The Zombie's story is way too long to go into here but here's the cliff note version.  Some scientists were working on a transporter and something went wrong.  Everything that went through the transporter turned into a zombie.  Samantha, daughter of one of the scientists, becomes trapped somehow in this Zombie world and ends up controlling them.  Ergo why you see a Teddy Bear at every mystery box location when the box isn't there.  Fast forwarding past tons of information, we get to Moon where Samantha trades bodies with Dr. Rictofen (one of the original scientists) and now Rictofen is in control of the zombies and he launches rocket to the Earth.  Ergo why everything is on fire in Transit.  Again I left out a ton of details but you can find the whole zombie story on Youtube.  It's actually pretty good.

            Easter Egg

There was a group Organization Known As Group 935, It was a group of Scientist From Germany, and a few other countries. 935 was made for the advancment of Weapons and Technology during World War II. Group 935 was lead by lead Scientist Dr.Ludvig Maxis. He Lived at "The Giant" Facility Also Known As Der Riese With His Daughter Samantha Maxis, aswell as with all the other scientist in 935. Dr.Maxis had a assistant named Dr.Edward Richtofen, who was Maxis's Right hand man in 935. The Group began collecting this "Material" From Metors and Various Area's around the world where Metors have fallen, Including in Japan,America, and ofcourse Germany. The Material they gained was known as Element 115, Also known in OUR world as Unuppetinium. They Began Testing with Element 115 and live test subjects, trying to create a "Invincible" Army For Germany to use to win World War II. Many of the Subjects died upon testing, Dr.Richtofen Had a Siberian Test Facility he went to with 3 Test Subjects that had Survived Testing, A Russian who only responded from Vodka, A man from Japan saying Jap Proverbs, and a Mexican Subject who later died. At Der Riese Dr.Maxis and Richtofen began using Element 115 to create new ways of moving around the battlefield and began creating Teleporters. Maxis Couldn't get them to work, and was working on them as a side project. As Richtofen and another Docter in 935 Dr.Shuster were testing the teleporters behind Maxis's back, as Richtofen began doing many tests behind Richtofen's back.Richtofen had became furious with Maxis as his other assistant Sophia was distracting Maxis and making him unfocused on the teleporters and other Projects. But anyways Richtofen and Shuster made the first successful teleport, as they used a small amount of Element 115 to teleport a walnut. Richtofen then Told Shuster to allow Richtofen to be the first Human Test Subject. And when Richtofen Teleported he was in a dark room, with what was "alien" hieroglyphics on the walls, aswell on this Pyramid found in the middle of the room. Richtofen went to touch it as it was pure static electricity. Soon he then teleported to a jungle, as they villagers came and praised Richtofen as a god. And he later returned in what was multiple days in Der Riese, right when Dr.Shuster was discussing trashing the teleporter project. And Richtofen looking and sounding Crazy told Shuster "There is work to be done" Maxis later found out about these keeping them a secrete. At Der Riese 935 managed to make these "Wonder" Weapons. The Ray Gun which blue prints were found at the sunrise facility, and Richtofen Created the Wunder Waffe DG-2 and the Monkey Bombs. Maxis promised Richtofen to mass produce the DG-2 but as funds were getting low, and Maxis being distracted by sophia, it didnt happen making Richtofen furious. And One Night Maxis and Richtofen were testing Maxis's Teleporter Plans and used Maxis's daughter Samantha's dog "Fluffy" and after the teleport the dog came out burned, with flesh coming out of its sides and on fire.  Samantha walked in and began yelling at her father, she ran up to fluffy, but Maxis ran up and grabed her. Little did they know Richtofen had this planned. As he went and closed the doors on the teleporter leaving Maxis,Sam, and the Hell Hound. They screamed for help, as Richtofen sat there laughing and teleported them.  Secretly a group of 935 Scientist along with Richtofen were working at the MPD(pyramid) on the Moon, and was a group known as the illuminati. They had built Griffin Station, but as the events with the hellhound happened in Der Riese, Samantha teleported to Griffin Station, and ran inside of the Pyramid, isolating herself, and being locked inside. Shuster called Richtofen telling him the events, and later Maxis appeared on Moon, as he told samantha to "Kill Them All" as they then shot Dr.Maxis. Samantha then became angry and began using the undead to go after the remains of 935.Richtofen then retreated with his 2 living test subjects to Shi No Numa, aswell as a American Test Subject they retrieved from Verruckt, when they found and captured Harvey Yenna, and Peter McCaine.  After They Retrived the Blue Prints to the Wunder Waffe and other tech they then retreated and tried to take back over the Group 935 Facility Der Riese. They then went to use the teleporter powering it by the Wunder Waffe, but the Waffe overloaded and broke, and the teleporter then began time travel instead of teleportation. And they were at a unknown time in a abandoned German Theater that 935 was gonna use to show off the teleporter.  They used the teleporter to go to Russia. Where they found Dr.Gersh who was being tortured by Samantha. They there had the tech they recived from Kino the Thunder Gun, aswell as new tech from Ascension the Gersh Device. After that they built a teleporter in Ascension then going into a storage room in a 935 Ship that was shipping teleporters.(Call of The Dead) and where Richtofen was given the Vrill Device or the Golden Rod. And as the survivors helped them reboot the teleporter they teleported to Shangri La. A Area that Richtofen was known to, and had his name as he was the villagers "god"  They worked to get a 115 Metor, and at this time the brainwashing was wearing off on Takeo. As they then went to Area 51 to teleport to Griffin Station. Where Richtofen used all the tech he recived from the past areas to complete his plan he started when he found the Pyramid. He then switched bodies with Samantha putting Richtofen in control, and then Dr.Maxis's spirit was in the aether, and blew nukes/rockets up in the earth.

