How is the lag? Any Multi-player issues?

Posted by DaShuk2381 on Nov 11, 2012 1:23 PM

I'm surprised all I see so far are questions about camo and other nonsense. What I and I'm sure most people want to know is how is the overall multi-player experience? Is the lag comp still there? Does this game lag as bad as MW3? Is multi-player an absolute cluster **** like MW3?

It's a question on my mind as well, but I assume that any answer pre release has to be taken with a pinch of salt, until there are millions online we won't really know what's what..

The lag has been taken away and it will be the best connection since MW2. Blackops 2 will now run on FPS rather than location. This will allow for games to be played with absolutely no lag at all. The multiplayer experience is great with the new scorestreaks system. This allows for more objective based gameplay. The game will not have weapons like the "overpowered" AK74U and the Famas. New and improved attachments are now added to the game. Attachments can only affect your gun rather than perks. Better graphics and maps will be implemented and will make the game more enjoyable.

    Ps. Thanks for 100th post.

You lost me at "The lag has been taken away"

All online FPS have lag, it's a fact of life. Unless of course everyone is playing in the same location..

Its true. just wait untill the game comes out. It most likely won't have perfect connection but it will be better than any other cod

I have the game since yesterday but through ISP problems I was able to play only some hours ago. Connection wise is the game better than BO but it seems that good connections still get crippled.

Your pretty much regurgitating facts we already know with a bunch of other nonsense like there is no lag. There will always be lag the only difference we can hope for is that they managed to reduce it from MW3.

This guy is clueless. Matchmaking by FPS doesn't even make sense. That isn't even a real thing.

That's like me saying, "Matchmaking will now run on PEPPERONI PIZZA rather than location..."

That is not true. In Vahns livesteam on Nuketown 2025 he explained alot about how the spawns will work. There is an actual distance thing where you can't spawn a certain distance between another player. There are also things called dead spawns. If a player is spawn killed for the next I think 3 minutes nobody will spawn in that same area.

I believe what he said was something more along the lines of, if you die 3 seconds after spawing (could be longer) the game will send the spawn point and it will be fixed. So there should be no "spawn killing".

Good servers - a little lag.

Bad servers - a lot of lag.

Qualifier - it's pre-release. Can't make any judgments about lag right now because there are thousands of people playing. Come Tuesday, there will be hundreds of thousands/millions of poeple playing. Big difference.

Well, since no one has been online to play any MP, I really doubt your going to get any str8 answers here buddy.  Just wait until tonight, then someone will be on here bitching about lag, not even giving the game the chance to even out.

Give the game 2-3 weeks after it's release day.  IF the game doesn't function or is giving me lag/matchmaking issues...I don't even know what I'd do, but I'd be pissed to say the least.

You beat me to it.  Any response at this point is totally 100% irrelevant.

When hundreds of thousands of people are online and you have a greater chance of being matched to more players that have a half decent connection to you, this question can be answered.

      Patience...

I have been online & played MP and there is lag but I'm putting that down, completely, to the servers still being brought online.

Hopefully, this will dissappear when the game goes "live"
