Mate you can't just "fix/nurf" lag comp unfortunatly its a necessary part of online gaming
They can, in fact dial it back. MW2 had Lag Comp, but it wasn't as aggressive.
This game uses a different netcode designed to handle the larger number of players, this has been explained by multiple people on this forum (some of which are qualified networking guys) the code works different so it can handle more people so it can't "just be changed to how it was before".
Of course it's different, but my point was that it can be changed. The poster suggested that it can't be changed.
Yeah, they were working on it for 10 months with MW3 until they finally just said "Oh well"....Just sayin"
different Dev, BO had some connection issues at the begining too and 3arch actually tried to patch it.
TBO i haven't had any lag issues yet, its likely because of match making and where I live.
Of course it's a different developer but I have the same problem with BO, but to a lesser extent than MW3. Just don't have a lot of confidence in the whole Activision Franchise, sorry to say.

Different developer. Just sayin...
It'll be sorted out. Just like in Black Ops. Just like in MW3. Give it a few days/week and it'll be better. Petitions? lollll
It was never fixed for me in MW3. Maybe for people with average ping to host. If you read one of my previous posts, you will see what great lengths I have gone to just to play the COD series the last few years.
It was fixed for most people.
Perhaps it's an issue on your end and not with the game?
Maybe you are just destined to have bad connection luck with Call of Duty.
Honestly, I welcome any suggestions you might have. I posted a link to my setup and steps that I have taken to try ans fix my problem.
LOL MW3 was sorted out? That NEVER happpend. MW3 still broken. Expect no fix, Activision got there money. 3 straight titles that have bad hit detection should tell us all that there will be no FIX, just a verbal BAND AID. They dont care if we buy a 1st person shooter and the whole gaming community cant kill. THEY GOT THERE MONEY. BOTTOM LINE FOLKS. EXPECT NO FIX. EVER.
I don't know if this is somehitng you can really fix. Just hope it resolves itself I say.
Ya, it's not a 1 button fix. "lag comp" isn't even the correct terminology for the problems. It's more than 1 aspect of the core engine.
And, this type of petition was done for Black Ops 1 and MW3. Neither of which were ever fixed.
I'm sure its not a 1 button fix. Developers CAN fix or adjust the code though. I know petitions were done for previous COD games, but it can't hurt to try. If you don't want to sign it, don't. Judging by the number of views this is getting, and by the number of other posts, I would venture to guess that its not a small number of Gamers that are experiencing this problem.
I don't know what the correct terminology is, but Activision Tech Support is using it.
Signed.
For people that say all online games have lag compensation. I AGREE. The question is not if it has it but if it works correctly. In the case of this game as well as BO and MW3 it does not. If matchmaking cannot be fixed (which it seems to get worse not better every year) then adjusting the lag balance is the only way.
Yep, lag compensation is a good thing and is necessary if you're not gaming on a LAN, but this is really a bad implementation of it.
The sheer number of people it appears to be affecting negatively is just puzzling.
A franchise this large, that's been making pretty much the same game for so long should not have this degree of difficulty doing their jobs correctly.
If this were a new project I could understand growing pains at launch, but come on, by now they should be able to program this stuff in their sleep.
I might try taking an apple I have in my kitchen and seeing if I can plug the ethernet line from my router into it then into my xbox, maybe that will fix the issue...
Seriosuly, there's nothing left I can do, I've already tried every combination of:
Forwarding my ports
DMZ'ed my Xbox's IP
Changed the DNS servers
Tried different routers
Tried wired and wireless connections
QoS/adjusted bandwidth rates
MTU settings galore
Next step is tethering my xbox to my PC and introducing artificial latency.
I really don't want to do that though for many reasons.
I've tried all of that on multiple routers myself. Nothing seems to help. I bridged my PC and XBOX and tried a couple of different free networking programs but I couldn't get them to do what I wanted. They just wanted to slow down the connection. That's not what I want. I want to DELAY my packets by 50ms-75ms.

You can give that a try if you want, offers options to introduce latency into the connection of your choice.
I have no idea what this would mean though for EULA of xbox live/Cod though, but I don't see anything wrong with slowing down your own conection, should be viewed similarly as upgrading or downgrading with your ISP.
i wish i could like this and infinite amount of ties its like you read my mind
put it back to mw2 style where if your connection sucked its laggy n crap as the majority of connections nowadays are ok so those who need compensation against better connections are gonna have to sort it out