Where I think the storyline will go is, with Richtofen's side of the "Tower of Babble" EE on TranZit I think he is trying to take advantage of the survivors to get him more Power, and with Maxis's side, he is telling them all what he has done, trying to keep them from helping Richtofen.

Quick question: How/when did the world fall to zombie apocalypse in the first place? Obviously every place the group goes is overrun with them, why?

If they ever end this season of zombies ( i think it's still in the same one cuz of richtofen and maxis) they should make a movie, it'd be long as hell, but great.

how could they make a movie? now i'd love to see that happen but a big chunck of the whole thing is just random zombie slaying. If you were to do the actual story stuff, you could do it in like 30 minutes give or take some. It'd get repetetive with just more and more just killing zombies.

P.S. still waiting on that Halo movie! Lol

Well the original Characters all met because Rictofen had his men kidnap Takeo, Nikoli, and Tank he did experiments on those three and they lost there memory(also made Tank believe he a action hero badass, Nikoli is a depressed drunk and gets depressed when he not drinking, and makes takeo(from Shi No Numa-Kino der toten) only say japanese proverbs, but the three are slowly remembering and Takeo the only one that remembers everything starting at Kino der toten and by Moon the other 2 (Tank and Nikoli) start remembering you can hear it in there dialogs when you playing Moon that they goin get revenge on Rictofen for what he done to them.... thats pretty much there story oh how they all met

Hey guys. He just wants to know what happens in Black Ops II story line. Here is a post I gave to anger guy to help him with the same dilemma.

    We play zombies.

There is a huge map called TranZit.

Now this is where the problem begins. You 'ought to know that Richtofen took over Samantha's body to take control of the zombies. And Maxis, knowing this would happen, blew the zombies up, attempting to destroy the zombies on Earth. Unfortunately, all the zombies aren't gone O.K.? So when you first play zombies, you are four new characters. Four "random" survivors who's names are Misty, Samuel, Russ, and Marlton. Now here's where we begin. Maxis and Richtofen both have plans which us zombie fans have no idea of. You just have to pick a side to "follow" to go on. To "pick" Maxis's side, you have to turn of the power because he can only talk to you through electronics. This is confusing though because we have no idea how he is talking to us because we all thought he died in the one Der Reise radio message. And we are all wondering how he is communicating to us if he is dead. If you follow Maxis, he wants you to power a tower in the middle of the cornfield to do something. We don't know what he's doing. In the mean time, he is getting another group of survivors to do it in a different location known as Jack Ass Flats. Numerous I know. Jack Ass Flats is located close to Nuketown. Again, we have no idea WHY these towers need to be powered up. YET. Probably in a future DLC we will know. Anyway's, after powering the spires, he say's farewell and leave. Although his farewell is in the ripped audio for TranZit, no one has been able to obtain it in gameplay because no one know's what to do next in the Easter Egg. The only information Maxis gives about what he is doing is that he will "save mankind". That's if you pick Maxis's side. And now for Richtofen's. Richtofen requires you to turn the power on and keep it on. Richtofen will then talk to the player known as Samuel, telling him what to do, but not why. It is not known yet WHY only Samuel can hear Richtofen, but again, that information will most likely be given in the next DLC. Richtofen basically makes you do absolutely random tasks which don't fit together. But once you complete the Easter Egg, he basically say's that we did it and that "the fleas will roam the Earth...", which sounds nice until he say's "...for me to play with". It all about which side you pick. It's probably confusing because TranZit doesn't have all the information. And there are so many questions in TranZit like, at the bus depot, there is blood splatter at the bottom part of the B in "Stop Bus". (Bus Stop). Making it look like "Stop Rus", or Russman. Stop him from what? And what is the NavCard used for. And what are the denizens and where did they come from. It hurt's my head to think about it. Look's like we'll just have to wait for a DLC. : D.

only Samuel can here Richotfen because, somehow Samuel ate the flesh of one of Richotfen's zombies. Samuel Never told Misty, Marlton, or Russ about it. I'm not sure why he ate it or why he hasn't told anybody

    TRUE STORY WITH EVERY DETAILS!

