Any way of countering the Hunter killer Drone?

Posted by nicka_denton on Nov 29, 2012 5:24 PM

these things are dominating me constantly (and always seem to go for me it feels like!) anyone found anyway of countering these when they lock on apart from getting into the nearest building (which 9 times out of ten I still get  killed...) do trophy systems work?

Not sure if blind eye counters it, should check perks if you didnt :/

    Or run like hell

Blind-Eye does protect you but I've often seen them go for someone who doesn't have BE on and completely miss their target killing those around who are "protected"

    Shouldn't Blind Eye do it

Blind Eye 'should' do it...but it doesn't! I've loaded Blind Eye since release night and I still seem to catch every damned HK that's released. Really pisses me off!

I had Helis in Black Ops that still came after me even with Ghost Pro. It was the one killstreak I could never avoid

Are you running with another player.  I've always used it and I don't think I've been killed by a hunter killer yet.

And now that I've said that, I know I am going to become a hunter killer magnet

Same here, Blind Eye doesn't help. I've even ran Ghost/BE, Cold Blooded with Dead Silence and everything in the fuggin' game still comes after me. Go figure. I don't think the perks work right.

I run blind eye and flak together and never have an issue with it.  Unless I am next to someone that does not have blind eye on.

I found out if you jump when you hear that sound right before it hits you don't die.. you do take some damage though..

Yep, dolphin dive to live, preferably through a doorway.

Assuming the game's sound effects let you know it's coming in time to react.

Easy way to avoid the HK is to keep your distance from me and let me go first, I guarantee you wont die, but you'll have the joy of watching me repetitively die from every scorestreak going.

Use Flak Jacket/Blind Eye. Or when you hear the high pitched beeping try to prone behind something.

Dolphin diving next to something (ie: big rock, car, Nuketown sign, etc) always seems to help me. Flak jacket does help to some extent, assuming it doesn't fly into your head, and yes, trophy systems work. I play a LOT of objectives and my trophy system has saved me numerous times from the HK.

To the person asking about the trophy systems, they deflect 2 grenades, but I'm not 100% sure about shock charges, although I don't think I've ever been shocked or flashbanged while using one. They are supposed to block projectiles, which should be anything that is thrown by the enemy.

Throw an Emp in the air small chance it can destory it. Its funny how most people opt for shock charges then emp they can destory sentry guns. guardians, agr like nothing .

I prefer cowering in a corner like a little beeyatch until I see that one of my teammates has taken one for the team
