Lag-swtiching? Not in the traditional sense.

Hey guys. Been a while since I've been on these forums, and even longer since a post. 2-3 months, I think? At work right now - extremely bored - and figured I'd see if the forums ever stopped complaining. Of course not.
For anyone who has read any topics I've started before, I've cheated a lot in this CoD installment. Never a hack, but just in-game usage of opportunity. This topic is no different...
I've been reading posts for about 15 minutes now, and a large number of recent ones are about Lag switchers. Check out my vid; damn these lag switchers; QQ, etc. I've also read that everyone is apparently under the impression you cannot lag switch in this game, due to a hot-fix of some sort shortly after release. Of course, it's always hard to tell what is happening regarding due to lag spikes thanks to poor connectional quality.
Here is your answer - You can lag switch. I've done this often, mainly in objective-based game modes and FFA. Want to know how? You don't even have to have a single friend in the world to do it. Have a large number of messages in your inbox (For me it was 2700+ before it started working, but optimum was ~3500). In-game, hit the start button, push triangle to access your friends list and , viola, you have lagged the entire lobby for approximately 3-5 seconds, depending on how many messages you have. You, on the other have not lagged one bit, save for the amount of time it takes for you to hit two buttons on your controller. You can use this to run amok and wreak havoc and then listen to the other players cry.
Two things, btw. You must be host. I know when I'm host during say... Search and Destroy. When a round is over, and it shows the score, there is no sound for me. Thing number two, it is undetectable during any type of recording as to who is doing it. I say this because everyone will maintain the same connection (3, 4 bars, what have you) even though the screen may or may not show the lag itself. Traditionally, lag-switchers are an easy find, as everyone drops to a 1-bar connection while the host/lagger is still sitting on a 4-bar.
So there you have it, how to lag-switch a game that mythically is unlag-switchable. I hope you enjoy. Patch/complain all you want, I'll be playing BO2.
TL;DR - Have host, ~3000 inbox messages, hit start+Triangle, lag insues.
What kind of a person has over 3500 messages in their inbox. I don't think i have recieved 3500 messages since I bought the PS3 back in 2006.
Feeding the cow I see.
When 12 year olds thinks it's hilarious to talk a bunch of trash after getting destroyed, back out and spam invites... I don't know, man. Most games have invites that delete themselves. Just sayin'.
Sounds a bit...well...kinda stupid... You must be really bored at work.
Off work now. Good night everyone. Have fun debating if anyone is awake and on here to read this post.
Bumping so everyone in the day time can see this.
See what? How to induce lag with an absurd amount of messages that no normal person would have in their inbox, in an effort to just have some advantage in the game that only works when you are host, which for most people is a very low percentage?
Well... Yes. That, and to prove everyone wrong, that this game still does, and always will, have issues.
I'll be off, now. Don't care if this thread dies or thrives, just getting that knowledge out to either take advantage or get a patch.
Good day.
What game doesn't have issues, especially an online FPS, as large as this?
dont you find cheating like this a bit cheap and boring? must take what little fun left in the game, out of it...?
Of course, but people who find a need to do such things, find nothing wrong with it, like a normal person would.
im aware now also that lag switches do exist, a colleague of mine used to always go on about it and i never believed them, went theirs after work and seen first hand that this really does exist! and it makes me think that maybe some of those times ive criticised the lag on the game, that maybe there was more of an element of foul play envolved
In a public match on PS3?
yes it was live online! i genuinly didnt think you could do this, but i have seen it now.
on ps3 too
Got any proof?
People misunderstand the hot fix. It doesn't make the game unlagswitchable, it just forces a host migration if the lag and connection gets to be too messy. In past titles, the only way to force a host migration was if the host left, in MW3 this isn't the case. Basically if the host the game chose stops meeting certain perameters for connection mid game, the host switches.
As far as your being proud of cheating, its kinda pathetic.
not got any vids of him, but he told me where to get the software he uses, its a program you can download.. i wont post it on here as i dont wanna get a forum ban, i'll pm you tho sennalike, and then you can see for yourself, and maybe verify it for others.
Sorry bud, but, as I suspected that only works on the XBox, not the PS3.
i have seen it working on ps3 online in public match.
it is real.
Oh wow, just wow, another topic on how to achieve a better connection by lagging everyone else....
OP, we don't need this here. The game play is hit or miss, and I assume that is for everyone. We have good games where it seems there is no lag at all, and horrible games that are barely playable because of the amount of lag. Why cause more issues??
Your "suggestion" is just pathetic. This game title is almost non-existent (some would say already dead), so really it does no good to anybody. How in the hell do you get that many messages anyway?? You'd have to spam yourself from another account or have a friend spam you, which is just a big waste of time.
Play the game, if it lags, who cares?? If it doesn't, yay for you.
Isn't that something that can be done on BO zombies too?
My brother was showing me something like that while he was playing with his friends but he didn't have 10 million messages.
I would try it to confirm but I delete all my messages as they come.
