how can this happen?

How is it possible for you to have a Ultra kill title(8 rapid kills) and not get a Mega kill title(7 rapid kills)? i have all the chain titles leading up to the Ultra kill (from 2 kills to 8 kills) except the Mega kill. how is this possible? i mean how can you have an 8 kill title and not get the 7 kill title at the same time. 7 comes before 8.
