Black Ops II Competitions are Live!

Glad to see they are announcing this and we should see many more in the next couple weeks!  Hopefully they fixed a lot of the bugs that were present.

    Nice, good information.

     

    Problems:

     

    They have not addressed rewards for leveling up clans.

     

    They have not addressed clan titles and clan tags ( a menu needs to be placed within BO2 to select both)

    There is detail missing that may be different than what the community is expecting this weekend.

     

    As the notice states, this is a 'Double XP weekend for these three events".  As Double XP during Roll Out Weekend was only for those who had entered the code for Nuketown, the notice is unclear if this includes all players.  MW3 did not distinquish between match types or Premium or other statuses.  BO2 has targetted Double XP for a certain group.  The notice says only these events will get Double XP.

     

    Of course, we won't know til we get some.  In the mean time, it is clear that if one is a clan member and the clan is enlisted in these events, one will get Double XP for playing during the day/time of the specific match type.

     

    Oh, a secondary issue......Hardcore kills were included in the Core TDM Clan Ops and Challenges previously.  This may be a factor this weekend.

      This is double clan xp...meaning the any XP the clan earns is doubled, not for the individual players.  That being said, the entire weekend is double XP for all players.  So technically everyone is getting double XP and your clan will get double XP. To try and make this even more clear: the members of a clan do not get 4X XP.

        I haven't found any reference to Double XP players except form you.  I iwll cross my fingers and continue to verify.  

         

        This is like Christmas pudding.....we won't KNOW until we get some.

          Also - When I started the game last night I got the popup that told me about the Double XP.

            Precisely.  Just like they bragged about how great the Elite app and website would be at game rollout.  WE need the references in the forums because a player can only pass along the credibility of the game/company.  Treyarch's news items do not mesh up with the actualities of the game.  Half baked and over promised.  Reminds me of a DOT com company.  Wait, they almost are!   

             

            So, instead of stating unequivocally a player Double XP weekend, one could state the source....exactly one tweet about Double XP, which is not supported by the actual News Item, and an in-game popup.

             

            Again, we won't know until we get some.  Better to shape expectations, seeing how nondevs are announcing events without reference.

             

            What we know.......Double Clan XP for the three events.  A tweet and in-game popup that may be missing the detail of Clan XP in those messages.

              I have already been told in a few different venues that I am getting Double XP and my clan will be getting Double XP.  David Vonderhaar announced it via twitter. @CallOfDuty retweeted it. The news item announced the clan double XP.  The first thing I saw when I booted up my game was the notice about the double XP weekend. 

               

              The things I haven't seen are official posts in the forums about it. An official News Item announcing the double XP.

               

              You can have your doubts and I will rest assured that I'm going to get double XP and double clan XP this weekend.

                We didn't know until we got some, and tweets from Vonderhaar says he just turned it on.  I was resting assured in my wait anyway, you can be assured of that.

                 

                Note that this is referenced, not a comment I try to attribute to me. 

                 

                Per Vonderhaar: They drew x2 XP First Blood, not me.  Turning Double XP on right about.....now. ^djv

    Well, if any of you want to be the best you surely have to buy the best seller... you may think it's rubbish but I truly recommend
