It seems like this past week I have had the dreaded "Audio EMP" happen EVERYDAY that I play. Never know when it will strike but it has happened everyday. One of the times it happened it lasted pretty long and then it just kept making a thumping/ pulsating sound out of the speakers. I didn't want to leave the match as I was doing rather well so I muted the game. I was wearing a communicator and that never gets hit, only the game sound is affected.
Anyone else?
I can say I haven't had this happen to me in a long time - I thought perhaps they had figured out what caused it.
I think I may have hearing damage from this (I wear a headset) - so I feel your pain.
I use turtle beaches and im suffering Tinnitus and i reckon its because of this Audio EMP
It happened to me a couple of days ago. If this messes up my tv, someone is getting sued.
I hear that! I had contacted Activision CS when it first happened last Winter and they said they were considering reimbursement and would get back to people on a case by case basis. Of course nothing was ever done about it. There have been several forum members that stated their speakers blew out because of it.
I am sure that IF somebody actually filed a lawsuit then something would be done....

This is a thread i started a few days ago. This is about all you can do. Without spending money.
I just ordered a set of TB p11's and I may only use them for BOPS/ BOPS2 because I sure don't want that explosion of sound that close to my ears.
Sstang, it hadn't happened in a long time either but it has happened every day now.
I played Fri night, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon and never had it happen.
You can usually hear it starting to happen and rip the headset off fast - or quickly turn down game volume.
I can see how it could damge your tv speakers for sure if you have the game up loud at all.
I've gotten in since the game came out. Not very often, and it never happens for any particular reason. It's annoying, but hasn't ruined my tritons yet
But I am sure it really jacks with your eardrums!
To be honest not for a while, if I really concentrate I can still hear it
It only happened about 7 or 8 times but each time I feared for my TV speakers ![]()
It hadn't happened to me probably for the past couple of months up until last weekend. Aaaahhh how nice it is for your surround sound to start screeching like a banshee at 4AM in the morning when everybody else is asleep...
Vlaxos, I hear THAT! .....literally...... Wife was asleep on Friday night and she came out of the room pissed off! She had to be at work early in the AM and was not thrilled. Thing is I did not have the volume up that high but it raised up during the EMP.
I have the Turtle Beach PX21 & PX5 and used to have this issue a lot (several times a day) on both headsets with MW3. I resolved the issue by ensuring that none of the in game audio settings (i.e. music, voice and sound effects) are maxed out. It has been a while, but I believe that I lowered my voice and music settings to almost the lowest settings and have the sound effects about mid level. I made these changes shortly after the release of MW3. Since this I have only experienced this Audio EMP twice.
NOTE: I normally play with everything coming from the headset. I always mute the sound system to prevent feedback.
Wildcat, I wish that would resolve the issue but I have my settings like yours already and I still get it. But like I stated earlier, it hadn't happened in a few months then all of sudden BANG, a lot.
Here is what is odd. At one point we were using 3 ps3's in my house, all of us were playing mw3, all of us were on the same router, AND all of us were in the same party, same map, etc. and my console was the only one that got hit.
it has happened to me several times this week, but it normally only last 10-15 seconds or so, Sometimes other members of my party will have it to happen at the sametime, but others dont
Happened to me last week. It happenes once in a while.
I get em about once a week, last time was yesterday.
it's weird but restarting your headphones works for me
I seldom use headphones, when I do they're plugged into my TV, not my PS3.
I am still getting the occasional one. I think I had one last week. Atleast it isn't as bad as it was in January through March when it was happening on a daily basis.
not had this for a long time, it used to scare the crap outta me when it happened and i had my headphones on!
