If you are looking for another shooter and are tired of COD I would suggest Battlefield 3 or Bad Company. In terms of game mechanics and lag issues it is a far superior game on the PS3 and the destructible environments and vehicles make it a blast on multi-player. However it's not all sunshine and rainbows. While I made the switch to BF3 right after Black Ops 2 came out and have enjoyed it a lot more than MW3, it still has plenty of issues. If you don't have a clan or group of friends you can play with than you will not enjoy it. It takes awhile to find a good server to play on where the teams are balanced and you get an enjoyable game.
All too often you wind up on a squad with a bunch of idiots who play the game like it's Call of Duty, lol, which is the problem because BF3 is much more realistic and actually requires teamwork in the objective games. You can still play TDM if you want to run and gun, but the meat of the game is the objective modes. If you get on a bad squad you're going to die a lot and not be very effective in terms of your k/d or your objective score per minute, just not going to happen. This is the case 75-80% of the time if you play with PuGs and not with a clan or friends. There is also a big learning curve if you are used to COD, there is bullet drop on all weapons and you have to use some tactics to get around maps without dying.
Now when things go right and you get a good squad where everyone plays their class and role properly the game is an absolute masterpiece that blows away any COD title ever, it's not even close. The main problem is just getting a consistent group of servers/games. What I will say though is Battlefield's "Battlelog" stat tracking system is far superior to the crapfest that is ELITE in every single way, it's not even close.
