Black Ops 2 for ps3 I have a question.

Posted by noobtastic1 on Jan 9, 2013 11:28 AM

How enjoyable is your experience with black ops 2 for the ps3. It is going to be the game i play most on my ps3 when I get my ps3 so I am hoping it is playable and fun.

If you have an xbox I would recoment going for it there instead just personal opinion... Lots of guys with the freeze and sound bug... my ps3 has a bad wireless now due to a recent freeze... constantly getting d/c of games now due to it... lag and more lag... but hey not everyone is going through such i guess..

Lets start like this. The system is 5 months old tops. Always been fine playing all my games and streaming all my content just fine. But it started to freeze while playing bo2 and when is not the freeze is the sound bug but at least the sound bug you can just turn off the system properly still. Me and my hard head of not just giving up on the game continued to play and with 3 to 5 freezes a day... this being after I done all the mentioned support from activision (reformat, rebuild database, blah blah) still freezing. So about two days ago it frooze once again. As I reinitiated the system had big problems connecting to the wifi... I had to redo all the settings several times and turn off and on several times before it connected. But since then after an hour or so of game I get disconected from the wifi overall... (there are two ps3 in the house and both are set up with static ip and on dmz) the second system works great and pc stays connected just the one system where bo2 is played on that doesnt... everytime it does this disconnect I have to restart the system several times before it connects again. So I hope I gave enough background to support my claim. A lot of systems got bricked by the game so why not a malfunction on the wireless due to it...???

I've had minimal problems with BO2 on the PS3. No freezing, little lag, no glitches yet to speak of. I've encountered the dreaded sound bug (your audio gets extremely distorted and you have to back out of the game to fix it) twice now, but that's been it so far.

I'm enjoying it, it's probably my favorite COD so far. So, I'd give it a try.

I'm going to be honest and say the game's forum is one of the worst places to come for feedback, since forums are usually where complaints and criticism are constantly incoming from frustrated people. You don't really see threads talking about how awesome something is, because there's really no point. You'll really only be seeing the bad, in other words; not the good. So, I'd go seek some formal reviews elsewhere (Amazon, perhaps, since they'll be from normal gamers, and not paid staff) to see some unbiased opinions.

I say the opposite, this place it's good for feedback cause users says the bad things about the game.

It has a lot of bugs, it feels like an unfinished game, a lot of glitchers, i don't recommend buying it. It needs alot of fixes, maybe you will get connection problems like "lag compensation" i don't have problems with that, but still have to deal with other problems in the game.

If you have an awesome connection i wouldn't recommend buying it. Otherwise, if you can deal with it then go for it.

For me there is one thing that is holding this game back and that is the extremely unpredictable connections. Sometimes it feels like host has god mode other times the guy running a 1 bar connection. 3 vs 4 bar is also extremely inconsistent. One day connection feels great then the next it feels worse than MW3. MW3's connection might have been bad but atleast it was consistently bad so you could kind of adjust but Blops 2 is inconsistent and unpredictable.

Personally I'm really enjoying the game at the moment.  I have some minor issues with lag but I don't seem to be getting anywhere near as much as other people on here so I'm not complaining.  I think the graphics and sounds are great, I like probably 70% of the maps, I like the pick 10 system and I also like scorestreak system.  People have been moaning about the SMG's being overpowered.  If that's the case, why don't these people simply adapt and use the SMG's?

Anyway, overall I would definately recommend the game!

As with most online games there is lag,glitches...ect but it is getting better some days are better than others. we play it all the time here and really enjoy it.Looking forward to the new dlc pack.It takes a while as in the other games to get load out right for diff maps and play styles but well worth the money if you ask me.

My ps3 was bought march 1, 2012 and this game has frozen my ps3 over 30 times.  Your choice but i know of a gamestop who has a fairly used copy.  Got $30.00 for it what a waste

The console freezing described above isn't an embellishment.  Since buying the game on opening night I've easily had 50 or so freeze ups.  Luckily it hasn't severely damaged my console as of yet.  The game was designed with some decent ideas in mind, however I find myself going back to older versions.

I have not had a freeze since 1.04 and I play a lot - by waiting to buy you have missed most of the problems.

    I'd say you'll enjoy it.

Yes I have a Slim - the freezing has nothing to do with over heating - it was (is) a coding problem with the game - which for me has been resolved by patch 1.04.

You cannot get Black Ops 2 by digital download as far as I know - you'll have to buy a disk.
