What are the differences between throwing knives and tomahawks?

Do they have different physics? Does one have longer range? Is there no difference?
Tomahawks drop off faster than throwing knives, but this can be a plus because it makes them easier to toss over cover that someone is behind.
I'm not familiar with Tomahawks...how do you get them?
Tomahawks are in Black Ops and also gonna be in Black Ops 2.
Except in Black Ops 2 they're gonna be called "Combat Axes."
Cool, thanks CylonNumber6!
Physics. Tomahawks are a bit "heavier"? They seem to keep their flight longer than throwing knives, and dont need as much of an arch to compensate for longer distances. They are also bouncy bouncy, and you can bankshot without worry of it getting stuck into a surface.
I assume you're talking about COD and not in the realm of life.
The tomahawk in Black Ops was a 1000 times more fun than that sh_t knife in MW3. The T-Hawk is heavier and bulkier. So why is it that MW3 throwing knife falls rapidly after 5ft? That's a question that has no answer.
Thanks guys all these answers were great. I never got into tomahawks much in BO but I didn't really like the multiplayer as much as MW3 (suprised). But I might be using them in BO2 exclusively if they feel good using them. They sure do look awesome.
The other thing to note, and please guys, correct me if I am wrong, but it seemed that the Tomahawks tended to bounce a bit more on impact, so you could get some interesting bank shots with them. The knives seem to just go flat if they miss their targets.
I personally think Tomahawk kills were just more satisfying... that thunk when it made contact...