Dr. Ludvig Maxis and his scientist team, Group 935, were tasked with creating an army of super soldiers and new technology for the government project christened "Der Riese" or "The Giant". In his experiments, Maxis used Element 115 to create the zombies. The zombies, however, couldn't be controlled and would always be killed when they went berserk.

While this was going on, Dr. Edward Richtofen was testing 115 on living test subjects to create his super soldiers at a Siberian facility. In his experiments, Richtofen used Takeo Masaki, Nikolai Belinski, and an unknown Mexican. When Richtofen accidentally killed the Mexican, he replaced him with Tank Dempsey. Dempsey had recently been captured when he went to spy on the asylum to rescue Dr. Peter McCain, an OSS spy sent to infiltrate Group 935. After being captured, a Marine Recon team was sent in after him to the abandoned asylum. Richtofen, however, already suspected Peter McCain (along with Harvey Yena), and the team was killed. The testing affected each of the subjects' minds, making Dempsey extremely aggressive, quieting Takeo into only reciting Japanese proverbs, and making Nikolai functionless without vodka. It also had the side effect of erasing their recent memories, making them forget how Richtofen captured them and what he did to them.

Maxis also invented 115-powered teleporters, but they would always destroy anything sent through them. All of these experiments were done with his assistant, Dr. Richtofen. Without Maxis, Richtofen and Schuster would complete the first successful teleportation with a walnut using a very small amount of 115. When Maxis found out about this, he criticized Richtofen for not working on his project and that teleporting a walnut wasn't a big deal. Maxis then told Richtofen that he was going to make a deal with the Nazi party for money and equipment in exchange for weapons. These new weapons Group 935 created were also powered by 115. Maxis created the Ray Gun based on plans received from Shi No Numa. Richtofen created the Monkey Bomb and Wunderwaffe DG-2 from 115. Maxis promised to mass-produce the DG-2 to his superiors, but his growing infatuation with Sophia slowed his progress and infuriated Richtofen, who was secretly plotting to overthrow him and take control of Group 935. Richtofen continued his teleporter tests with Schuster behind Maxis' back. Richtofen was the first human test subject and was first sent to the M.P.D., which he believed to be of alien origin. When he touched it, he felt static and started hearing whispering. He was then teleported to a jungle. Dr. Scheuster got worried and planned to scrap the teleporter when Richtofen had been gone for a few days, but he returned as Schuster was talking about it and told him that there was work to be done. Richtofen sounded much crazier and Scheuster noticed this change.

Two Group 935 scientists, Dr. Groph and Dr. Schuster, were stationed at the Moon base and were trying to figure out how to work the M.P.D.. When Schuster killed a rat, its soul was absorbed by a glass vial protruding from the machine. The pair then proceeded to kill many people until the device was filled with souls. The bodies were buried on the moon, leaving them open to zombification. When they finished, they contacted Richtofen who told them that he was going finally going to get rid of the Maxises, indicating that the two scientists were aware of his scheme.

Unbeknownst to Maxis, Richtofen had already mastered teleportation while Maxis was still trying to master it. Maxis was getting frustrated that he could not send a subject to the mainframe Maxis and then used his daughter Samantha's dog, Fluffy, as a teleporter test subject but once again failed. The dog was teleported, but instead of being destroyed like past test subjects, she was zombified (the first hellhound). When Samantha came running in and started questioning her dad about what happened to her dog, Maxis tried to stop her and get out of the room. Richtofen then followed through with his previously-planned betrayal by locking Maxis and his daughter in the room with the hellhound, he then activated the teleporter which he then thought killed Samantha and Maxis.

Little did Richtofen know that Maxis' teleporter actually worked and sent Samantha to the Moon base. In her fear, she ran into the M.P.D. and became the one to control the zombies. When Richtofen was informed of what had occurred he warned the pair of scientists about the hellhound and then told them to find a way to get Maxis. When Maxis was found, they let him approach his daughter to calm her down. After apologizing for his actions, Maxis told Samantha to kill all of the Group 935 members for betraying him and was subsequently shot. Samantha then proceeded to fulfill her father's request by unleashing the zombies.

