Why isn't the lag monster taken out back and shot?

Multiplayer games have been out some 15 years. So it's not a new problem. Hundreds if not thousands of games have done multiplayer correctly. So it's a solved problem. MW2 works fine, so the CoD folks know how to do it.
After almost a year and over a dozen patches, MW3 is still a steaming pile of shiat. Why? What's the real, underlying issue for why the lag monster hasn't been beaten to death?
Because the amount of people that play it, how many people are online at any one time it must be in the high hundreds of thousand if not millions
MW3 has been sitting a comfortable 90k-150k for the past month now. It has nothing to do with the number of people playing but who's being paired with who and the incredibly high tolerance for high ping between the host and players

Says the troll that just commented on every thread
You just did not call me a troll? The atrocity of two trolls calling each other trolls.! Can batman make an appearance!
Batmans fake just like you.
BTW...
HAHA... "G" called you a troll. well with "G" stats on here and his word being classified as great and honorable that make you a TROLL.
Troll else where.. TROLL!
From what I understand other current Multiplayer games also suffer from the lag monster. I'd imagine that something in the complexity of the game as it has developed post MW2 has caused this monster to grow. Whether or not the developers have discovered the cause or not is unknown. The cause may very well be hardcoded into the game and these patches may just be their best efforts to get around the hardcoding. Since there is a limit to how much you can change an already existing game, we may not see massive improvement until the next release.
I think the developers just have no clue as to what they are doing. Nearly 2 dozen patches and it gets worse with each one. Last night the disk went flying into the wall!! Screw this game!! It's done... All over.. Worst online game ever made. Ponder that Dev's, you earned it!
B ops2 won't be any better than mw3 , I found B ops worse than mw3 at times other people may have found it the other way , i also have been playing bf3 over the last couple of weeks and for me not once have had any problems with lag
I'm not buying it's a technical issue, I think it's political. Somebody is heavily invested in "lag compensation", and is high up enough that they can require it be in.
Here's a suggestion: Remove "lag compensation" completely. Do a release. Let us, the users, see how it works. Because frankly, not only have I never heard of any other games doing lag compensation, I''ve also never played a game so suffering from lag.
Not to mention, the whole concept of "reduce everybody to the worse player" just sounds wrong on so many levels. Should I disable my legs to be at the level of my neighbor 3 doors up? Gain 200 lbs to be at the same level as my fat-arsed neighbor, who breaks a sweat talking over the fence? Sniff a lot of glue to be at the same intellectual level has my neighbor's useless crotchfruit?
I've said in the past that I think they're switching crap back and forth to give everyone a few good games. I can imagine some idiot in marketing making that presentation saying that it'll give less skilled players more enjoyment and keep them into the game.
Either that or it's something they can't fix so they raise and lower the lag comp also to appease half the players, half of the time.
it's very rare I ever get any kind of lag
It's about 50/50 that I see the person shooting me before I die, even when I'm looking right at him.
