ELITE FOUNDER STATUS CODE REDEEM

Why in the world would activision stop use of the founder code redeem website? If you have bought a hardened edition of mw3 for $100+ dollars it should be available no matter what time of the year it was purchased.
If someone gave you a gift certificate for a spa or cleaning service would you expect it to expire if not used for a year? NO...
If you go buy a wal-mart gift certificate will it expire if not used over a year? NO...
If none of these other companies allow gift certificates to expire why should activision allow a Call of Duty Elite Founder Status card expire if the code has never been used still wrapped up inside a hardened edition of the game. People who have bought the hardened edition specifically for the founder status card are rudely awakened to find out "Your code is good to go, but we're not. Please return later." It has been this way for months.

I have to agree, I've just bought a copy of it as well, paid $110 when I could have got a normal one for around $50. Was told in chat from an Activision member they have expired under the following link (see point 25).
This is still frustrating it does not say this on the box (Misleading advertising in Austraila) so by law here, are still obliged to honour the codes or not to have sold these in Australia origionally with prior knowledge that they would expire the codes on a specific date.
Hope this helps,
Jon.
