Black Ops II - Light Machine Guns

Posted by sstang1 on Oct 1, 2012 5:07 AM

I love running around in Call of DUty with an LMG - is it just me or has NONE of the footage released so far for Black Ops II shown any LMG's.

I think I've watched it all or most - correct me if I'm wrong.

I hope LMG's are useful in this game - I've started using them more and more in MW3 - the buff they received awhile back did help them alot.

Any other LMG fans out there ?

Nice! Boxed magazine with slight of hand equals FAST reloads. Lets hope they didn't neuter them like they did in MW3.

Need a MG42 like gun. Just like in W@W. The buzz saw was shizznizzl.

is it really called the QBB-LSW, why can't they call it the QBB-95 LSW which is what its actually called, come on Treyarch don't do an IW on gun names!

Are you going to pay for the licence to name the guns after what they are in real life? "Boo-Hoo! The gun doesn't have a number in it". That's what I read.

Not sure how you all feel but I didn't like how you could make LMGs SMGs with the proper stacking of Perks and Profciencies in MW3. To me it made them incredibly powerful considering their weight and reload time was their only disadvantage

I still think it's a relatively unknown weapon so people don't even notice it's an option. Try equipping Sleight of Hand - Quickdraw - Stalker - Speed - and whatever attachment. It literally a buffed SMG this way

I don't mind the Mk46, I think it has decent sites. Other than that I fully agree with you. The iron sites on almost all weapons in the game are terrible

You get used to them. They aren't that bad.

I myself can't wait for the MK48!!  I use the MK46 often when using LMG's, easy iron sights and good fire rate.  I use them in HC and can mow down 5-6 enemies in a row!!!

I have the Mk46 about two kills from gold and the M60 at level 28. I've yet to use any other LMG because I find them all to be inferior to the Mk

LMGs are easily the most underrated weapons in the game

LMG's are great if they're balanced well. I'm all for making them really slow you down (to use them effectively) and have long reloads.

I don't think they should be effective to run n gun much even with perks, but move with a group perhaps, yes. As in, stop up and cover then move up.

As suppressing fire weapons they worked on a couple of maps in Black Ops (Launch and Array) but I'd like to see more map positions that suit them and more challenge, XP and score-related benefits for "proper" LMG use.

PS. I'm a fan of having 1o distinctly different classes and although my favourite class usually involves single-shot AR, I always wheel out a fast shotgun class, stealth sniper and a couple of differently set-up LMG classes to go with 6 AR/SMG classes.

Looking forward to see how they work.

MK48- Fully Automatic LMG. Increased damage and range.

LSAT- Fully Automatic LMG. Versatile and strong overall.

QBB LSW- Fully Automatic LMG. Highest rate of fire in class.

HAMR- Fully Automatic LMG. Reduces rate of fire overtime, becoming more accurate.

-Descriptions from Call of Duty wiki

I think that they will all be used fairly. The HAMR and LSAT are probably gonna be the most popular. we'll just have to wait to see.

I used to use lmgs a lot back in mw2 and black ops days I loved the aug hbar, mg4 and the m60 didn't use them in mw3 because they weren't very good. But I'm defiantly looking forward to using the LSAT and qbb lsw when black ops 2 drops.

    used LMG's in MW2.

seemed to ADS to slow overall in BO, except stoner.

LMG's should be stronger AR's(which should trade being the weakest gun class for all purpose capablilties) that give up alot for the best killing ability off all fullauto weapons. only toped my SMG at VERY close ranges.

as LMG's shoould be strong but lack ease of use. sights is one of the ease of use issues, same with run speed.
