Probation because I backed out because of LAG. That's fine.

I will continue to do so. It's worth it. (Sorry about the Host Migration). If I get a 24 hour ban, I will just put in BO1, which is virtually LAG-FREE for me. Usually I'm so frustrated by that point, I want to play something else anyways.

 

How are you going to make a game that is as fast paced as BO2 without PERFECT, precision hit detection?

      I don't know. I've been put on 1 minute probation multiple times but no 24 hour ban yet. A guy that I play with has though. He reset his modem and XBOX and found out that he was banned.

        I have had two short probation, one right after the other, when I lost the conncection to the host several times and then having my Xbox freeze. It was likely my router's fault, but there was really nothing that I could do about it...

         

        Annoying, but not the end of the world.

    Why does this game even have probation? For some reason my disc sometimes doesent work somtimes and makes the game look green. then cause I exited the game to try and fix the problem. Then the next thing I know I am on probation. Apart from that the games is good.

      I reckon out of the last 20 games I played, only 3 played anything like ! The game on my 20 up is severly broken for me !

        What's your ping?  Upload speed plays no part in latency.

          Just tested ping is 15, but I will be honest it's just a number to me I am no IT expert lol.

            Ping a server a couple of states away. I get 29ms to 8.8.8.8

              Sure, but what is your Xbox's ping to whatever location?  Your computer has a totally different ping than your Xbox.

                That's a good question. Unfortunately, there's no way to know. The only way to get anywhere close is to ping from your computer. At least you will know if its on your end or not.

                  there is a away to get the ip addresses thatr xbox live connects to during games, u need software called wireshark...there is a tutorial on xbox, and u can also use IE on xbox to test ur xbox's ping

      If you have the space, try copying it to your hard drive.

      You'll need the need the disc in the drive when you start up, but it won't constantly run from your optic drive.

      I couldn't.  My life depends on that one minute.  If I had to use that minute not playing Black Ops 2 I could have a stroke or worse.  I could be standing and walking around doing something!!!  What a terrible idea!

        If they don't fix it then no map packs will be purchased by myself and many others. I know if my friends and I feel  that way, I'm sure others do as well.

    1 minute because of lag is fine. 5 minutes is anoying. 24 hours and I'm done for good. Hopefully it never comes to that because being forced to play a game that is cheating is just BS.

    It frustrates me that the game forces you to stay in a shitty match where you are getting tons of hit markers and winning gunfights, except that you are not winning the gunfights.

      I agree. I refuse to stay in a match when I'm getting 3-5 hit markers on a guy ans I get shot in the leg ONCE and insta-die.

    I got my first warning Sunday, had to quit out for reasons out of my control (dog puked). How Ironic, I raged out of dozens for lag and never got one, yet I left because of dog and I get one,,,,ummm

    If its laggin i leave, and there has been some SUPER LAGGY games ive been in and left. I get the probation, but cmon 3arc. Probation needs to go away for public matches.

     

    Think about it 3arc- if a game is laggy as heck then why would someone stay in it? Please dont punish us for leaving lag.

    whats even more dumb is i got probation after leaving the lobby at the end of a game. Why should i get probation for leaving a lobby?

      Why should we get probation at all? I leave games for 2 reasons; lag - obviously! and getting put into games of HQ where the score is 0-150. Can they really wonder why we leave games so much?

       

      I saw a suggestion from someone about having a 'don't join games in progress' check box. I think this would probably solve a lot.

       

      Anyway I agree, this whole probation system is a joke. Even more so because it's so broken right now.

    the LAG in this game is a disgrace, pretty much every game i join there is LAG. HEY TREYARCH LOOK AT MW2 THATS HOW A GAME SHOULD BE!

      you are right. IW did EXCELLENT with MW2. Thats how it should run, not this BS.

       

      I just tried to play 6 games and ONLY ONE was playable.

    If you have lag then leave the game in the normal way but if you hit dashboard just to save your stats then YOU are the reason we have probation.

    Treyarch introduced probation because gamers because sick of you children dashboarding just to save your KD, etc and now look what's happened!  We're stuck with this stupid system that's affecting everyone and it's your fault.

      I've never dashboarded, but I leave games that are laggy. Also, since I am almost always host, if I get three team kills and it cannot kick me, then then it puts me on a one minute probation before I get into the next lobby. Doesn't happen often but sh!t happens.

    Am I the only one who hasn't had a problem with probation? I back out of games just as much as I have in the past, probably about 3 or 4 per hour, and I have yet to get it once. I think you people just rage way too much and can't deal with the fact that you might *GASP* have a loss in your W/L ratio!

      I back out of a lot of games due to lag. No probation yet.  Maybe it's because I just stop playing after 15-20 minutes.  This game just isn't fun at the moment.  It is more fun to come onto the forums and vent.

    They way I look at it is this....

     

         Treyarch provides the game and service to play online so when I pay for this service by purchasing the game I expect it to work. When it doesn't work (ie. LAG, excessive host migration, severely unbalanced games*) and I want to leave that should be my choice. I paid for the service and they (Treyarch) are not providing that service to what I feel is worth what I paid. So to paraphrase, by getting probation that is just Treyarch punishing you because they did not provide the service YOU paid for.

     

    I also just want to clarify with some people that I only quit when the LAG is unplayable or I migrate host more than once.

     

     

    *A game of KC that is 78 to 15 when the previous match wasn't even close to being that bad with the same people. When this happens it is generally with large parties on the other team and them having host advantage.
