So I go to EB Games on my way to work yesterday and I buy the game knowing full well that I could have downloaded it via Steam Monday night. I read about the disk 2 issue being Mass Effect 2. I open the box, therefore voiding my ability to return it to EB Games and sure enough I have the issue. So i go home and download the game which I could have done a day earlier. So now I have a set of disks that are not even good as set of coasters.
So I guess what I’m asking is what is the game plan to address this issue? As this is clearly not a end user issue but your issue
all you bought was a cd key
thats all that matters
Ya, I guess the point is that Activision should not be sending out Mass Effect 2 disks when someone buys a COD-BOP2 or at lest they should be sending out both Mass Effect 2 disks and the key so at lest I can have a complete set of some game.
I agree with you its not pleasant. but at least your dealing with pc. imagine if this would have been a console problem
. wtf.... mass effect.... Nooooo
are you saying that you got a mass effect 2 cd in your black ops 2 box?
Correct...Disk 2 is actually mass effect 2 disk 1. So you cannot install either one of them.. I would have perfered to install black ops 2 but at this point either would have been fine as right now all I have are coasters
i'd love to beleive you, but i cant.
Dont believe me...see for your self..check out the following...same thing with me

All you have to do is snap a photo of yourself holding the offending Disc 2, with both yourself and your misprinted disc fully visible. Send the photo over to community @ bioware.com and the developer will sling a code back your way. To BioWare, all I can really say is: well played, y'all. Well played.

Hey guys,
We sincerely apologize for the issue that some of you are having with installing Call of Duty Black Ops II on your PC because of you received a copy of Mass Effect 2 instead of Disk 2 of Call of Duty Black Ops II. Rest assured that are teams are investigating trying to find out what cause this to happen.
We do need some of your help in order to find out what's going on. If purchased Call of Duty Black Ops II and you did receive a copy of Mass Effect 2 with your physical copy of the game, let us know where you purchased the game from. When you purchased the game and if you can provide a city and state to where you purchased the game from. This will help us go a long way to find out what's going on.
We know that you want to play the game as soon as possible and luckily you can. First, you would need to make sure to have a Steam account. If you have not yet made a Steam account, visit http://store.steampowered.com/about/ to download the app and create an account. Once you've created an account, you will nee to use the product key that you were provided in your game case in order to activate the product on Steam. You can find the instructions here https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5414-TFBN-1352
Please follow these instructions to activate a new retail purchase on Steam:
Once again, we sincerly apologize for the issue but we are investigating it to the fullest extent. If we get any new updates, we'll make sure to post it here and also on our support site at support.activision.com. We thank you for understanding and if you need further help regarding this issue, feel free to update this thread. ^MM
Thanks
Seen that and that is what I did.. The larger point is what are they going to do about it as I purchased something I cannot use and did not want.
It is like buying a Sony TV and finding out it is actually a Panasonic microwave inside.
you really should send a picture to community@bioware.com to get your free code for mass effect trilogy! actually its a bad luck for a good one.
That is an idea...
Bump..as I would like a answer!
I still have yet to get a fix for this even though I have a ticket opened and they haven't responded for about 2 weeks! I want the correct 2nd disk for this please!
