I somewhat understand your frustration...I accidentally deleted my player profile, and was surprised to find that this completely reset all my stats and unlocks. I have played many multiplayer games of different genres which I let the accounts go inactive on for months, and come back to everything being the same as the accounts are integrated into the servers. This also makes it harder to cheat, assuming proper security measures. IW would have to spend a little on upgrading their servers, but imagine how much happier players in general would be (meaning they play more/longer and convince more friend to try the latest mw). And it would seriously reduce hacking.
