Surprising myself on how well I'm doing while sniping...

I've been itching to have the Ballista with iron sights for 7 Prestiges now, but didn't really wanna take the whooping I knew was coming by sniping.

 

Last night I decided to equip it and have had some awesome games. It's amazing how easy the game is when one shot kills an enemy.

 

I've got the CPU thingy and FMJ on it. It's a shame Collateral Damage isn't a challenge cos I've got it about 10 times over!! I think I'm about 20 kills away from having the iron sights

 

Here's a little sample of what I've been getting up to... might not look much to veteran snipers, but for an amateur like me it's pretty good...

    The DSR is so overrated I'll take the Ballista faster handling speeds over the DSR's raw power plus the Ballista looks awesome in diamond

    this is why i hate players using snipe rifles on this series apart from black ops 1, lmfao

    I dont think any of those shots got anywhere near the targets (take a close look), yet you killed them!

     

    Sniper rifles with quickscoping from short range along with those overpowered pistols really do my nut in, and lets not forget the shotguns!

     

    maybe i should give sniping a go

      It's just how it looks in Theatre, mate. Was bang on in the game.

        i can second that because i'm a sniper and believe me you have to be spot on. even sometimes i am scratching my head saying omg that was right on him but it didnt even get hitmarker

        I don't snipe but I buy this. The kill-cams just aren't that accurate at times. This does surprise me though because of the way the way naid kills are shown. Notice how the naid almost always ends up between the players feet on the kill-calm regardless of whether the throw was really that good or not. They obviously have rigged it this way for dramatic effect.

      Alot of people don't seem to realise that killcams and theatre do not provide an accurate representation of what happened and saddly this generates alot of hate towards snipers

        very true mate. the classic moment where you get final killcam with your sniper and then you hear the classic " it wasnt even on him " comments over headset

          Or the common misconception that QSers don't fully aim down their scope and aim assit does the rest. Watch from 0.45 to 1.53 and enlighten yourselves before making ignorant comments

            I am not ignorant, i can use snipers,and quickscope, but choose not to, i get far more kills using an smg.

            I just get annoyed when i get dragged scoped or quciked scoped, when its like some guy has ran around the corner head on and popped shotted me off with a single shot quick scope right after i have laid about 3-4 hit markers in him.

            They should make the rifles act like they do in black ops1, much more difficult to get close quarter kills

              Personally I liked blops 1 sniping too because it was too hard for the 12 year olds. As for you putting hitmarkers on a sniper only for him to pop shot you it's not the snipers fault, it's the lag and there's not really much you can do about it.

    nice triple mate i myself am a sniper(but nowhere near great) but i just enjoy using them. currently on 200 one shot kills on ballista so need 50 more to get into the gold challenges. have the DSR 50 gold but i actually prefer the ballista. good to see you're having fun mate and keep it up

      Can't do it on all maps though. If Slums, Hijacked or Express pop up I'll play as I usually do.

        i thought the same but i really did surprise myself while sniping on all maps. its all about finding the good spots to get 2-3 kills and then move to another and rinse repeat. i thought i would be so crap on them maps with sniper but you could even be more surprised at yourself if you try it out lol

    Just for the record, I have never and will never QS. If the sniper rifle comes out it will be used fully as intended.