Richtofen retreated with his super-soldiers to Shi No Numa to think things through. When the zombies attacked Richtofen he realized that Samantha will stop at nothing to seek revenge. Richtofen planed to recover all of the equipment to take control of the zombies. Richtofen then took the group to Der Riese, which had been abandoned since the zombie takeover. The group used the Wunderwaffe DG-2's 115 to overcharge the Teleporter, making it capable of time travel. Richtofen was apparently unaware of this possibility until he tried it. He seemed unconcerned that he and his partners have been teleported to an abandoned theater in Germany in an unknown year. Although he didn't know what year it was, Richtofen knew about the theater as it was the place Maxis would unveil the Teleporter to the German high command. Since Maxis was killed, the theater was abandoned.

Sometime prior the characters' arrival at the Soviet Cosmodrome, Yuri Kravcheski was transferred to work on sending monkeys into space, much to his dismay. His transfer was caused by his superior, Gersch, who he holds a grudge against. As the radio messages progress, Yuri notices the teddy bear and the Matryoshka Dolls and wonders how a child could be let into the station. A child then slowly drives Yuri insane. Yuri, in his state of insanity, finishes the Gersch Device and has Gersch activate it, letting in the zombies and trapping Gersch. Yuri soon realizes his mistake and is heard screaming at the end of the last recording.

After the events of Kino der Toten, the main characters somehow reach an abandoned Soviet Cosmodrome. The characters then hear Gersch, who tells them that the mechanism must be repaired. He is referring to the Kassimir Mechanism, which must be repaired by completing different tasks. After all of the tasks are completed and the mechanism is repaired, Gersch is freed.

While the events of Ascension are occurring in Russia, the events of "Five" are also unfolding in the Pentagon. A piece of Intel reveals that all Wunderwaffe materials were to be moved to American-controlled installations. As a mainframe is visible behind one of the windows in "Five", it is apparent that it was moved there as per this order. While John F. Kennedy, Robert McNamara, Fidel Castro, and Richard Nixon are negotiating, zombies break into the Pentagon with only the four of them left to fight them. While fighting, they call Dempsey, Takeo, Nikolai, and Richtofen using three red telephones spread across the Pentagon. Their calls show that they're running out of ammo and will soon be defeated.

As they continue fighting, the three super-soldier test subjects slowly regain their memories. Takeo is the first to remember, and remarks to himself that some day when the group is finished fighting zombies Richtofen will get what he deserves. He also shows his observations of the other two. He believes Nikolai drinks vodka because he wishes to forget the past and can't function when he remembers it, perhaps meaning Nikolai is beyond hope. Tank, on the other hand, is slowly making progress, as he remembers that he'd seen Richtofen before the fight at Shi No Numa. Takeo notes his shifting memories and believes Tank is finally remembering what Richtofen did to him.

Sometime in the present, George A. Romero stumbled upon Group 935's research while making a WWII film. He and the cast took a ship out to an abandoned lab in Siberia. After he and the ship's crew were zombified, only the cast, made up of Sarah Michelle Gellar, Robert Englund, Danny Trejo, and Michael Rooker, remained. This set the stage for Call of the Dead. After the Kassimir Mechanism was completed in Ascension, it overloaded the teleporter and sent the original characters to a Group 935 facility in Siberia, where they were trapped behind a locked door. The celebrities then proceeded to help them escape to Paradise. Richtofen then asked the celebrities to help him obtain the Golden Rod, which they did. Richtofen thanks the group by giving them the DG-2 to help them fight the zombies. In reality, the group could've escaped after the security system was disabled. It is unknown what became of the celebrities after helping the group escape.

Shangri-La, however, does not live up to its name, as its inhabitants have all been zombified before the group's arrival. Richtofen now states that this the last step to controlling the world before he is teleported there. The temple houses a mining facility filled with Element 115, explaining the inhabitants' zombification.

Prior to the group's arrival to Shangri-La, two explorers, Brock and Gary went on an expedition to prove their theories on Argatha. Brock later figures out that the temple wasn't built by an ancient civilization, but by people in the modern era interpreting it. After investigating the temple, the pair accidentally activated the temple's time travel and died in the resulting Zombie attack. The group travels back in time and helps the pair survive. The pair's changing fate is illustrated by the radio that changes message and location as the group helps them. When the group finally create the Focusing Stone, it lands on an altar with Richtofen's name on it, meaning the temple was in fact another Group 935 facility and explaining Richtofen's knowledge of its location. The two explorers are then sent back to the moment they discovered the temple, indicating that they're stuck in a never-ending loop.

