Why is the knifing terrible in this game?

I've been playing a lot of Nuketown 2025, and i've started only knifing on that map because it's hilarious, easy, and it pisses people off. But it's dumb as hell when i'm point blank on someone, and I have to swing my knife 5 times to hit someone. Sometimes there's lunge, but most of the time the lunge will bounce me off. Can Treyarch please fix the knifing?

    The knife has been nerfed to eliminate panic knifing, which is awesome and a great move

     

    That's a great thing.

     

    Use your gun now. Ignore the knife unless the target is stationary.

     

    Nothing needs fixing with the knife - this is the way the knife should always have been.

    simple answer is 9/10 players on the forum WANTED it nerfed.

    you must have grabbed your "9/10" from thin air.

     

    A knife is a knife, it kills.  But the BO2 knife is a butter knife.

    sorry I have been on this forum for a while now so I was present for the conversations regarding this and no that is about the right ammount, almost every one wanted it nurfed you should feel lucky allot of players wanted them to go the BF3 route and make it a 2HK from the front.

    Because everyone bitched and moaned about "panic knifing".

     

    You guys do understand that Treyarch listen to their community? Too bad all they do is whine about stuff, and when they try and cater to them, they ended up whining even more.

    I like the way knifing works now, I have noticed that it acts odd from time to time but I am fairly certain that can be attributed to the lag compensation rather than the knifing mechanic itself and if I look at the issue from the perspective of knifing someone verses attempting to shoot them, well I'll take the knife anytime thanks.

     

    At least knifing them will likely result in my killing them. When I shoot at people they have a bad habbit of blinking out of existince then manifesting beside me and proceeding to stab me.

    Good. Use your gun. The knife has always been cheap. I haven't played that much so I can't say if I like it or not, but it definitely needed a big nerf.

    To be honest, I'd prefer the knife be removed from the game all together to make for better balance, but that won't ever happen.

    Well just beg the developers to put in a 20 foot long spear then. Won't be anymore absurd than the tomahawk or cross bow.
