Any old cod that still have a good player base???

Posted by jairumaximus on Jan 7, 2013 7:32 PM

I am a first time online player on bo2 but I have played all older cod story mode just not multiplayer since I had no internet until recently. So after this fiasco that is bo2 I am thinking on going to the store and buying one of the older cod to just play and have some old school fun. If I could get some opinions from you guys that still play them on which still has a good player base and enough people to go around for some good games. Thank you in advance for any help.

MW2. CLASSIC. There may be some hack BS, most users of them are on these games now. TDM and Dom are your best choices for high player counts.

Just buy it and play them! What difference does anyone's opinion have on what you find fun! Just do it, I have all my previous titles and I will play them on occasion to compare.

I don't know the player counts online, but I would suggest you stay away from the Treyarch COD's since you don't seem to like BO2.  So that leaves you with MW, MW2, and MW3.  The bad part is, they are in that order from best to worst IMO... the players counts are probably lower the older they are as well.  I would personally go with either MW or MW2.

I don't recommend any title before Black ops 1. All COD games before it are hacked to a extreme and/or have a very very low player count. You will experience a lot of lag with the game forcing you to join games with very far way hosts because no other games are available.

Black ops1 last best cod game. You will still find tons of people playing it. MW2 is fun and all but the hacks ruining it. If you do get MW2 its like 10$ try playing 3rd person its the best mode in COD to date.

I played a little MW3 recently and it seems to be a lot better than before. I'm not sure if I'm just used to all the lag in BO2 or they actually did something with MW3 but it seemed to play a lot better than before.

All of the older COD games seem to magically get better once a new title releases.  It's almost the same as seeing gas prices fall a few cents and think "hell yeah I'm gettin gas at $3.10 today" when just a few years ago it was like $1.80....we're just becoming desensitized!

MW "COD 4", MW2, BLOPS I MW 3, all have some good lobby's.. I recently went back and played MW "COD 4" & MW 2, MW 3 and it was great.. you will find some people hacking but its easy enough to back out and find a new lobby.. IW has put out a few updates for MW & MW 2 that helped out with the big hacks.. MW 2 is probably the worse, its hard to get in a lobby but when you do find one most people are looking for no hack lobby's so its been fun.. BLOPS I, MW 3 are playable but have a few hacks and the servers fill over loaded in BLOPS I.. point is a the COD games are playable but have some hacks "Including BLOPS II". Hacked lobby's are apart of the COD experience.. if you haven't been killed by a "Aim Bot Hacker or some other Hacker Nerd" you cant call yourself a Vet in the COD world.. oh and I hated WAW so much I forget its a COD game, so I have no clue if is playable.... the game was unplayable when it came out, so I don't know what its like now.. my advice get the old games and play them.. you can get most of them for around $10 used.. MW3 and BLOPS I may cost a little more but they are worth it.. good luck.

I played WaW last month too, I enjoyed it, and was happy that there wasn't any hackers. There are not a ton of players but enough to get into games, provided you made sure the mode you select has the most players.

Mw3 still has plenty of people buy used.  Bo1 played groundwar the othet day got 2 chopper gunners so plenty people there to again buy used.  Mw2; played last November no problem getting a match.  There are hacks mainly a bunch of words in neon pops up.  But alot of fun.

I'd go with MW2 and MW3 - I was on MW3 Sunday for the Clan Op and there was 154,000 people playing it - its probably your best bet.

If I were you I'd pick them up used - you'll save money and you'll still get the full game because Activision doesn't screw people with that "Online Pass" Bullsht like EA games does.
