Is there any point using a gun on this game?

Just saying as I seem to be having more games lately where it's hard to kill someone. I don't mind losing gun fights face to face, but getting fed up of shooting people in the back or their side with no effect. They either just run off round a corner or turn and insta kill me, as everyone puts it. Quite annoying. I don't think it's lag cos 8 out of 10 times the game runs smooth for me. (Must be one of the lucky ones). Would be more effective for me to run around with a feather duster, haha. They should make that a downloadable weapon in the next DLC.
