Welcome Back Spawn Killing!~

Posted by ERROR_6_ on Nov 27, 2012 7:12 AM

so  luckly for me i normally spectate before entering a game, but  i entered one, and i saw  a party spawn killing...

they had gardians facing each spawn point.. while ADsing on 1 or two enemy spawn points.. is this what Call of duty turned into?

oh and this isnt TDM, this was CTF.. these guys finding ways to cheat the spawn system once again to pad their KD.. my girl said, " why dont you just play another game?... after seeing this, that suggestion makes alot more sense

I don't play CTF but I've experienced similar instances playing TDM on Meltdown. Granted, it doesn't sound like it was a nearly as bad as what you describe. The spawns can be predicable depending on the level of course. Example: I was playing hardpoint on Nuketown last night. Wow. Place a betty there, run into the building to the upper window and go to town! I don't know if it can be completely avoided, regardless of what they do. Unless, you add a few seconds of invincibility right when you spawn. I think we already have this against scorestreaks just not bullets from players.

Hmmm, I've had a few spawns where someone fired suicide drone and boom, it lands next to me, my controller shakes for a sec and nothing happens. Maybe I just got lucky.

I got spawn killed by lighting strikes a good 8 times and a few more times by hunter killers in one match last night.  Yes, it was a bad match.  There either is no spawn protection from scorestreaks or it's too little to notice.  On the flip side, I usually put a lighting strike hit on the enemy spawn everytime I call one in just because it almost always gets me a kill or two.  So you can use it to your advantage.

Ok. I was definitely lucky as hell if two people can attest to that!

I think that's the key to success. Relax and don't get overly emotional after each death. This keeps you focused. Very wise.....is that you Yoda?!?! Lol

Yeah, they need to at least have spawn protection against enemy killstreaks. That's the one thing I miss about MW3, I'm not sure if the red boxes go away for a few seconds after respawning...but that kind of protection still isn't as good as it was in MW3. The developers probably won't do anything about it though, and we'll keep getting spawn killed by killstreaks for another year.

Treyarch is a solid developer when it comes to patching there games, and they've been pretty outspoken about not wanting people to take advantage of game mechanics. I wouldn't just count them out so quickly man.

The games only been out a few weeks and they've already patched some issues, give them a little time. I mean I have some issues I'd like to see tweaked like footsteps and public matchmaking but I still think this is a damn good game with a developer that's doing it's best to listen to the community.

We gave Infinity Ward "alittle" time and the game still has yet to be fixed what makes you think Treyarch will fix their game?

Oh I don't know, maybe because Black Ops one was one of the best supported Call of Duties in the history of the franchise. Also the fact that they've already patched a lot of stuff, not to mention the game only came out on the 13th and it's only the 27th.

The game runs smooth. Is it perfect, no. Should we expect it to be? Not realistically. Do they seem like they're on top of it so far? I'd say so. Do some people have unrealistic expectations? ...for sure.

Fixing the lag compensation that they screwed up by tweeking and adding more things isn't unrealistic this mistake should of been fixed before Black Ops 2 even came out they need to put the network back the way it was on the launch day or take the new form of lag compensation out and go back to the old form. The spawn system needs to be fixed as well it's not like they can be sued if they copy MW2's spawn system.

They were sued by Infinity Ward (the new version, after West and Zampella left) for breaching a contract to not make any modern day or future era Call of Duties. So I actually wouldn't put it past them to sue if they thought they had a case, lol ...but I don't think the spawns are nearly as bad as you do at all.

Um I have people spawning behind me and for some odd reason almost every 10 seconds I get spawn killed cause right when I spawn someone is already aiming and shooting at me also the new Infinity Ward didn't sue anyone you are thinking of the old company and they don't have a solid case so yea. Also you can't convince me that I am wrong cause I know I'm right maybe you are just lucky or you are just lagging yourself. By the way Infinity Ward can't sue Treyarch if they decided to use the spawn system from MW2 because the fact that game was abandoned and let's not forget that Infinity Ward used the old Treyarch's spawn system from Black Ops 1. What I think is even funnier is that there was only one member of the old Infinity Ward patching MW2 and he still did way more work then the new Treyarch and Infinity Ward combined and even worse he wasn't required to patch it in the first place. That really disturbs me that Treyarch has a full team with billions of dollars and they have yet to fix their game.

I was more being a smart a$$, techinically they tried to sue Activision anyway not Treyarch directly. But I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on the spawn system.

I hope you're right, this game would be perfect if they added scorestreak protection. I think they made it like this on purpose though, if a scorestreak like dogs ignored you for five seconds they would be too easy to take advantage of. We'll see what happens, but in the mean time I'll just try to get my scorestreaks first so I can do the same to them lol.

black ops1 had no spawn protection either. numerous times i was spawn killed by chopper gunner or other kill streak.  i think they will not fix it so people will exploit their programming

I actually had a match like that today where we played CTF on hijacked and the eneimies were in our spawn with guardians. We spawned inside of the guardians beam. There was nothing we could do about it. They were on the top and bottom floors as well in our spawn. This was completely stupid, i also had eneimies spawning beside me, behind me or right in front of me.

If Treyarch had made bigger maps, it would have been easily sorted for spawns.

But nooooo! Treyarch listened to the faggit community for this game and made this game all shitty.
If the game was like WAW we wouldn't have no problems..., You just make sure we spawn about 30 seconds - 1 minute distance from the enemy. Done, dusted...how is that difficult to think of?! I have plenty more great ideas which Treyarch should have thought of....

Kind of sad a whole team didn't think to release a beta or anything!