Now in possession of both the Golden Rod and the Focusing Stone, Richtofen believes he can now control the zombies. The group then travels to Area 51 so they can get to the moon via a teleporter to a top-secret Moon facility named Griffin Station. When the group reaches Area 51, it is already overrun. Due to the Element 115 on the moon, astronauts and scientists sent there have been zombified before the group's arrival. The people killed by Groph and Schuster contributed even more to the zombie horde.

Richtofen then has the group complete the M.P.D.. When the device is completed, it opens up to reveal Samantha Maxis suspended in the air. As it turns out, the device acts like a prison and keeps her cryogenically frozen so she can be used to control the zombies. Richtofen goes to a terminal to power up the Golden Rod (or V Device) and the Focusing Stone, which he fuses together. However, he encounters Dr. Maxis inside the terminal, who tries to stop him. Richtofen switches souls with Samantha to gain control of the zombies. Richtofen finally thinks everything has gone his way, until Takeo, Tank, and Nikolai decide to stop him. Dr. Maxis, sensing Richtofen's betrayal, prepared a backup plan in case Richtofen got this far. The group then fires the missiles located on the Moon, which destroys the Earth's atmosphere. Richtofen is now only in control of the zombies on the moon, greatly lessening the damage he could cause.

So, what I get from the Black Ops 2 story so far is that you're helping either Maxis or Richtofen get stronger while giving a bit of background. The towers on tranzit and die rise help to make either Richtofen stronger or Maxis rebel against Richtofen most likely. We won't know until later. I know Richtofen does mention at the end of tower of babel that you're helping him rebuild the earth again so he can destroy it again, so that's a possibility. Maxis is a wild card after his dialogue changes in Moon. He might be a good guy trying to stop Richtofen, or just trying to get his own power from this whole thing. We can probably expect the next couple of maps to power up towers for them until the last DLC, where a lot of stuff will go down. P.s: Maxis is stuck in the Aether after he teleported, which is some weird dimension where richtofen controls the zombies, the Gersch device sends things to, and I think where souls/energy sources typically used go from killing the zombies.

As for the new characters, they're not that important. No connection, just doing their bidding. Stuhlinger -- the fat, crazy German guy -- is the only special case because he can hear Richtofen and the same voices that still are driving Richtofen crazy now. I know this because in Moon radios Richtofen was normal until he teleported somewhere random and his next message made him sound like the crazy, evil guy he is today. I don't think Richtofen is or started off as a bad guy, but became that way from these weird voices in his head. Stuhlinger's groans he hears in his head in Die rise match richtofen's, because in the cut scene they both repeat each other in Stu's head. These voices mention mending a rift in some instances, so that might be what the towers are for. Stuhlinger isn't connected, though, and I think he can only hear them because his fat, hungry ass ate human flesh once according to the die rise opening cutscene. Pay close attention to Stuhlinger!!!

Another interesting side-story develops in radios. A TV in the house on tranzit farm and any TV on die rise suggest this. The Tranzit ones show maxis and richtofen trying to make others do their bidding -- tower of babble -- but inevitably failing until these 4 characters come along. These people are probably the citizens of Town and other nearby areas on Tranzit. They eventually get torn apart as a society, since some side with Maxis and others with Richtofen. Die Rise seems to develop their story or show other societies crumbling. I think either Nuketown or areas near Area 51 -- where you teleport in Moon -- are important here, since they seem to mention areas near there. They keep getting strange symptoms from their surroundings without turning into zombies. One guy notably labels short term memory loss, paranoia, and other stuff, then repeats short- term memory loss and mentions how he killed his crew "for safety". So he and others are suffering, too. A strange rebellion or cult might be forming too, but idk. They speak in riddles and are proud that they are flesh, look it up on youtube. I feel these radio messages give a more real-world feel to the apocalypse, but might tie in somehow! Pay attention to these as new maps come.

Lastly, i wanted to discuss vril. It's an energy source used to power the MPD (pyramid in moon), and seems to involve the voices or possible aliens controlling Richtofen and talking to Stu. Vril is only really mentioned in Call of the Dead with its regenerative powers (VR-11 = Vril), and in the moon loading screen/ easter egg with the orb you push into the pyramid and the golden rod. The similar eggs are also in the Die rise easter egg again, as you power up the tower the balls in the dragon's mouths and lion's paws greatly resemble the one we saw in moon. It seems like this stuff might play a much greater role later, and might be what Maxis or Richtofen are trying to obtain from such towers! Only time will tell, thogh.

I hope that helps! Good luck, and let's figure this out as a community lol.
