be all inclusive. It was super easy, down right nO-Obish, mostly everything you saw catered to kids and pre-pubes. The graphics, perks, KS, CoDpoint system, emblem editor, etc.

Now the Vets are left with these Diaper Donny who know they sound like kids, but have to act tough because of all the higher testerone levels they can hear. I personally would punch any of the teenagers dead in their mouth when I saw them, then I'd have my 14 year old son stomp them after I was done. I'm not in to letting a child have their way. These peach fuzz bandits need to have their parents taken away.. for their own good.
